We had a fantastic prime rib dinner at The Timbers Lodge after a great day of golf at Timber Creek. We had reservations for seven people on a Thursday night, which happens to be their prime rib special--and it did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and an incredible value. The prime rib was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The salad was excellent as well--I chose the blue cheese, and it was generously portioned with plenty of blue cheese and toppings, which I really appreciated. Drinks and wine were excellent, with very generous pours. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and made the entire evening relaxed and enjoyable, even with a larger group. I would highly recommend The Timbers Lodge, especially on Thursday nights for the prime rib special. One tip: make a reservation about a week in advance, as it's very popular and fills up quickly. We're here again. Our last drive dinner visit with three friends went well. The salad, shrimp, pork, burger, and sea bass were all good. The beer and wine too. Waiting to be seated is a given here. The service is good though they seem understaffed. This lunch visit we ordered the Reuben and shrimp. My wife says the Reuben is one of the better she's had. read more

As residents of Sun City Roseville, we're fortunate to have a reliably good restaurant on the property. Mrs. and I have eaten at Timbers quite a few times during our first year here. Some of the dishes qualify as 5/5, and while a few miss the mark, it's usually not by much. We have friends outside of Sun City who love coming to Timbers, often citing the very reasonable prices and predictably excellent quality. The carpeted floors, the very comfortable chairs, the generous spacing between the tables, and the calm colors of the room create a welcoming ambiance. The views of the golf course from the tables are beautiful. Every staff member, without exception, has been pleasant to interact with. The servers are totally professional and accommodating, and we've gotten to know many of them by name. Some of the standout food offerings include the Friday-only New England clam chowder, a version we consider among the best we've ever tasted. Plenty of clams and a pleasantly mild, creamy broth. We actually try to get over there every Friday, drawn by the chowder in particular. All of the beef dishes, from the burgers to the taco salad with ground beef to the prime rib, are excellent. The many different entree-size salads are uniformly fresh and tasty, and the salad dressings are all top-notch. While you're not likely to go wrong with any of the many offerings, we have found the fish options don't always measure up to the other choices. We recently tried the sea bass offered at dinner, and found it dry, lacking an identifiable fresh flavor, and just not something we would order again. Likewise, the fish portion of the fish and chips is not as good as others we've had elsewhere, to the point where it is one of the few dishes we avoid. On the other hand, the seafood is really good, and the shrimp scampi, in particular, is a standout choice. While I don't think Timbers is quite a Yelp 5-star, I'd be totally comfortable with a 4.5 if the system allowed it. We probably return to Timbers at least once/week, and we always look forward to it. That is the mark of a well-run restaurant with a top-notch kitchen crew, and I can highly recommend Timbers for an exceptionally comfortable meal out. read more

Its been 4 years since my last review so it is time for an update! This is located in Sun City and open to the public but we only ever come here when we visit my in-laws only because I never really think about coming here otherwise. We both got a sandwich that came with fries. All ingredients tasted fresh and I like their fries with a crunchy coating. Service was friendly and they are mildly busy. The place is open, quiet, clean and conservative of course. White table cloths. They do have specials like Prime Rib night for $30 and saw that they are advertising for an AYCE Octoberfest menu that I wouldn't mind trying. I only ding a star because the prices are higher than expected but not over an average sit down restaurant so expect $25 pp for breakfast/lunch if you get a drink. read more

I would happily give Timber 8 or 9 stars!! The atmosphere is elegant yet clean and comfortable.. The food was excellent- last night was Prime Rib night and it was PACKED! YET- the food came out hot and good and the service was THE BEST! Thankyou PAUL for your service- and the other young lads too were spot on! So busy yet such great service!! Definitely will be back! Came here for brunch with my mom and sister before heading to soccer. We arrived around 11 and didn't need a reservation, though the hostess did ask, so I'd recommend making one on busier days. We were seated right away. The restaurant has a nice open feel with lots of windows and natural light. They brought us some delicious pastries and water right away. Our waitress was friendly and quick to take our drink orders. I had a mimosa and my mom ordered a Bloody Mary. Both were very good. For my meal, I had the California Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was spot on. My only small wish was that the potatoes were a bit crispier. Overall, the food was really good, the vibe was relaxed, and the service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend coming back here for brunch. read more

