I traveled from Florida for a wedding and wouldn't you know I went outside to get coffee the afternoon of and the dash lights came on as normal but the key did not turn. I thought it was the starter and being a Saturday- looked very grim for me to get anything done on a Mercedes Benz- anytime soon (things were closing and not opening until Monday and then I would have had to wait for them to finish up he weekend stuff...so I was realistically looking at Tues before I could even think about leaving...) Thankfully I found this place and the next day (Sunday) he came out and it ended up being a battery that was going bad. It saved me a lot of time, and not to mention the major savings of the extra night(s) accommodations, and price of a starter repair (5 1/2 hr job) vs. a battery. I appreciated the honesty - friendliness - and promptness of this fella. I even had payment drama w/my card and had to run to the ATM and get him cash - all the while he remained patient and friendly & even gave me a ride to the ATM. Suggestion: get a tow truck before calling this person for help. What a weird experience, making a call to Pete's Mobile Garage (or Mobile Mechanic). His rudeness was unexpected and upsetting. I won't go into details because he is easily activated and he is clearly into adolescent taunting. If there were a "point 1" star, it would be given rather than the "1" option. Would give this less than 1 star if I could. Had to fix my employee's car for him after Pete charged him $400 to change his battery. He was having electrical drops inside the vehicle and they changed his battery without checking anything else. Car had the same issue 5 minutes down the road, meaning Pete never even test drove it to make sure the job was complete. I checked his fuse box and there was a badly burnt fuse to his alternator that was very obviously bad. Swapped it out and the car runs fine now. When confronted about it Pete was very extremely disrespectful, raised his voice at him and told my employee to "Go f*ck himself". Never use this garage. read more

Took my truck there to have the fuel pump replaced. After a week, received the truck back and when trying to put gas in it, it would only allow Us to put in under $15.00. Took it back to Pete's and after another several days got the truck back and was told that they found the issue and fixed it. Again, after several days, the Check Engine Light comes on. Took it back to Pete's and after several more days, said they did a smoke test and did not see anything and suggested it was the gas cap. So I purchased a gas cap and the Check Engine light remained on after several more days of driving. Finally was able to get the truck to my mechanic and a smoke test showed leakage from the O ring on the tank. Mechanic dropped the tank and found a fitting had previously been broken off and was hastily glued back with a metal piece - smoke test also showed leakage from this fitting as well. Being that this fitting was broken off, the fuel tank needed to be replaced. I sent Pete a text message and told him it was me, he acknowledged my text. I then text him what my Mechanic had found along with multiple pictures - NO RESPONSE. I reached out again a day later to Pete for a response and NOTHING! No acknowledgement, no response-NOTHING! So it cost me $800 with Pete and $800 for My Mechanic to fix what Pete's broke. Suggest you find another shop to fix your vehicle and stay away from the lack of business ethic from this place read more

It took me a year to find a mechanic willing to work on my commercial GMC P3500 step van (box truck) and do it at a reasonable price.... it needed a bunch of work, that's for sure. Then when it stopped cranking, I needed a mobile mechanic because I didn't want to pay $300 for a tow truck. I Googled for a hot second, found Pete, and filled out his online form. I went to Pete to get an alternator replacement during December 2020. It was supposed to be a 1 or 2-day job, but Pete's crew put an improperly-working alternator (had to restart my car 5+ times after a cold start) so I had to go there multiple days for them to fix it which was frustrating. The price was ok but wish they put an alternator with no problems first to save the hassle. Bad communication about frustration on my part but still not 4 or 5 stars since $150 labor /$25 per 15 min = 1.5 hours labor for 1-day work. Pete asked me what he could do to change my mind, so I believed a discount on a future repair was the best compensation for the lost time because Pete's crew could've got it right the first visit. Did not mention anything about a discount in this original review, so it isn't a discount-seeking review. It's great to have a mechanic that'll keep at it till the problem is diagnosed, without immediately telling you everything needs to be replaced. Brought my car in for a diagnostic related to electrical problems - pete's had it for three days, when I reached out to ask for an update he told me I need a new transmission. Asked for elaboration or a diagnostic report, he couldn't provide anything beyond "looking at the symptoms" and quoted me "5-6 thousand" saying that the part was on back order. I paid my 99 dollar diagnostic fee and took it to another mechanic for a second opinion. Second mechanic tells me not only is my battery dead and my alternator bad, but I was a quart low on transmission fluid and missing my transmission fuse. It was also spitting out two codes, which Pete didn't notice. I don't understand how you can run a diagnostic on a car and have it for three days without noticing any of those problems, checking a battery feels bare minimum when the customer tells you they think it's an electrical issue. Reached out Monday to ask for explanation, no response. Reached out again today, no response. Take your car elsewhere and save your 99 dollars. read more
