Art mentioned the job was a little more complicated than he first thought but he still only charged his original estimate because that is how he operates. Uncommon and refreshing ethic. I am sick and tired of the dealership's practice of charging $199 to diagnose a check engine light. Even though they would apply that $199 to the repair job if I opted to have them complete the repair, I wrote it off and still came out WAY AHEAD by taking the vehicle to Art's instead.

I had taken my 2012 Camry to three different shops for a torque converter issue (a known problem with my model year). Every shop told me I needed a whole new transmission and quoted me over $6,000. I had only had this car a couple months and it was lurching forward when accelerating. As a woman, it's hard not to feel like you're being taken advantage of in these situations. When I called the next morning, they had already gotten started. The oil change was done, they told me the brakes were in perfect condition, and that the car overall was in excellent shape. The only thing they recommended was new windshield wipers. I truly felt they were extremely honest, which is hard to find these days. They could have easily suggested unnecessary repairs, but they didn't--and that says everything about their integrity. Everyone there is so friendly, and I've taken other cars to them in the past with nothing but great experiences every time. I wouldn't trust another mechanic more than Brian Woods Automotive.
