Didn't even fix my transmission and if anything they made it worse as well. Took my car to get the transmission fixed, they "fixed it" but then it would always drop transmission fluid and I'd have to fill it up all the time, before and after driving. Few months later transmission goes bad again and they said my warranty will cover that only for them to say they fixed it but now my car has no overdrive and still dropping trans fluid everywhere and smoke coming from the transmission when I go for a drive. I strongly recommend not using this place as i brought my truck in for a leak & it appears that Petes Transmission exchanged the transmission in our low mileage truck without our permission. I regularly change the engine oil and know the underneath / bottom side of our truck and the transmission has numbers printed on it plus the oil pan on the trans is not the one which we brought in. When we picked up the truck it loudly klunked when we put into gear and is a 5 speed auto which when we drove it home had only 3rd gear, after bring it back they could not fix this problem, sent it out to another shop to be repaired and then Petes Transmission charged us around / over a thousand dollars ($1,000) for stopping a minor leak. I was robbed petes transmission was very good when it was owned by PETE. He sold it to a guy. this guy kept it the same name and same employees. this guy is a crook, he can burn the shop, burn the customers and sell it. i went in to rebuilt my transmission because thats what they told me it needed. over $1,500. they did not rebuild it. he just gave me a receipt, i payed over $1,500 just for a receipt! the worst thing that could happened, go in to shop, pay for a repair and they didnt do it, they robbed me. the guy said he rebuilt it but i found out later thru another shop when they opened up transmission that it original parts. It didnt need to be rebuilt in the first place I cant believe nowadays shop like these are still getting away with it. do not come here. your better off going to ammco or somewhere else , paying a good amount of money to rebuild your transmission with good quality parts and with real warranty. by the way this is not a fake review made by a competitor read more

Customers, ESPECIALLY women BEWARE! Pete's transmission shop In April 2013, I took my 2005 Nissan Maxima to this shop for transmission issues. I was informed by Pete that my car needed a NEW transmission. I asked if it was possible to go the route of having the existing transmission re-built. Pete said that he strongly recommended I go with a new transmission because of the "bad condition" of the old one. I decided to go with a new transmission. One week and $1600 later I picked up my car. Seven weeks after that, my car "jammed" and I had to have it towed to his shop. He claimed that a few sensors malfunctioned and they needed to be replaced. $150 more out of my pocket. January 2014 the "new" transmission goes out again. When I phoned Pete to inform him of the situation, he was less than cordial. I took the car back and there it sat for two weeks. He never returned any of my inquiring phone calls and when I did finally manage to speak with him, he was down right offensive. He said "you better pray that it's not your transmission again, because if it is, it's going to cost you A LOT OF MONEY!" I tell him that when I first took my vehicle to his shop, he guaranteed his work for one year. I only now learned that the life of a transmission is much longer than 1 year! I am now very upset and I do tell him that he is required to fix his apparently shoddy work and or a lemon of a transmission. He then proceeds to yell at me saying "you see, this is why I don't deal with stupid women!" WTH?? He certainly didn't have a problem dealing with this woman when he took her first $1750! Adding insult to injury, he said it would take ANOTHER week to go over the transmission again and put it back together. Unfortunately when I picked up my car, it was worse than when it arrived. Before I took my car back to Pete's on the 3rd go around, I took the vehicle to the Nissan dealership. They verified that the transmission was faulty, upon retrieval and a second opinion, there are signs of intentional damage to the car. The dealer has provided me with the evidence to take this individual to court. So a few thousand bucks later and over a month without a vehicle later, I am compelled to save others from this situation. Less expensive isn't always the road to travel...old school adage is appropriate...BUYER/CUSTOMER BEWARE! read more

They get 1 star for not refusing to TRY to fix the problem. Went through my personal mechanic because my cars transmission went out. Well my mechanic bought the transmission off Pete's and then put it in himself. Paid $1100 total. (my car was a 2002). A week later my car stops working while I was driving in the fast lane on the freeway. I end up towing my car to Pete's and they fix it again. Then, 2 weeks later, the same exact thing happens AGAIN. Once again I take it to Petes because I wasn't going to go pay someone else that much money. I was told my car needed a new part that was burning out my transmission. I had paid 1100 why not pay $150 more. So I did. A month later my transmission goes out again. Get it fixed. By now I am beyond frustrated. this has been an on going problem for 3 months. Then my car is finally working well. I take it for a smog check so I can then pay my tags and guess what part it failed... THE TRANSMISSION. I take it back to Petes and he fixes it. As soon as I drove out I felt my car felt different and knew something wasn't right. I had to pass my smog check so I decided to take it there first and then go back to Petes. Well it passed. & I waited a few days to see if maybe it would readjust before taking it. A week later my car leaves my in the middle of two lanes on the freeway almost causing an accident. Good thing I had AAA this entire time. They tow my car back to Petes. I spoke to Pete on the phone and he said he would try to have it ready by the next day. After not receiving a phone call the next day I stopped by and the place was closed... how are you going to have my car ready if your closed???? A man who worked there walked out the back and tells me it's no longer my transmission. REALLY!?!?!?!? My car did the SAME EXACT THING it did the previous times it F***** up! Let's just say I ended up buying a brand new car and used my broken down car as a down payment... Pete's workers may be nice but they definitely cannot fix a transmission. 5 errors later and my car is now at the junk yard :(. read more

Took my van in back last Jan and they weren't kidding about their warranty of 12.000 miles 12 months spent $2500 the trans lasted 14 months and only 24,000 miles- And the van sat for 8 days before they got to it I travel for my work and missed several job calls because of the delay. Took it in and they changed the fluid and filter and said they drove it an hour and it was fine. I drove it 5 miles and it xrapped out on me, so I called them back and they said they did all they can, And he would not cash my check for another $250, Took it to certified in upland and they fixed it and I got the 3 year 50,000 mile warranty and now another $4500 later i have piece of mind, so because of bad workmanship im into my transmission now a total of $7000 thanks to petes. There were alot of excuses on top of that my van was parked on the street out of view of the shop where it could of got hit or broken into. Nice guys but the service was less that good. Im a mechanic so i took my transmission out to get rebuilt from petes. Nothing was wrong with,just wanted a freshing up. Pete stripped a bolt,he didn't call me or let me know it was stripped,just let it sit on the shelf,I went to pick it up cause now its 1 1/2 weeks later with no call's so my guess it was done.... NOPE!!! i get the bad new when i arrived,Pete said he'll get on it (trying to find the bolt), 3 days later i just called due to no phone calls from pete again.... NOPE no luck, Now im upset, I made the trip to pick it up and try and find the bolt myself.... I DID in 1 DAY!!!! brought it back and he complete the work. So going out of my way and time lost/gas i asked for a price break.... NOPE!!! he gave me nothing and i had to pay full price and to top it off,pete tells me his time is more important then me.... That did it!!! ill NEVER GO BACK!!!! fact,i erased his number out of my phone,the place is quiet as a tomb except a few air guns at work and nobody talks to you but pete (unless he out) but seem that everyone stairs at you....weird!!. read more
