Hey Petland! Just want to give a BIG THANK YOU for the sick puppy you sold me last week. Yeah, she's doing horrible. First day I bought this shiba inu, she didn't eat for the first 36 hours so I had to hurry to the vet in Flint missing school which pays my bills. Found out she was sick but you guys said it was a coincidence. First of all every animal there smells like feces and urine I've personally seen them lay on it and that's what she's doing too. She doesn't care about lying on top of her own waste in my house. Second they're constantly fighting with other breeds in the same cage. I even had to tell one of the handlers to wash her. The following days after she had diarrhea, constant vomiting and yellow mucus coming out of her nose. Called again and petland said I had to pay the second visit. After visiting the vet, finally found out it was Petlands fault and the vet charged the second visit (thank god). I wasn't going to post this but it's 0400 and I'm cleaning vomit and diarrhea from my other shiba that I didn't buy from Petland. Yup, he has a stomach virus now. That's what you will see in the third picture. People of East Texas, this what happens when you buy from a place that doesn't care for their animals. You pay over $2800 but after you sign the paper, they will fight to not spend a dime for you. I hope you're reading this because I will be coming back to your store for the pet training. I would love to hear how hurt you guys are from this review since it's the truth and more photos will come from my second dog that WAS HEALTHY. I will be sharing this to other places. I hope this doesn't happen to others. I hate to see animals suffer and I've only had her in my household for a week. I'm glad Flint Veterinary Clinic was there for me through this. At least they're helpful and honest people. I was skeptical at first since they are connected to Petland but they have proven to me they're not affiliated with their sales. read more

This place is absolutely despicable. They don't take care of the animals and only care about making money. Their dogs are severely underfed and underweight. Animals are never given medical attention. Sick dogs get sent back to the breeder or SOLD TO COSTUMERS WITHOUT THEM KNOWING THE ANIMALS IS SICK. But worst of all, really sick animals don't get taken to the vet, or put down, THEY GET PUT IN THE FREEZER. If you really want a dog, get a rescue dog and don't buy into suck a cruel system. I got my dream dog today a dorgy ( Dotson and a corgi mix ) Taylor was an awesome help I wouldn't have got the dog if it wasn't for her she has a great attitude and was very nice and was very helpful. If you are looking for a puppy I would definitely recommend Petland. read more

Don't ever go to Petland to buy a pet. The pets are sickly, poorly cared for and very thin. You'll be charged an enormous amount for a sick dog. Someone needs to stop the inhumane treatment of these innocent animals. read more

I was just in shopping. And there prices are ridiculous. 3100$ for a pug puppy I bought my pug acl registered for 500$ from another pet shop. Also the birds were very high priced and didn't look like they were cared for properly. My advice don't shop hear unless you want to waste boat loads of money. read more

Came in wanting the bichon poo and was trying my hardest to get him when I found out I didn't get approve they found every way to help me and turned out I did the application wrong and they were very very helpful and when I got approved they were very patient, helpful and helped me pick out the best stuff to make me dog feel comfortable and home. I will never shop Petland in Tyler again. Russell the manager was supposed to order me a fish tank sense right after Christmas, well needless to say there was always some excuse as to why it never came in from week to week. Oh it's on the truck the truck will be here tomorrow. Well the truck came but it wasn't on there. Finally today after being put off for weeks and him getting his employees to screen his calls put me on hold for over 30 minuets mind you they told me he was there at the beginning of the call when someone finally picked up the phone again said he was gone for the day. That's pretty chicken shit you don't have the nerve to tell me yourself that you can't get something you told me you could 2 1/2 months ago. I have done business with Petland for years buying fish and aquariums but never again, not as long as Russell is there. If I could rate this store with a big fat 0 I would. So that one star is a -1 star read more

