I wanted to update my review. I cannot say enough good things about their fish & chips (Fridays Only)! Incredibly crunchy batter with tender, flaky mild Alaskan cod. French fries and coleslaw are also great. If you like fish & chips and can eat well, the all you can eat fish & chips ($18.99 as of 5/8/26) is the way to go. It's my favorite fish fry in the area. Its basically a sports bar. With a nice patio out back on the nice weather days. We usually stop on the way to/from Detroit airport. Staff is friendly with good service. I don't really care for the inside atmosphere with liquor locked in cabinets and kinda dark in there. We have ordered most of the apps, the chicken wings, the sandwiches. Other than the darn flies on the patio the food experience is good. Nothing fancy here. Sports pub. 20+ beers on tap so I can always find something but its been pretty much same beers on tap each visit. They do have daily drink n food specials. If you are driving thru n need some grub stop on in. read more

Bar food at a whole new level, what all should aspire to serve. BLT with crisp flavorful bacon, nice firm juicy red tomato on the best bread. Bread makes a sandwich and this bread is home-run in awesomeness. Beers are cold, beers that have give you nice, plentiful drinkable options on draft. They offer up daily specials that should not be missed. Place was busy on a 2pm visit mid week, good sign this local eatery is appreciated and utilized. tl;dr This place rocks. Food: I had the "Northside On Fire" burger. It absolutely lived up to my expectation. High quality beef, ghost pepper cheese, SW sauce, BBQ sauce, etc. Throw a little peanut butter on there and it would be unbeatable. The perfectly breaded dill pickle fries came with SW ranch dipping sauce. Excellent. The onion rings? Not the best I've ever eaten, but still darned good. Honestly, pretty much everything on the menu, including the salads, sounded great. Drinks: With 28 beers on tap, many more in bottles, along with a normally stocked bar PLUS 2 locked cabinets full of top shelves and whisky, mostly bourbon, you should be able to find something to whet your whistle. I must say that I honestly wasn't expecting to find the craft beer! Most of it was from Michigan breweries. The specialty drinks sounded fantastic too. I just may try a Mojito the next time I'm up this way. Atmosphere: Very comfortable. I wouldn't mind being caught here during a snowstorm (which, actually, I was). Now I wouldn't call this a sports bar, but there were plenty of TVs, and Keno, and TouchTunes. It's lively, but not not too noisy. I'll bet it gets crazy during peak hours. If only they had a pinball machine or two. Service: The girl who seated me could have said hello and perhaps managed to smile; at first I feared that this was a "regulars only" bar. But, my fears abated quickly. The waitress (not the hostess, but the WAITRESS) was very friendly and helpful. Maybe it's pretty standard these days, but I always love when the server asks if I'd like to sample a beer before ordering it. She took my order, laughed at a Dad Joke, and had my food out to me posthaste. So far, Northside Bar and Grill rates 5 stars! read more

Great place for a burger! Also have the best nachos in Monroe, served Tuesday only. We went tonight and got the Brussel sprouts to start, they were delicious. I got the Rueben with carrot sticks instead of fries. The corned beef was carved and very tender. Hubby got the double cheeseburger with fries, he really enjoyed it Son got Janes Buffalo Blue Cheese chicken burger and devoured it, and he never finishes a sandwich so that said a lot. Great beer selection and great service. Can eat inside or on the patio when weather permits. read more

One of our local favs! We love the food! My husband's go to is the Jane's Buffalo Burger. Their fries are great. I love everything I've tried. Although I am sad that they got rid of the Mad Russian. It was my fav. Gotta get the pizza logs for an app! The bar is great too! Service is always quick and friendly. It truly is a bar, but it's super kid friendly during the day! A hidden gem not far from the mall in Monroe. We went there before a movie on a Friday night. We both got the all you can eat fish (cod). A decent portion that included a mountain of skinny fries and coleslaw. We might have ordered more fish if we weren't in a hurry. The service was a little slow, which is to be expected on a Friday night. Overall the food, experience, and service were good. We will definitely be back, I'm very curious about the jalapeño popper shrimp appetizer they have. read more

Ordered a DoorDash. The food was amazing. Ranch Chicken Wrap and Pickle Fries. The wrap had a good amount of chicken - good flavor. Also a perfectly sealed wrap - kudos to the craftsmanship of a perfect sandwich. The fried pickles were also delicious. Good flavor, light breading. This is hands down my favorite bar ever. I live in NC and whenever I'm back in town for work or to visit family, I'm in here at least twice during my visit. The craft beer selection never disappoints; I love dark beer and there's always a delicious variety. The Jane's Buffalo chicken burger is fantastic!! I order it every time I'm in here and I always get made fun of for ordering the same thing; I can't help it! It's THAT good!! I have also tried the Jill's chicken salad and the all-you-can-eat fish fry (on Friday's) both are very good, but that chicken burger has my heart! The waitstaff is awesome and very helpful. Nice local spot. Definitely a bar but has a great feel, super friendly staff and decently attentive. Drinks were very well done and fairly priced. If you like fried food this place is a jackpot on Friday night all you can eat cod. Many other fried dishes on menu too. We had mushrooms and avocado fried apps, both were excellent. Princess got the shrimp basket with fries, all fried well not over done, large, hot and nice serving size. I optimistically got the Reuben because I love them, but often not good....no joke this was probably one of top 2-3 I've ever had, great sandwich. My husband and I love coming here when we're in town. It's a pretty basic bar situation on the inside, but it's not too loud, the waitstaff is friendly, and the food is great. I love the ghost pepper cheese burger, fries, and fried cheese curds. My husband loves the 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich. The alcoholic beverages are tasty and strong. They have expanded! More parking & seems like more seating inside. Northside has a great variety of appetizers! The best selection I have seen at any restaurant! LOVE the fried pickles & fried avocado slices!! Many more delicious appetizers! I have an emotional support dog who is very well trained & lays by me when I go out to eat. I was told that I couldn't bring her in again because the owner only allows service dogs! I am very disappointed! I take my dog everywhere I go. She IS a service dog to me. I have emotional issues & I lost my young husband unexpectedly last fall. She makes going out easier for me. I PAID to have her licensed. She has I.D. (which I presented) & she wears a vest. Like I said, she acts like a service dog & lays at my feet. She doesn't bark & she is not disruptive. Having PAID for her licensing, I was told she was allowed anywhere, just like a service dog! For this reason, I was forced to lower my rating. To the owner: LICENSED "support" dogs ARE service dogs, just in a different way. read more
