Tuesday is wing night so I got the traditional wings with mugsy's secret sauce on the side. I really liked the wings, light and crispy skin, good eaten naked. I didn't find the secret sauce medium spicy at all, it was not good for me, not really sure what flavor profile they were going for. I also got a club salad, which I found good, but as always, get a hard boiled egg on it and some good croutons to get my full kudos. They could have done better with more even fork sized cuts of the lettuce too, if I wanted to cut it I would have asked for a wedge club salad. Service was supper fast and friendly. My server , Brooklyn, attributed the speed to it being wing night and I got wings, but still wow. Love it when the server, offers to go cups for pop when they deliver the check, thanks Brooklyn. Had a chili to start which was very good(added cheese and onion). My boyfriend had the veggie burger made as a patty melt. He said it was the best homemade veggie burger he has ever had. TGIF...its Friday so that's AYCE Cod. It's a no brainer as it's so darn good. The cod comes out fresh and hot, crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Nice chunky pieces, not small scraps that are all breading and no fish. And on the reorder for seconds they actually ask you how many pieces you would like. The Cole Slaw is tasty, but just a little sweet for my taste. And the clam chowder was thick, hot and delicious. The service was great, just the right amount of attention. My wife frequented Mugsy's every time we visit the dispensary down the street. We enjoyed the food and always had good service in the past. Last night we sat down and even before taking our drink orders were accused by a waitress via the manger for dining and dashing on a $10 tab 2 weeks ago. All because they remember the lady had blue hair like my wife. Despite being given details of our last visit like were we sat, who we were with, what we ordered, and the exact date- we even pulled up my banking app to show we paid them in full when we visited a week and a half ago. Rather than apologize after we supplied proof we paid, the manager said her waitress was mistaken and it was a month ago. So not only are we thieves we are now liars? I offered to provide her with bank transactions that verified we had been there 4 times in 3 month and paid each time including a month ago. I am 5'6" 300 lbs. I am not traveling 2.5 hours each way from Ohio to get one drink and walk out on my bill. I came to eat! Plus, I make good money and my wife owns a business. We typically have cash left over from the dispensary anyway that we use to tip at least 20%. We treat our wait staff well and would never sweat $10. We don't want a free meal or an apology. We just want everyone to know how they treat people. We feel insulted, judged, and targeted. We will not be back and to be honest I doubt they care. They refused to take the evidence that it was not us. What is more likely is that some other blue haired lady came in with someone. Ordered drinks. Got bad service so just left. We do not appreciate the acquisitions or being disrepected. I was unprofessional and uncalled for. Hope it was worth it! read more

Went to eat after a long day and the family wanted to go to Mugsy's. I had never been but they have raved about the chicken chunks(better than it sounds) and convinced me to go. It's a sports bar with all the usual stuff-flat screens, tin signs, lots of neon. The hostess got us to a booth and in record time we had menus in hand. Friday was all you can eat cod night, among other specials, so I was going to go with that. However, if you have anything left on your plate, you can't take it home. So, for a dollar less, I got the usual cod dinner instead. It came with three pieces of cod, a side and a salad. Plus, I could take the leftovers home! The cod was crispy and flavorful. The fries were excellent. Since they didn't photograph well, I spared you a photo. The salad was the usual tossed salad with cuke slices and a cherry tomato. The food was good but the service, from the hostess to our waitress, was on point. You can tell that they are used to handling people and they do it with wit and grace. I can see coming here for Superbowl Sunday because of the staff and how well the bar is set up. The t.v.s are everywhere and the seats are comfortable. Best of all, the place is well lit and airy. Warm, "rustic" feel - exposed wood, galvanized divider wall, Nascar memorabilia hanging from the ceiling and adorning the walls. Large screen TVs around the room were tuned to the local teams, but I swear, y'all, if you changed the MI 125 sign on the wall by the door to TX 155 and the Lions neon sign behind the bar to the Cowboys, you wouldn't be able tell how far north you really were! The hospitality was as warm as any we've had in the South and Kristen made us feel welcome and well cared for. She even called my husband "honey" (that's almost as Southern as grits!) Food was great! Onion rings that weren't homemade but they might as well have been! Pulled pork sandwich that was tender and juicy. The sauce had a bit of heat (not intense but just enough to make it interesting). Mushroom Swiss was cooked to order and they got it right! Decent selection of local favorites on tap and full bar if that doesn't suit your fancy. This place is awesome. I went here today with my girlfriend and I got 12 wings and she got the buffalo chicken wrap and some onion rings as an appetizer. The food was amazing. I got to say too the wings were huge. Not trying to exaggerate but they're some big wings. Their Honey BBQ sauce is soo good too. My husband ordered wings and 2 pizzas tonight and the bartender, Brooke failed to mention that they add automatic gratuity to take out orders over 80 dollars. In order to get that tip she went ahead and charged for the sauces that were supposed to be included with the amount of wings we ordered in order to get over 80 by 78 cents. The gratuity, 20%! When he questioned her about it she was very rude and condescending, explaining how she only makes 3 and some change an hour and she worked to make up the sauces for the order so she deserves that. He decided it was not worth it so returned the food and asked for his money back, the bartender then proceeded to sneer at him so he told her she was pitiful and then she screamed at him and called him a fat ass in front of the entire restaurant. Mugsy's is a kind of cool sports bar with huge screen TV's pool table, decent drink prices, and the food is pretty good for a bar. We had the boneless wings on special for 50 cents each... we tried the onion rings... we took a small pizza and I had a hamburger. The boneless wings were okay and they were decent size too. My hamburger was very good. The pizza was way above average for bar Pizza not in my top 10...but still pretty decent. The onion rings however were the star of the show they are the best onion rings I've had in a long time. My wife reports that they were even good cold the next day with leftovers. Think about it ...that's a lot of food for two people of course we're going to have leftovers. Service was friendly and accurate overall a pleasant experience. Came in for some lunch. We own a bbq food trailer and love to support local restaurants. Menu is great not too large and good amount of original items. We got the tortilla soup and chili and wings to start. Was very good! Chicken wings are breaded in house and were cooked perfectly! The soup was full of flavor and homemade! Do NOT order the fried cod, it wasn't a nice battered fish I expected, it's breaded in a super tough chewy batter. Inedible. The coleslaw is overpoweringly sweet. The chicken nuggets are better at a fast food joint. Soggy. The waitstaff is hit or miss depending when you're there. I had to ask twice tonight for water and silverware. (who delivers food without that?) The onion soup is ok but it's kind of hard to mess up beef bouillon, some onions and cheese covered bread. All their soups are homemade -the beef barley was delicious! I had the chicken salad sandwich which was a special- very fresh and had Michigan cherries on it. I have eaten here 3 times well traveling and all three meals have been great and the service staff is fantastic. The 12 oz Sirloin was cooked perfect tasted great and reasonably priced. Great place for wings. It's down the road from the million-dollar franchise Buffalo Wild Wings. It's cheaper [except for Tuesdays when both joints offer $0.45 wings. The wings are at LEAST 2x bigger than those at Bdubs. The mild red sauce is what I normally get, not very spicy, but close enough to buffalo sauce. Service is a lot better than those at Buffalo Wild Wings. A lot of TVs around, but no projector screens. Also, no game board like Buffalo Wild Wings. There's a different special every night. I know there's a AUCE Ribs night I think on Thursday, and a AUCE Fish on Friday. Some other specials on draft beer & burgers throughout the week. A pretty decent place overall.
