Did some research and found that they were almost 3 times the average price of the same breed of puppy, Cavapoo, that you could purchase elsewhere. I purchased my puppy from a reputable breeder (the same as Petland is supposed to do) for less than half of what Petland was asking. And that included a $575 delivery fee to have my puppy driven from 10 hours away and hand-delivered to my home. Also, the puppies that I looked at and played with at Petland left me with quite a bit of odor on my clothing, so much that I actually had to wash my jacket the next day. Be careful what you buy at pet land. The return policy is pretty much zero on all items. They tell you the puppy comes with puppy replacement and puppy training kits. They don't your receipt will show $500 in additional charge. At the bottom no return on most of the items. Also be very careful buying puppies there because crated animals will without doubt begin to eat poop. Uneducated people will say otherwise. Petland employees. But pay attention while there. If a pup poops. The employees instantly clean to prevent customers from seeing the pup eat it. If a dog has to poop it will poop. But will eat it to clean its domain. My pup was loaded with worms and required 14 days of treatment. From eating poo. I still have to watch him every closely because he still wants to eat it. Even when pooping outside. Be very careful buying at petland. If I ever buy another puppy it will never be at Petland. read more

The process was smooth, we worked with Mary, who called us every day after we made the first phone call. We don't live in the area, but we visited twice before committing. We asked a ton of questions and was provided reassurance time and time again that the puppies were healthy and that they took pride in selecting top breeders to ensure authenticity. During our third visit seeing Asher we decided to adopt him. After a few months after being home with our ShihPoo he totally began to look different than he did when we first got him. Although we were told that he was 50% shih tzu and 50% poodle, and provided photos of his parents, we learned that our puppy is mixed with four breeds. The photos of his parents are totally false. During our visits we were told that the puppy came home with everything they needed which was included in the price (crate, teddy bear, food, an additive to make the puppy eat, non-marking spray etc.) Long story short, the financing for our puppy was $1000.00 more than what our receipt says. I am now in the process of trying to work this out with them and called the store, talked to Mary (whom may I remind you called/texted me multiple times a day everyday) yet now I'm being given the run around. We love our puppy, he's become a major part of our family, and I wouldn't change him for the world, however the way these people do business is criminal and I would not recommend them to anyone. They are sales agents. they don't care about you, your family or these puppies. They just want to make a sale. I mean really hustled me to get me in there to look at puppies and then I went and made an appointment on the phone and then I went to Yelp to look at the reviews and they have some seriously bad reviews as in getting a puppy that was coughing and later on spending thousands on vet bills in an emergency with pneumonia and the like. While considering purchasing the puppy for my husband, who is an AirforceVet of 29 years, the puppy coughed a couple of times. I then asked the salesperson, Hallie, why he was coughing. She stated he must have drank something. Though he was damp from just getting a bath. She stated she would go ask. A few minutes later, she came back and said everything was fine. So trusting the sales person. I purchased the puppy. 3 days later, we ended up in the Animal ER. With upper respiratory infection/pneumonia. Was given 3 antibiotics fluid for dehydration and bloodwork. The Next day which was Monday which was day for of having the puppy we took the pet to Petlands Veterinarian. Parkway Veterinarian Center. I brought a 10 week old puppy from them at the end of November for a new companion for my 10 year old Italian Greyhound Chico. I thought that the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and I understood that my dog couldn't be in the room with the puppy cause I didn't know that I needed the paperwork showing he was up to date with his vaccinations and one of the employees offered to hold my dogs leash so I could go into the room with Vitio and he had pneumonia after I got him I took him to a vet within the the first 48 hours at that time the they had it down he had a cough and I was reimbursement for everything I spent to get him healthy he is now almost seven months old now a happy health addition to the family and both dogs get along great I also looked up the kennel online and was able to get in touch with the breeder and are now Facebook friends and she has sent me pictures of the mother and father and I have sent her pictures of Vitio and how how he is growing. They sold me a puppy that was supposed to be a Great Pyrenees / Poodle mix (pyredoodle) after bringing the puppy home I didn't see any poodle resemblance. I did a DNA test and dog came back as 100% Great Pyrenees. Also the breeder on the breed certificate had a different last name then the USDA check up form that was given by Petland and breeder is no longer listed with them. I gifted the dog because I would not be able to house a dog that would be that large nor able to handle the shedding, which is why we bought bought a poodle mix. We bought two puppies from Petland. A cockalier in 2015 and a chihuahua in 2016. Both have the best temperament! I think all the folks that come and play with them definitely helps with that early on socializing. Horribly expensive for puppies and their health is questionable. We recently had to put our little Yorkie to sleep due to congenital Hip Dysplasia. We purchased her as a puppy from Petland-Bradenton and was only 3.5 years old when we put her down. Even our veterinarian (who is suggested by Petland) says they see a lot of problems with pets from Petland. The Sarasota Petland told our family that the Bradenton Petland doesn't work closely with the dogs or the vet. None of those girls paid attention. Those two are in their own little world talking about personal things. Each store has an owner that has their own way of doing things. I met with this owner before shopping here. He really cares about the animals at his location. He does NOT get his dogs from puppy mills. Now that I've said that, I obtained my rottie puppy from this store along with my kitten. He actually gave me the contact information for the breeders he got her from. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They go through a great deal of training, too. He is half Shih Tzu and half Yorkshire Terrier. All the paperwork says that his father was a Shih Tzu and his mother was a Shih Tzu. The breeder lied and the store lied. On top of all that, on our puppy's first vet visit, we were told he had kennel cough. We bought our new puppy from this petland in October. We had just lost our victorian bulldog that we bought from petland 11 years ago. Point being, their dogs are NOT all sick. Our bulldog led a very long healthy life. Our new puppy has been amazing. Yes he was very expensive but we could not have been more happy with the service.
