I arrived to my new home on a Thursday morning pre-closing, entered the garage "what is all this crap in my garage?!" The home was an estate sale so it was items their parent had had inside that they hadn't removed in the five months since the house was listed. It was decent stuff, hutch, daybed, sewing cabinet, tools and various other items. But nothing I wanted and in the way where I was potentially going to put unloaded items. My realtor contacted the listing agent around 10:00 a.m. who reached out to 1-800-Got-Junk who said they would be there between noon and 2:00. Wonderful, I wasn't expecting such a quick turnaround but grateful for it! Tariq and Jay arrived about 1:15. Got off the truck, introduced themselves and asked "who's paying?" I replied "not me! The listing agent...who I was told was to be here" Them "that makes sense, we said we were on our way and they replied they were 20 minutes away...and...you're here" We told them everything in the garage was to go, locked the house and left for lunch. This would be my 5th time using the service. We cut down a multitude of shrubs along our back fence and began to panic as the piles grew larger. They were far beyond my yard trash container capacity we have from the city. This service is on line and we're open today on the holiday weekend to my delight. I went on line booked an appointment of which their were many to choose from and got three follow up calls to confirm the service, let me know arrival time and a call from the driver when they were near. For a great price with my coupon our huge piles of shrub debris got removed in about 45 minutes, clean up done by a most polite and friendly crew of two. They quoted me $129 originally over the phone. Told me it was solid. They were to pick up a mattress and bedframe that broke. They cancelled my appointment two days in a row Wed and Thursday this week. For the inconvenience I was told it'll be $99 to pick up my items. Today they came out and now the guys gave me a quote for $179.00. I told him that wasn't the deal or conversation I was given yesterday. He told me that happens often and that this is the quote. I really needed this out of the house. I asked him how much for just the frame to be removed. He quoted $108. I had to go with it because I had no other choice. I'm highly disappointed in the Got Junk company!! I'm ready to contact the Better Business Bureau!! I filed a claim with the company who is supposed to contact me tomorrow. Least December we scheduled an appointment to have 800-Got-Junk come to our home in Plymouth. We had an average size gas Weber grill and a very light weight patio lounge. On the day they were scheduled we had a snow storm so it was rescheduled the next day. They gave us a time but never arrived so we kept calling and finally they said a truck ws on its way. It arrived around 6:30. It was very dark, the temperature was very cold and much of our driveway was snow packed. The driver was alone and the truck was packed with junk, so much so we were sure he wouldn't be able to get out two items in. I handed him the lounge which he lifted from the side and put it on top of the junk pile. He opened the back door and we had to do everything we could to keep other junk from falling out, Trying to get the BBQ up and in was very difficult. The driver was on top of the pile trying to lift it and my daughter and I were trying to push it up to him without other junk falling out. It was very difficult and this 81 year old man should not have been doing it. We used them once before with no problems but now we need the service again and will be looking elsewhere. read more

My appointment was to be 1pm - 3pm. They called and said they could be there at 12:45. This was for my mother-in-law's assisted living apartment, and I said I couldn't get out there by 12:45, but I would definitely be there by 1pm. They said okay, they'd be there at 1pm. Then they texted to say 1:30. At 1:30 they texted again to say between 2:30-3:30. At 3:10 they called to say it would be another 45 minutes. no complaints in punctuality, efficiency, professionalism, friendliness or how they explained my bill after moving everything to their truck. i can see where their service would be economical if you were emptying a whole house, or garage or construction site. however, my advice is to consider every option for a small job. i had a disassembled chair and 6 bags of household items and clothing sitting at my front door all ready to go. it took the two guys 5 minutes to make 3 trips to load the truck. my bill was $457 with a 15% tip. if my husband was not so ill, we would have taken it all in a single load in our pick up truck to goodwill as we normally do. just a heads up. read more

How do you even start this... Let's start with quote vs actual. Their initial quote is always pretty high, almost feels made up. But we needed a service so we were limited on options. Team shows up( 2 guys were great) their quote is different and mentioned that if we added more items it would cost more per item. Our quote was for a couch and some flooring. So when there's not enough room for the couch, we go with old flooring as that was the biggest hassle, but saying the couch would be more was already a question mark as we thought it was apart of the quote. Actual pickup: We made the flooring pickup as easy as possible, old carpet is rolled into small bundles and taped up for easy transport and the wood flooring was one pile maybe 3X6X3. We even eliminated the use of stairs and had them assembly line it through our basement window. All was less than an hour. The price ended up being higher than our quote even without the couch! Absolutely ridiculous! It's hard to believe they treated this almost like a mechanic BS pricing as my partner set this up initially. Had I known what we were getting into, I most likely would have laughed them off my driveway. Here's another kicker. This was after holiday, they were over 2 hours late for our appointment and we had to call them to see if this was still on the schedule. Seems as if the team on ground and those in office are running 2 different companies. Next time schedule a little after as we were flexible, and don't BS the pricing, least you can do for your mistake was take off some $$$. But here we are, me writing a review because they won't answer my email sent out Monday. Please all, it'll be much easier to convince friends to help and offer up a case of beer and $$$ than dealing with these guys! Just... just say away. read more

