Communication is so important. I feel that can be lost with not having a direct number at the clinic.

Attentive vets that really listen to you and make sure your pup is comfortable. Does seem a little pricey... but the quality's there.

I wasn't expecting to write a review today... much less about an emergency vet clinic... but here…read morewe are. A week ago my little Yorkie got attacked by a cat. Took him to another emergency clinic close by and everything seemed fine. A few days later, he was acting off and took him back to that clinic and he was out on some pain meds for some spinal tenderness. Neither the emergency clinic or I noticed (even after examining him pretty thoroughly) that he had a puncture wound on the side of his jaw. Long story short, went back to that clinic today because I found him soaked in a weird bloody liquid oozing from his face and it was going to be a 4 hour wait. Figured I'd call VEG and see what their wait was and they told me to come right in and they would take care of him. Before I even got to the door, there was a VEG employee standing there to take us immediately back. I didn't even have time to look at the lobby... just straight back and immediately being looked at. Not going to lie, I didn't research VEG much since I was in immediate action mode... walking into the open concept emergency room was a little shocking. However, the care that the staff and doctors took was... beyond what I could have imagined. For what would be an agonizing amount of time where any other clinic would have taken him to the back, I was able to stay with him the entire time... even when they were working on him and cleaning up the wound I was holding him. While I don't want to say I loved the experience... I will say I loved the care and attention that every VEG employee showed. It was honestly worth every penny to bring him to VEG to be treated today. I felt like they really had his best interest at heart. I would highly recommend VEG to anyone who is in need of emergency care. The open concept can take a moment to get used to, but I think you'll find it to be far more comforting than if you were just left waiting somewhere while your pet was taken away from you. Thank you VEG. -Jonathan and Tannin

Seeing we just got out of a serious car accident and I told her my financial struggles . She then tells me I can take out a line of credit to pay for my service animal to be seen even tho he has a broken. Leg and I have a broken. Almost everything. Ribs broken etc. No car no source of income temporarily. She then proceeds to say "well you won't be seen without payment" like they just don't give a fuck . First off I didn't ask to take out a line of credit .(My credit is shit personally) I asked for RESOURCES THAT WOULD HELP fix my service animal leg I would never recommend this place of any emergency unless you're rich. Maybe then they will treat you like a human and treat your dog with respect. Even with pet Insurance you STILL have to pay UPFRONT and you'll just get reimbursed. Pet insurance is a scamm and these people don't gaf unless you're flashing money in their face. Fkkk your emergency. Literally ask the nice nasty receptionist If I can give them negative stars I would. Worst experience of my life goes to VEG

They asked for permission to give an anti seizing medicine, which I agreed to. Dr. McLaine came to the room to explain that the cat had a stroke and probable heart disease due to his past symptoms. She gave me all of the options, was very thorough. She also answered all of my questions and was honest about the costs with each option. We decided to euthanize due to his dire state, age and quality of life. The entire staff was excellent, caring and understanding. I was able to spend as much time with my kitty as I needed, and was able to hold him as he passed over. He was calm and went peacefully. This facility deserves the highest rating!

When we arrived at the clinic around 2:30 AM we were greeted by a very kind woman. She informed us that the vet on duty was about to go back for a procedure, but she would see if the vet could do a quick exam. She tenderly picked up my pup and brought him back. Shortly after the vet returned and I knew it was bad news. The vet was kind and gentle with us. The staff took care of my boy while I went home to get my kids so they could say good bye to the dog they had grown up with. They allowed us privacy and time to say goodbye, there was no rush. This was easily one of the most devastating experiences of my life. However, every single person we encountered treated us with kindness and empathy. I will forever be grateful for the staff at VCA. Thank you for all that you do.

We had a virtual urgent care call and they were concerned enough that we brought him into The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic to check in on him. After an ultrasound, they found that he had a mass on his spleen and was internally bleeding, and had to go into immediate overnight emergency surgery. The surgery was successful, and after a 36 hour hospital stay, Barkley is back home and on the mend. While this was such a scary experience and few days, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and their team. They are open 24/7/365, and provided around the clock care. Because of the length of his stay, we worked with and spoke to multiple of their veterinarians and assistants (thank you to Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Fleming, Dr. Goldberg, and Dr. Blackmon), and everyone was so kind, attentive, and caring through every step of the process, gave us calls throughout the night with updates and over the past few days to check in on Barkley's progress, and were so compassionate in all of the care they provided. Barkley was in such great hands. Thank you to the The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic team!