This was my husband's and my first time dining here. We came with a large group and the restaurant was packed at lunchtime! But service here was prompt after a small wait, and all our servers and waitress were very friendly and patient, making us feel relaxed and welcome. We were surprised by how much food we got on our plates for about $17 per sandwich or salad. I enjoyed the two-beet salad with arugula and hard boiled egg and cherry tomatoes. His hamburger sandwich on beautiful marble rye bread was so large, he took half of it home and ate it the following day. The French fries here are decadent, with a nice crusty outside as they have a craveable coating. I sneaked some of his hot fries on this cold day. We definitely will return! Favorite go to in the neighborhood, everything on the very traditional menu is good and a good price. The restaurant is casual and comfortable. The bar side is where the community congregates and it's always busy in there. The staff is friendly and welcoming and they take the time to chit chat with you which is pretty great. read more

Food: Very good Service: Excellent Of note, the Timbers posted a (very small) sign at their reception desk that they are going to start charging a 3% surcharge on May 1 if a credit card is used to pay for the meal. This is inappropriate. The use of a credit card is the cost of doing business - and charging the surcharge is potentially the early sign of financial stress. A typical dinner for two with a bottle of wine and tip can easily cost $100.00+ -even more if parents are taking their children out to dinner. Does the restaurant think that their customers routinely carry this amount of cash with them to avoid the 3% surcharge? This is not a customer friendly policy. read more

Timbers at the Lodge was straight up rude for no reason. Walked in excited, walked out feeling like I personally ruined the staff's entire day by existing. Every interaction had attitude. Eye rolls, short answers, and that tone that says "I hate my job and now I hate you too." I asked a simple question and got treated like I'd asked to cook the food myself. The food? Who knows. Hard to enjoy a meal when the vibe is "please eat faster and leave." I've been more warmly welcomed by self-checkout machines. If you want to feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, and mildly gaslit while paying for it, this is your spot. Otherwise, save your money and your sanity. read more

Lunch at Timbers was really good! The fish tacos were delicious and the fries were hot and perfectly crispy. Even the cup of soup was good! The service was excellent too. We were seated and given menus right when we arrived. We weren't rushed to place our orders but didn't have to wait once we were ready. Our waters were refilled and our server checked on us several times. The food came out of the kitchen quickly too. This is a well-run restaurant and I'd eat here again. read more

Had lunch several times over the last few months. Enjoyed the shrimp louie salad, cold roasted beef sandwich on croissant and breakfast brunch one time. Brunch was standard selections nothing special. The sandwich was not very flavorful; the beef was very bland and lettuce tomatoes were wilted. The shrimp salad was just okay and they used canned bay shrimp and we're not too generous. So I was not very impressed and I think the quality has decreased but their service is consistently good. read more

I've been here for both lunch and dinner. They have a casual dining with a bar, as well as a more formal seating area. Both were very good food and excellent service despite being very busy. I like the Hamburger, French dip and Prime Rib for dinner served only on Thursday but available in both seating area's. Special note +++ extra charge for baked potato+++ Always friendly courteous staff. Reservation recommended especially for Thursdays when I'd say mandatory if you want to get a seat. Had a nice pleasant dinner here with a group of friends. The room is quite nice and I was especially impressed by the decor of the adjacent bar area, very upscale and clubby,.yet contemporary too. The menu has a good number of selections, and I chose the pork chop. It came with a very refreshing salad, I had with pear vinaigrette dressing. The chop came with a corn relish on top sitting on mashed potatoes and some vegetables, squash, brocolli, etc. All delicious and a hefty portion, but I did find the chop to be somewhat dry. The service was stellar, very professional and friendly. I'd give the servers 10 stars. Prices are quite reasonable and the experience quite enjoyable. read more

Hit and Miss! Sometimes it's excellent and sometimes it's not good at all. No consistency in the food. We love the chicken alfredo but the last time we ordered it it was completely watered down! We also love the burger but the last couple times we ordered it it was burnt, the gravy in the chicken fried steak looked like it sat under the heat lamp. Most of the time the wait staff is usually good, the last couple times someone other than our server has dropped our food off and we don't see our server again until the check is dropped off! Almost all restaurants offer a discount to senior citizens, first responders, AAA or AARP; Timbers offers NO discounts not even to SC residents! read more