I hired 1800 Got Junk on August 21st 2025 to remove trash, cardboard boxes and other miscellaneous items from my deck, surrounding area and yard. They did not complete the job,left random pieces of trash in my yard, left behind items on my deck,did not take the brush we had agreed on...upon them not completing said job I decided to take matters into my own hands because they were already packed up and ready to go so in so many words I said to them "I'll just finish it myself" I wasn't going to beg them to stay! I paid 550 in cash given it's what was agreed upon, I received a quote and receipt upon completion that stated I paid 482.05,I brought it to the main guy's attention and his response was "they messed up on the discount." I want my difference in cash back and the job finished! Very unprofessional people,I will NEVER hire this company again and will certainly not recommend them. I am also disabled so even though I said "forget it,I'll finish it myself" I shouldn't have to because they were hired to clean! They recycle and donate items which made me feel good that others could benefit. You can reserve on line and many times see discounts they offer. Our first visit was to remove deck materials from our old deck. They are accommodating and you can get same day or next day service or any opening you choose. On line will ask you to list these items. This time I ran out of room. They confirm by email. They take just about anything and send two strong guys to remove it from anywhere in your home. Mattresses have a disposal fee based on the size. They will come out and give you a quote based on what you have. They walk through with you to see it all and it is based on 1/3, 1/2; 2/3 etc of a truck capacity. They showed me pricing. Today was 2/3 of a truck. $639+ tax+ Mattress disposal fee and. $41 discount from a promo they had. They use Square to process your credit card and a tablet to sign as well as add tip if you choose. I suggest early appointments so you start with an empty truck. I was amazed at their speed, positive attitude and friendly behavior. We prepped areas for easy access and see that they are careful not to bang up walls and floors. Zip-zip! In and out and I feel a weight off my house. I will continue to use them as needed. As soon as driver arrived, the amount went past $600. After arguing with driver, it was apparent that the initial estimate was only to get the truck on site. it was not to actually give an honest quote. So far unimpressed. Made my appt earlier in the week for a weekend so I wouldn't miss work. Got everything ready for pick up in my garage. Received texts for two days prior to appt to see if I was ready earlier. Today I received a text they'd call prior to my service window. Hour and half into my window and no call so I called. was told they called which there was no record of. They called back and explained that for a some reason my service was moved down the list and was asked if I'd reschedule. Time will tell if they actually show up tomorrow morning as promised but since the person I talked to won't be there I'm not overly optimistic. 11/6/2023 Addendum: After another slight glitch this morning, I did speak to a manager who understood my concerns and had someone come out right away. I called and got an appointment when it worked with my schedule. The two men kept me well-informed of when they planned to arrive; were on time; and very professional. They had me identify what I wanted to have removed and then did so quickly and efficiently. Filled up about 3/8 of the truck (there were items from a previous job in the truck when they arrived). Very disappointed in this service!!! They showed up 45 minutes late, damaged the furniture they took, packed the furniture in a truck with an open roof even though it was snowing heavily, charged almost $160 just to take a mattress and box spring. Their website claims to donate the furniture to charity but after the way they handled the furniture I'm assuming it was all just headed for a dumpster. Total cost was over $750 and perfectly good furniture was ruined If I would have had more time to set up another service I definitely would have used someone else! read more

They had the nerve to respond to my original comment, as if they care the least about the people who hire them. I fired them after the estimate they gave us was tripled, They came with 1 truck, and that meant they would have to make more than one trip to the dump, I asked for 3 guys and they sent 2, and after asking mid removal how much longer, as the time was being dragged out, They hadn't removed any of the appliances or, couch etc, We were charged nearly 2 thousand dollars, and they had barely taken anything away! The 2 guys were so tired they could barely stand, and the dispatcher threatened to call the police on my 86 year old mother who refused to be robbed , so I had to come and fire them , and have the college hunks complete the job! Got Junk had left the buik in her back yard, but they got it done in an hour, and for barely anything! They apologized for what these DEMONS did! I recommend them to anyone who reads this, I have filed with our attorney general here in Minneapolis, Mn where we live, and I dare that Evil woman who is responding to our complaints here with concern, it's not about that, she wants it to appear that they care, and that is a LIE! Then they have the company coming out to my house was told it's going to $159.99 is the price plus tax. I said I was told now 3 different prices Was told their contact office is in Canada and they give wrong prices. Landlord set up appt, had credit card on file. When the job was done, I (tenant) was told I needed to pay with my credit card. Before you know it, we were both charged almost $900 each, so a total of almost $1800. I have been on the phone with them for the last 4 days straight and I keep getting the run around. I suspect the person that did the job wanted me to swipe my card so they would have a chance at getting a tip. Shady for sure!!! Not to mention, totally outrageous pricing. I used their online scheduling to have a 7 cubic ft upright freezer removed - I selected the next day, 4-6pm. It was removed outside into the back alley so that they didn't have to remove it from my house. I was called at 3:40 stating they would be here at 4:00 (it was at this time that I reminded the driver what it is they're picking up and where it was located). 4:30 rolled around before I got a call with excuses as to why they didn't arrive on time and that they'd be here at 5:00. At 5:00, they show up at the front of my house. Once I directed them where to go, I got the estimate. I had no idea what to expect as I wasn't given an estimate over the phone and there are no prices listed on their website. So, they went over space in the truck and what they do with it once they take it away - freon and recycling and all that. Then they told me it was going to be $180+. Not at ALL what I expected. When I balked at the price, he told me I would get a $10 discount for them not going in my house. Then he asked how much I'd be willing to pay & he told me he could "call his manager" to see what could be worked out. I told him that wouldn't be necessary (because it would have still been too much) and that we are canceling. Had I been told how much up front, I wouldn't have wasted an extra hour sitting around waiting for them to show up only to send them away. read more
