    Shred Brewing receipt

Alright, enough is enough. $11 for a beer?! Dont tell me it is the going rate. If it's a 5 gallon keg you are getting $550/keg, a 15gal $1650/keg. There is no way the brewer is charging anywhere near half that. Food and service great but burning bridges on beer rates.

    Chicken tacos

After a less than stellar experience last week at a different location, I decided to try this Rocklin location. The good: the chicken tacos are quite tasty. Alyssa was my bartender and she did a fantastic job, making sure to suggest tasty vittles, and double checking and triple checking on everyone, including people at the tables nearby to make sure that everyone had everything they needed. The marinara sauce that came with the garlic knots was also quite good. This location has Barqs root beer which I like quite a bit. The restrooms are conveniently close to the bar area. The bad: very, very minor. The garlic knots were mostly bread and hardly any garlic. The chicken tacos were very small despite being tasty. If there was volume on any of the TVs, I couldn't tell. The ugly: N/A Apparently, each one of these locations is a franchise and have slightly different menus and beverage options. Some have Pepsi, some have Coke. Some have happy hour specials on food and beverages, some just on beverages. I am posting a copy of the happy hour menu at this location with the date so that people can see what is current as of my visit. Overall I was very happy and I would certainly return to this location again.

    Putting on a show!

Pete's is only the finest wine and dine of all the wines and dines this side of Stanford Ranch! Every time I'm here I feel like a king, waited on hand and foot by the lovely staff who have honed their skills throughout the years by serving all walks of life! Throughout the years I have witnessed their staff deal with angry, entitled karens, struggling to keep it together after a long day ferrying their kids from practice to practice, notoriously low-tipping teens on their way to prom, an unsatisfied couple on the brink of divorce, and just your average family. I can assure you, they've seen it all and are more than prepared to provide you with only the most premier dining experience. At Pete's, you will enjoy absolute comfort, with booths freshly upholstered and undeniably modern. At most establishments, my hemorrhoids flare up, but not here! While waiting for my food to arrive, I enjoyed a show as the pizza cooks toss the dough in the air with as much beauty and grace as a cirque du soleil trapeze artist. Drink enough pints of simtra, and eventually you won't know the difference. Enough about the service though, what about the food? Well, this place has only ever pushed me further away from my goal of becoming a swimsuit model, which, in my opinion, is the hallmark of an exceptional eatery. I can't help but slurp down as much chipotle ranch as they can bring me. It's a problem. I highly recommend the spicy fettuccine, extra spicy. Not only will you get to enjoy the exotic flavors, aromas, and spices going in, but coming out as well! What a steal! All in all, as far as restaurants go, Pete's is a pillar of hope and a beacon of light to all those who enter. Highly recommend!

Been here multiple times now. The bartender is so nice, Emmaline (i probably butchered the spelling). But she is absolitelt great.. I usually come for happy hour. After a couple of times she recognized me, remembered part of my preferences, and was just super nice.. The beers are good. The wings are amazing. So is pizza. And pasta. I've never tried something I didn't like here. Will keep coming back.

Happy hour food M-F till 6pm all day Sunday
    John O.

Came for happy hour M-F 3-6pm and all day Sunday. Pound of fries $7 - excellent steak fries with a lightly crisp coating. Loved these with ranch and ketchup. Margherita flatbread pizza $9 - very good. Thicker than BJ's with slices of tomatoes. BJ's has a sweeter sauce. Rootbeer float is huge but never order anything that does not list a price $9 ouch...... California burger and coleslaw were good, a little pricey. Pete's blonde pint $5 was good. Ate on the nice patio with the Rose Garden

I was tasked with finding a location in the Rocklin area to host a memorial gathering. Since I…read moredon't live nearby, I turned to Yelp and started calling places close to the mortuary where our family would be gathering. Pain Killers was the third place on my list. My first call went unanswered, and there wasn't an answering service. On my second call, I was able to leave a voicemail. When I called Pain Killers, a kind woman answered within two rings. I explained that I was looking for a venue to host a memorial gathering. She let me know that the person who could best assist me wasn't available but offered to take my number and have them return my call. Within 30 minutes, Austin called me back. We discussed what we were looking for, and as you can imagine, it's not an easy conversation to have with someone you've never met. From the very beginning, Austin's kindness and compassion stood out. His exact words were, "We want to be here for you during this difficult time." Those weren't just words--I could genuinely feel his sincerity, not only during that phone call but in every text message we exchanged over the following week. Each time I reached out, I'd say, "Ok, Austin, last question," only to think of another one shortly afterward. No matter how many times I contacted him, he remained patient, understanding, and accommodating. He answered every question, responded promptly, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. In the end, it was decided to keep the entire day's gathering at a church rather than the mortuary, so we didn't end up going to Pain Killers. Even so, I wanted to recognize Austin for the exceptional level of customer service and genuine compassion he showed during one of the most difficult times. The next time I'm in the Rocklin area, I plan to stop by, say hello to Austin, and make sure to give Pain Killers some well-deserved business. Thank you, Austin, for reminding me that kindness and empathy still go a long way.

