The front of the store feels oddly sparse. Not empty exactly... just unfinished. Wide spaces, lighter shelves, and a vibe that somehow lands somewhere between "we're restocking" and "grand opening coming soon." Every single time I walk in, I have the same reaction: "Huh... this place feels a little off." And yet, I keep coming back because somehow they always end up having what I need. Once you make your way deeper into the store, the experience changes completely. The back half is loaded. Pet food stacked high. Toys everywhere. Beds, treats, leashes, tanks, scratching posts... the inventory suddenly goes from "minimalist pet boutique" to "warehouse for spoiled golden retrievers." And honestly, the convenience factor here is huge. Need food? They have it. Need toys your dog will destroy in eleven minutes? Covered. Need vet services without planning your entire week around it? They've got that too. The employees have always been perfectly fine to deal with and the store gets the job done. That's really the best way to describe this location: it gets the job done. But there's something about the overall atmosphere that never fully clicks for me. It's hard to explain. The store isn't dirty. It isn't poorly run. It isn't bad. It just always feels like it's missing something invisible. Like the retail equivalent of a sentence that almost finished its thought. In the end, it's an average experience. BUYER BEWARE...I got my puppy in March, she is a Toy Poodle, she is now 8 months and she is…read moreadorable, she's vey small (currently 4 pounds) I had to wait this long to spay her because she is so small. I got her at 2.3 pounds, I had to wait till she got bigger. Well she hits 4 pounds and it's time to get her spayed. She is so small I have to go to a specialty hospital. Blood needs to tested before a spay takes place to make sure all is well with the puppy, when they drew the blood for testing, my dog would not stop bleeding, just from a needle puncture, the vet was concerned about that and he ran more test!!! Turns out my puppy has Von Williebrand disease, it's a blood clotting disorder, it's very rear in small breeds, it's seen more in Doberman Pinschers, It cost me a small fortune to get her spayed, but that neither here or there, I had the money to get her through this! I wanted keep my happy little puppy well, had I NOT had the money for further test my puppy could have bled out while getting spayed at a regular Veterinarian not equipped or experience to do surgery on a dog like mine. I took her to a great SPECIALTY hospital in Wellington, Florida called ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Palm Beach County They did a great job with my puppy, Dr. Alec Sherman is the BEST Thank you!!! I usually visit a larger chain store across the street but will come to pet supermarket too. I decided to leave a review for the one close by my home in West Boca after a recent visit. I personally have never had a bad experience at this location. Although a smaller store, they always seem to have my food in stock unlike the larger store across the street. that being said because it is smaller, they do not have as big of a selection as some of the other pet chains, but, they do have everything you need, including a good selection for both dogs and cats as well as small animals. They have a aquatic area as well as live animals for sale. On this visit, I noticed that they just installed a pet wash area too which is really cool. Typically the staff is attentive and even today the young gentleman who checked me out was super friendly telling me all about a new product that they were displaying at the register. However, I was somewhat disappointed because I saw another shopper and her young child excited about a guinea pig that they were interested in purchasing. I stopped to admire the little creature They were looking at and have a quick chat with them. They were enamored by the little guy and wanted the opportunity to get him out of the cage and visit with him. The mother asked one of the staff if somebody could take the guinea pig out for them. The staff was busy, understandably, with restocking the shelves as they just received a truck full of merchandise that was stacked throughout the store. So the young worker told the lady that they were too busy to help her with the guinea pig and that maybe she could come back later. I thought that was extremely rude and very disappointing Because this woman and her child were clearly excited about the guinea pig and we're probably going to purchase it. I told her she should seek out the manager or at least another staff member to ask if somebody could help her with the guinea pig. For me that was horrible customer service especially when you have a young child so excited to possibly be purchasing his first pet. When I was making my purchase, I even mentioned it to the young man who was checking me out, so I hope that somebody finally went to help her. Like I said, I've never had a problem there, but this was disappointing to see. Overall I've always had a pleasant experience at pet supermarket and will continue to visit when needed but hopefully they'll train their staff to honor the customers needs first so something like that does not happen again.
