I am restoring a 66 Ford Mustang and took it in to have the transmission rebuilt. There aren't many shops that have the experience to rebuild old transmissions so I was happy that there was no hesitation by the owner, Mike to do the rebuild. He was very courteous and me bring it in the next morning. During the rebuild Mike found that the transmission was missing some crucial parts necessary for down shifting. He was able to find the parts and completed the rebuild by the next day. We had a transmission failure on our class A RV. Finding a repair shop that wouldn't take six weeks to service the vehicle was a challenge. We found a shop in Azusa that completed the job in a week, including diagnostics and sending the transmission to Harrell's Transmission in Covina, where it was rebuilt and strengthened with upgraded components, and all technical service bulletins were completed. Mike and his techs there did an excellent job quickly and stood behind their work when one of the new parts failed from a manufacturing defect. Further diagnostics found an unrelated problem. Everything was repaired, and the vehicle now runs better than when it was new. Kudos to Mike and his crew at Harrell's Transmission. I would highly recommend them. read more

Many years ago I had my transmission fully rebuilt on my 1989 Ranger. Was a automatic A4LD. Problematic trans, but Mike and his team were awesome and got it rebuilt with heady duty add-ons and done right. My father has also used them for his vehicles. They have been in business for a long time, they are not a bait and switch company. I'm even taking my 2500 Cummins to have the trans rebuilt and beefed up. I have done business with this shop in the past 40 years, they were alway all right, but I hadn't had anything done since'94 or so. My old suburban started givung a bad code and then locked into 2nd gear. My Grand son in law said he has a good Christian mechanic that can check it out. I wait a week to tow it in(because there was no room) and another week before I call him He says that it needs a new trans and it will be well over $3500, then he asks for a door key because he locked the drivers key in. The worker in the shop said that they couldn't get into it because they locked the door and did not even call us. I had it towed to Harrel's and they computer chip was fried, they couldn't even get a code from it. He sent it out to get fixed, fixed the starter like I asked and then serviced the trans - there was nothing wrong with it. Years ago, I worked delivering auto parts and trans shops were all sketchy, I am so glad that we have an honest shop around. BTW, the work they did in the 70s-90s was stellar, I was very happy with them. Now that I drive old cars again, he will be my go to and you can't go wrong, either. read more

I don't even know where to start. I gave Mike a call trying to get a quote for a new transmission. Not knowing anything about cars or what's what part. He calm my fears down and told me not to jump to conclusions; maybe I didn't need a complete over haul. I took my car in on a Monday and got a call a few hours later, unfortunately the worse scenario became a reality. My car needed major repairs. He warned me my car would need to be in the shop until Friday the latest. I came by Friday afternoon, and it was still not ready. Mike offered to pay for a rental car over the weekend, kind gesture! Monday rolled around and he found another part that needed to be repaired to complete the work he preformed. Since he didn't initially quote me for this part, he didn't charge me. have a 1999 Tahoe .was stuck in limp home mode .tried a few thing to fix but needed to find a transmission shop .first headed to a place on arrow hwy.wont give name but it rhymed with scam schmoe .went there to get free code read .went twice was ignored completely by what looked like 15 people doing nothing .later heard free code read was only from 10 am to 11 am after that it was 95 dollars for a read .yikes !!. on my way back I saw Harrells transmission and pulled in for a check .met a super nice guy named Mike who came right out and did code read for free .he told me it was B shift solenoids and replaced them at a very fair price .he also in formed me it might not work and that code could also mean wire harness or PCM .Very confusing problem .went to fix every thing on list only to get to last thing on list to fix .PCM was the problem .mike took my truck in twice and honored his previous work going above and beyond to help me fix MY problem .if your looking for a honest hard working family man with a good hart look no further he is your guy ,more than fair not running any scam what so ever ..my truck is running better than it ever has .it feels like the tranny is demon possessed .my biggest problem now is to try not to mash the peddle to the floor .truck feels like a street rod .very nice .THANKS MIKE ... read more
