Pete's Pizza has always been a favorite of our family. For YEARS. Eight years ago, we moved to Philadelphia, sad to leave Pete's (of all places) with the best salad and RANCH. We are in town for a wedding, so excited to have dinner at our favorite place we have not visited in 8 years! We showed up at 7:30.... Standard dinner time for most busy ppl, only to be told (after placing our appetizer order and drinks) that the kitchen closes at 8. We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 dinner salads, 2 small pizzas and 1 medium pizza. We had anticipated a leisurely family dinner.... At 7:30. We were met with the vibe like, "Order up so I can clean up and gtf outta here." Working in restaurants thru college, and with both of my kids (twins just graduating HS and pursuing hospitality degrees this fall in college), PETES in ROCKLIN encapsulated ANTI-hospitality on how to treat guests. We spent a lot of money, feeling like we had to "force feed" down appetizers and salads and "hurry up" when our pizza was plopped down. At this point, by 8:15 (45 minutes into our dining experience), we just asked that everything be boxed up so we could RELAX and enjoy our dinner, and not have to chomp down and swallow food, without tasting it. The taste we were SO EXCITED TO ENJOY after all of these years. Pete's is a fond memory... from way back in the day. Closing at 8pm when it's still light outside, is weird. read more

Such a nice and chill spot to be. I could tell it's a local favorite. The food is delicious and the scene is sporty and family oriented. They serve a delicious burger and the bartender makes a killer espresso martini. But the Margaritas are my favorite. Everyone there is so nice and accommodating. We love a good happy hour! My daughter and I had an excellent lunch! She ordered the Pastrami Sandwich with fries and I had the Fettuccine with Alfredo and Marinara, half-and-half, cheesy garlic bread, and a cup of minestrone soup. Everything was top notch. Great service and priced very reasonably. We both had enough to take home and enjoy another meal. I would definitely recommend and will certainly come back again. read more

Alright, enough is enough. $11 for a beer?! Dont tell me it is the going rate. If it's a 5 gallon keg you are getting $550/keg, a 15gal $1650/keg. There is no way the brewer is charging anywhere near half that. Food and service great but burning bridges on beer rates. read more

After a less than stellar experience last week at a different location, I decided to try this Rocklin location. The good: the chicken tacos are quite tasty. Alyssa was my bartender and she did a fantastic job, making sure to suggest tasty vittles, and double checking and triple checking on everyone, including people at the tables nearby to make sure that everyone had everything they needed. The marinara sauce that came with the garlic knots was also quite good. This location has Barqs root beer which I like quite a bit. The restrooms are conveniently close to the bar area. The bad: very, very minor. The garlic knots were mostly bread and hardly any garlic. The chicken tacos were very small despite being tasty. If there was volume on any of the TVs, I couldn't tell. The ugly: N/A Apparently, each one of these locations is a franchise and have slightly different menus and beverage options. Some have Pepsi, some have Coke. Some have happy hour specials on food and beverages, some just on beverages. I am posting a copy of the happy hour menu at this location with the date so that people can see what is current as of my visit. Walked into Pete's to find it was Trivia night !!! Horrible and loud we couldn't even visit with our dinner guests ! Pizza is not as good as it used to be to be and seemed under cooked . Good service and decent food. I ordered the philly cheessteak sandwich. It came with chunks of steak, a little thicker that what you would normally use, bell pepper, onions, a slice of bacon (great idea), cheese, and mayo and mustard (no usually in a philly). The sandwich wasd just ok, the steak was a little too thick and the mustard threw me off a bit. It came with steak fries (no complaints). Everyone else at the table just said the food was good, nothing spectacular. The prices were average. The bar had a good selection of beer on tap. read more