Terrible customer service. My dog eats a special dog food due to weight issues. Went to the store last week to get the food I have been buying from this store for years. They were out but I was told by the employee who orders that the food would be in their shipment on Tuesday. I am in the area in the late afternoon so I call. The shipment is not in yet. I wait around for hours keeping myself busy. I go back in the evening. I am told the food is here but 1 guy is in charge of unloading the entire 8 pallet shipment and he has not gotten to this food yet. I explain to him that my dog is out of food and I have been trying since last week to get it from them. Instead of offering to go look to see if he can locate it easily or take my number to call me when it is available he sits on top of his ladder saying he is the only one who can get these pallets unpacked and I will have to come back later. I go back today when the store opens still no food. I ask to talk to the manager to explain why they are losing a long time customer but apparently they are too busy to talk with me. Keep in mind there is only one other customer in the store and he was not needing attention. I was very calm while I recited my issues to the cashier so she could relay it to the manager. I owned a very busy business for 11 years and I know not to get emotionally worked up during these type of encounters because it is counter productive. I am writing this review in hopes the manager of Petland on Broadway will read it and make adjustments for future customers....it is too late for me. read more

Petland, Tyler had a special, parakeet & cage for $24.95. My wife's mother is 90 years old & just now alone, she lost her husband & small dog all within a year. We decided to get her the parakeet deal. Within 30 days, the parakeet died & she was already attached to it. We made a special trip back to Petland for another parakeet This time my wife bought two (2) parakeet's. Bought the birds on Tues. & one (1) was dead by Thurs. night. We took the one left alive home & so far it is doing well. Emailed Petland about the birds that died both times & have yet to hear anything from them. Like a fool, we bought two more birds from them. Well, nothing from Petland ever again. If you want to know about the complaints on Petland, just look at Petland complaints, nearly 600 complaints. We will use Petco, at least they will talk with you!!!! read more

Not exactly the most humane of pet shops. The leopard geckos were starving. The "green" anoles were huddling under an extremely low wattage heat bulb. The chameleons were stressed and the the crested geckos were just as. A chihuahua pup's feet were slipping through the wire floor on which it was trying to stand. This place left a really bad taste in my mouth and even if they were keeping their animals in adequate conditions, their prices were discouraging. I feel that this place was established well enough to know better and to be able to take better care of the animals they wanted to sell to me. Sorry guys. read more

I just called to get the price of a puppy that I saw online and they refused to give me the price! They stated that it is Petland's policy that they not divulge the price until you make an appointment and see the dog in person! ?????????? What ??????????? I told them that I live an hour and a half away and I didn't want to drive that far if the pup was out of my price range. I even asked for a ballpark figure $1000's, $5,000's anything close and he refused to tell me. He did let me know that they had financing available though which leads me to belive that the pup is probably way overpriced and they want you to see it in person so you will get attached and throw all logic out the window and finance it. I wouldn't go view a car or anything else for that matter if someone refused to tell me the price before looking at it! I don't usually write reviews on places, but this whole interaction with Petland was just messed up! It seems sketchy! Be wary! read more

i love the place because i'm an animal person, but the employees are probably the rudest people i've come in contact with very clean environment but the employees are always so disrespectful i've been in here more than 6 times now and every time they've made me feel obligated to rush and leave. read more

As a general preference I like shopping this location... HOWEVER on Aug 23rd I was helped by one of the rudest employees...CLINT. He thought he knew the fish area but when I told him what fish I wanted he acted as if he didn't want to sell them to me. He kept telling me I couldn't put them in the same tank. I was only getting a couple more of the same ones I already have in my aquarium because I enjoy them. They all do get along in my community tank. So CLINT I have 1 thing to say ---- When a customer tells you what they want don't argue with them. Even if I got the fish home and something happened, not tank water related, it's my money that was lost NOT YOURS. Petland you need to seriously pay more attention to the fact that the Customer is Right. read more

Great, friendly atmosphere and the employees clearly love animals and what they do. A lot of the workers seem to know just about everything you need to know for whatever pet you're wanting to get, and I've seen them let the puppies run around the store and play later in the day when it's slow which is great for the puppies happiness. The prices are a little bit more steep than other pet stores but I don't see other pet stores making the same effort to comfort the animals while they have them, either. As an animal lover, that totally makes a difference to me. read more