The solarium is a tiny space where the manager, Felicia, will not allow decorations on the wall. She said I would need a bar to hang my backdrop. I requested to have my son's band play music and that is not allowed as well because it is too close to the restaurant and the people eating might get distracted. My son's band will only play three songs and their music is not hard rock, they play bebadoobee songs which are very soft and smooth. They don't give refunds as well but I got my credit card run the dispute. It is a money scheming facility. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience here. The staff was unfamiliar with current in-state IDs and refused to serve me. What upset me most was not just the lack of knowledge regarding updated driver's licenses, but the way I was mocked while trying to explain that it was a newly issued ID. My wife and I are looking to move out of the Bay Area due to the cost of living so we are looking into the Roseville area. We toured the community of Sun City, Roseville among other communities in the area. We were very impressed with the Sun City community and its staff. We were so impressed with the community that we decided to return for dinner at the community center of the property. TIMBERS you guys are absolutely awesome. I had the Fish'N'Chips my wife had the Apple Chicken salad with a Calamari starter. All the food was FANTASTIC and came to the table quickly and very hot. Our drinks were totally ON POINT and our waiter / server (JOSH) is the Epitome of customer service we also had another gentleman that was (forgot his name) was wonderful as well. The feel of the room was light conversation and laughter which I liked quite a bit. OVERALL feel is this place (The Community) seems like the place my wife and I want to settle down in. We did this tour with our besties and they will definitely be looking at moving here as well. read more

Pull up a chair and be pleased! Timber's at the lodge is a charming and beautiful lodge. We came here with family who live in Sun City Roseville. They belong to the Golf Club and lodge-so dining here was a perfect choice. A great way to start our Christmas vacation. Upon entering the lodge you are taken with the lodge charm: large fireplace, wood chandeliers, and rustic decor. The restaurant has a country feel and offers a culinary experience. The menu has something for everyone. We ordered the: Pot Roast  - $19.00 (Beef braised to perfection, sliced thick and topped with the pan gravy and served with mashed potatoes and veggies), Pan Seared Sea Bass - $23.00 (Pan seared 6oz Sea Bass, topped with a tomato-caper relish and served with rice and seasonal vegetables), broccoli cheese soup, and the Caesar salad. Surprised to find this great breakfast spot in Sun City Roseville. Came in on a Saturday morning restaurant was quiet. The server was great very attentive. Had the country fried steak and eggs. Steak was crunchy gravy was perfectly seasoned and the eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them. I was able to do some work and enjoy the gorgeous view. read more

When beginning to dine here a couple years ago, really enjoyed it...especially the prime rib on Thursdays. But the last six months or so, seems like the quality of food, or maybe it's food preparation, has decreased. The prime rib I had this last Thursday was both tough and tasteless. Portions, surprisingly given it mostly caters to senior aged patrons, are generous. Service is very friendly, pleasant comfortable yet refined aesthetic ambience. I can only rate on what I ordered, mainly appetizers and main entree. I am one of those who like liver with onions, with bacon if that is included. Salad was fresh, crunchy and generous. The side accompaniments with the liver streak were good and generous. But to achieve the perfect texture, the liver cannot be near paper thin. Regardless if I ordered either medium rare or rare, the texture was grainy and dry with miniscule red which should have been more visible. I would rather have a thicker slice of liver than any bacon garnish. However, I may return to try other choices. I wish the restaurant could add yorkshire pudding when serving Prime Rib for greater fine dining authenticity. I personally miss the fine dining dinner plate presentations to which I was accustomed in more sophisticated foodie cities. I also notice most restaurants, regardless of prices, do not provide salad forks. Most others in Roseville serve salad on cup saucers instead of a real salad plate. That country side rustic no longer fits modern suburban Roseville, Many of us transplants are not from country rural backgrounds. We are accustomed to basic polished dining amenities from restaurants trying to be and look refined. read more