Throughout the years I have witnessed their staff deal with angry, entitled karens, struggling to keep it together after a long day ferrying their kids from practice to practice, notoriously low-tipping teens on their way to prom, an unsatisfied couple on the brink of divorce, and just your average family. I can assure you, they've seen it all and are more than prepared to provide you with only the most premier dining experience. At Pete's, you will enjoy absolute comfort, with booths freshly upholstered and undeniably modern. At most establishments, my hemorrhoids flare up, but not here! While waiting for my food to arrive, I enjoyed a show as the pizza cooks toss the dough in the air with as much beauty and grace as a cirque du soleil trapeze artist. Drink enough pints of simtra, and eventually you won't know the difference. Enough about the service though, what about the food? Well, this place has only ever pushed me further away from my goal of becoming a swimsuit model, which, in my opinion, is the hallmark of an exceptional eatery. I can't help but slurp down as much chipotle ranch as they can bring me. It's a problem. I highly recommend the spicy fettuccine, extra spicy. Not only will you get to enjoy the exotic flavors, aromas, and spices going in, but coming out as well! What a steal! Go to YARD HOUSE instead of Pete's. The happy hour is no good. The cost is not a deal and the food you get is measly. They would not make accommodations for my gluten allergy. They said they wouldn't do the sliders lettuce wrapped for me. I had to get the lettuce on the side and put it together myself. Then my sliders still came with cheese even though I definitely said no cheese becuase I always get it with no cheese. The server took forever to bring us our check. He was nice enough but the fact that they were so weird about my order threw me way off. I'm not sure how that place is managed but they need to put their customers first. The chicken tortilla soup tasted like weird chili and the bill was $60 for 3 people during happy hour! Yard house has 4 sliders that they happily lettuce wrapped WITH fries for $7!!!! Came for happy hour M-F 3-6pm and all day Sunday. Pound of fries $7 - excellent steak fries with a lightly crisp coating. Loved these with ranch and ketchup. Margherita flatbread pizza $9 - very good. Thicker than BJ's with slices of tomatoes. BJ's has a sweeter sauce. Rootbeer float is huge but never order anything that does not list a price $9 ouch...... California burger and coleslaw were good, a little pricey. Pete's blonde pint $5 was good. Been here multiple times now. The bartender is so nice, Emmaline (i probably butchered the spelling). But she is absolitelt great.. I usually come for happy hour. After a couple of times she recognized me, remembered part of my preferences, and was just super nice.. The beers are good. The wings are amazing. So is pizza. And pasta. My two little kids, husband, and I decided to give Pete's a try for the first time today, and the food was horrible! The service was good, but the food was a big disappointment. Called in a small VegHead to go and it was very good. Beyond solid pub pizza. In fact loaded with veggies and the feta cheese added a nice flavor. Server's are always friendly, but what prompted me to write this review is the last time I was there, I had to cancel my order and rush out because my son was feeling sick. I left my wallet on the table. The next day, the owner knocked on my door (having found it on my (CADL) and gave it to me. He refused a thank you reward, and said he just wanted to get it back to me. We live close, so it was still nice and hot by the time I got home. Crust was thick and chewy, just as we like it. I don't normally go out to Roseville/Rocklin, but I recently went to Pete's on a Friday afternoon in between appointments to have a late lunch. Despite getting there 10 min before happy hour started, the bartender offered to honor the happy hour prices without me even asking, so that was nice. I started out with the stuffed knots from the happy hour menu and they were delicious and more filling than I anticipated. After that I ordered the steak salad and the steak came out perfectly and not over cooked. Throughout the meal the bartender was attentive and refilling my drinks even though the bar area was fairly busy. So...I came back to give it another shot. I came in this time by myself for lunch. I was seated immediately. Upon seating, the server asks me what I want to drink, didn't have a clue because he was seating me at the same time. I tell him I need a few minutes, another waiter comes by and I order a beer. I ordered my food when he came back with my beer. I decided that I would go with the Spaghetti Bolognese entree. It came with a side of soup or salad and I opted for a salad. My make server brings out my salad within minutes. It was really fresh and crisp. But to my dismay, he brings out my entree within minutes after I receive my salad! I tried to eat faster than norm ( I'm a slow eater), but by the time I got to my entree, it was rather cold. I didn't complain and left it, as is. I was halfway into my dish and the server comes by and asks if I need Parmesan or extra pepper?! I'm thinking to myself, "Duh?!, I've eaten half my meal, and you're asking me if I need anything?!" In all seriousness, the food is good, not spectacular. I ordered something different from my last visit (shrimp linguine was too oily). The spaghetti Bolognese was a safe bet but failed to deliver. It was okay, have had better elsewhere. The sauce was flavorfull and had decent amount of meat but lacked in the marinara sauce. I'm upping my rating to a three star since my last visit.