I do hope you recently cleaned the patio since I did visit a few weeks ago. I wish you the best of luck. Just a tip on future responses to reviews. You always seem to have an "answer" . Sometimes you just need to chalk it up to a bad day, experience, or something to grow from. You show a pattern which comes off as disingenuous. Anybody who reads your other responses will see its deflection. Sometimes a "Thanks for your review, we identified a few items to learn from and hopefully a future chance at your business will be better". Service was horrible. Sunday afternoon around 4 pm. 1 bartender, 1 patron at bar, 2 establishment based folks "meeting" at a high top in the bar area. Bartender literally told me after we received our drinks that "if she got bored, she would come check on us in the patio" as she moved over to eat her salad (at the bar) and chat with the 1 patron. The patio is filthy. Please pressure wash the outside and maybe wash the furniture covers outside. I mean it gives off the grunge downtown or extremely busy college bar scene but in Rocklin, Ca which is about as grunge as the Hamptons. The menu has lined out times, rather than update the paper document. Food looked standard pub fair, nothing flashy, but didn't have the quality of the old Mac and cheeses Bone Shakers use to provide. Decor is pretty much Bone Shakers, no real heart or specialization, beyond adding the grunge feel. I ordered a specialty fry with my first drink. As I was wrapping up my 3rd drink, I cancelled the order, and proceeded to close out. One of the establishment "gentleman" let me know the food was coming out. I said "at this point, No Thank You". They did offer the food to me at no charge 5 minutes later as I finished my drink outside. It weighed about 10 lbs and was not appetizing looking. You can be the judge. I came here for a little nostalgia and to see how the place had grown since I had been there some years ago. I can check it off my follow up list.

We enjoyed: - pomegranate martini: light and fruity, good pomegranate flavor - yuzu lime drop: seasonal for summer only! - the First Lady: strong but smooth; came with a nicely cut ice cube - whiskey sour: classic flavor, executed well The drinks were great but I really wish there was some sort of snack to munch on. The whole idea of Tap Houses really does appeal to me…read more I love being able to just grab a glass and seeing all the beers on the wall and picking what I want and how much I want. The people who run Waymaker Brewing in Roseville are doing this at the highest level. I've been to this location a few times for different events and every time a wonderful time was had. So as far as the beers go they have around 40 different beers on tap and also they have 10 wines on tap as well. So exactly how it works is this- When you walk in you give them a credit/debit card-then they give you a wristband-next you grab a glass and go pick your beer or wine and you get charged by the ounce you actually pour rather than by the glass size. Then at the end of the visit, you turn in your wristbands and you get charged whatever it is you poured in total for the visit-I love the entire concept. It's a great way to be able to try many types of beer instead of just a few big beers. Now let's talk about the elephant in the room for Waymaker. The thing that makes this place unique is they have 6 golf simulators a person can rent depending on day and time anywhere from $35-$60 an hour and up to 6 people can play on the simulator at one time. On these simulators there are more than 200 virtual courses available. It's a crazy amount of fun for golfers of all skill levels There is also a hand roll sushi bar inside called Fire Fish where one can order sushi-hand rolls-flatbreads or various small plates. It really is an amazing place. They also have a massive big screen in the back that is furnished with comfortable couches and chairs in case one wants to just hangout and watch whatever live sporting event is happening that visit. Let's see my last few visits I've gone with my son and we played a round of golf at Pebble Beach on the simulator. I've gone to a birthday party for my boss and we had 2 simulators rented and we ate sushi rolls and flatbread while drinking a lot of beer. I've gone to do after work drinks with a friend while watching NBA playoff basketball. Visits to Waymaker can be so many things but I can say for sure every visit will be fun. So if you find yourself out in Roseville and want to try something a little different-head on out to Waymaker Brewing, it really is a great time. PS. Parking is a breeze as they share a big lot with lots of spaces with other businesses.

You can imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon this bar/gaming room with the funny German sounding name when I realized it was a glorified pinball arcade room that also served beer. This place is straight amazing-50+ of the greatest pinball machines are available to play. They do use the "game-card" system to pay for these games, which can make playing these games way too easy-games tend to cost about $1 a game in game credits to play, which is far more than I paid when I was an 8 year old kid but then again, that was 45 years ago. They have a pretty solid beer selection-beers tend to go for anywhere between $7-$8 a beer-not too bad in my opinion.Though they do offer a pretty unique item called "Das Boot" which is a pretty large boot that cost $40 and comes with a fill up at time of purchase and 20% off on future fill ups-though not sure what the original cost of a fill up is exactly. One massive upgrade I've learned in the pinball world is nowadays you can download an app by Stern Inc,the majority manufacturer of most of the popular pinball machines and you can register your pinball play and it will keep tabs of everywhere u play and all the scores u achieved on the various pinball machines-I really enjoyed this feature-I only wish they had this when I was in my prime of pinball play when I was a youth. This place doesn't have the best hours but I'm sure there is a reason for these hours-M-F the hours are 5p-10p and on weekends they open at 12p... In closing-If you ever find yourself in the Rocklin area and you get a yearning to try out your pinball machine skills-I couldn't recommend this spot any higher as they are a very unique spot offering a truly awesome experience-a trip down memory lane for some and a whole new world for the younger generation-You should get out there and have some fun. PS-I failed to mention this place is very family friendly-on my particular visit the place was flooded with kids from elementary to high school age honing their pinball machine skills and enjoying every minute of it.

The mac n' cheese bites I had last week were freshly prepared (from scratch), cooked to order, piping hot, and totally delicious--and also under $10. The beers and ciders on tap are all mostly from small, local makers and under $10/pint. They also have plenty of NA drink options. If you're a pinball person, I dare you to find a more accommodating spot for playing and vibing out. If you're not a pinball person, this is a great place to fall in love with the game.