Making the decision to let her go was the most difficult thing we've ever had to do. Dr. Emma Houlton and her entire staff were absolutely incredible. I wouldn't have wanted any other vet there caring for her -- I knew she was safe and in the best hands despite the heartbreak of the situation. Dr. Houlton is the stellar, most perfect example of everything you want in a vet. She's an amazing person and an incredible doctor. If you need a vet, bring your pet to her. She is truly wonderful.

It is very easy to find and in a nice location. There is a separate parking lot for this ER, so you can park very close to the entrance and get your pet in quickly. The building itself is very clean and calm. There were about 6 other dogs there in the waiting but the waiting room is divided in such a way the dogs can still have privacy while waiting. Almost like little cubicles. I only waited about 20 minutes to be taken back. The vets are knowledgeable and very friendly. Our vet explained everything in detail and her nurse made our dog feel at ease. We were very happy with the service itself. Lastly, they are upfront about all costs. They don't force you into anything and give you a full breakdown of each cost. You can request notes if you need them for insurance purposes. If ever an emergency, we will definitely come back here.

We took him straight to EVE where we got our boy the care he needed from such a kind and caring staff. They checked him out and confirmed he would need surgery to remove a foreign body that was lodged in his intestines. I was so scared, but the nurses answered any questions I had and assured me he was in good hands. Leaving him there over might was really hard, but the night staff seemed to already have fallen in love with him so I knew he'd be cared for. I got multiple calls and texts over the next 24 hours with updates on hus surgery and recovery. He was even doing well enough after to be able to go home a couple hours early, and they even gave him some extra medication to help keep him calm since he's a very skiddish kitty and that night was New Years Eve and I was concerned about him hurting himself. We were given very good instructions on his aftercare, and there were no issues with his recovery. He is now fully recovered and back to his healthy, happy, playful self. Eve saved my kittens life. As far as pricing goes, they have lots of options that you can choose from as far as payment plans to help us pay for the surgery that was incredibly expensive for us. Plus, we were very happy because when we came back the next day to pick him up, they went over pricing with us again, and told us that the surgery would actually cost about $1000 less than we were quoted the night before so that lifted some weight off of our chests.

What an A+ urgent vet care experience…read more I found the spot through reading reviews here on Yelp. Unfortunately, my late, sweet angel of a Bichon Frise has recently passed, however it was extremely helpful to have brought her here to this facility to understand more in depth the severity of her medical issue. Not only is the staff here so friendly and empathetic, they are also punctual, efficient and very honest. My dog sitter ended up taking my dog here one night while we were out of town to deal with her chronic vomiting. The vet caring for her that evening spoke with me directly over the phone to go over treatment options. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty. I ended up having to take my dog back here one night a few weeks later due to the vomiting starting up again and her primary vet also suggested what she's going through needs to be handled at an actual animal hospital. This second visit was just as efficient and also they were kind enough to waive certain fees due to us returning back to them in such a short amount of time. I also like the fact that we're able to use payment plan options via Affirm. That was extremely helpful for me during this previous emotionally tumultuous season. Overall, great urgent animal care location. I highly recommend them.

He'd had a full check up within weeks and actually was at VEG about a month before for an unrelated GI issue. We had unfortunately been to several other emergency vets before making it to VEG, as we were out and about when the crisis started. I also had my little pug with me as getting care for my Great Dane was a bigger priority than taking her home. Once again the staff at VEG surrounded us with compassionate care. Nothing could have changed the outcome of the day but I am so grateful that at every moment the VEG staff was working to save my dog and caring so much for all of our comfort. They immediately got several large beds and a blanket for him to lie down and offered me a cushion. They handled him with love and checked on us in so many ways. And they tried. At one point we had something like 6 people working to stabilize him and everyone was focused and on task. I felt they worked on him not like a job but as if he was their own. I know its hard to work on a holiday and I know his death was emotional for everyone. But thank you all because at least I was with him to the very end and he knew he was being cared for. Being able to be with your dog throughout care is such a meaningful difference in the veterinary industry and in both owners and pets experience with vet care, and I feel like VEG always has such caring people. Thank you, though honestly have to say I'm hoping to see you all less in 2026.
