Luckily I had gotten there first and his guy in the back was already working on my watches. In the meantime, I got to talked him about some of the coins and other wares that he had in his store and listened to the interesting conversations from everybody else coming in. They were only able to replace the batteries in three of my watches, and did so in about 5 minutes for $5 a pop. The other two, he recommended a jewelry repair shop down the road called Ed's. It was a very short experience but a very pleasurable one and something that you rarely see anymore. It's almost like I was on Mayberry Street in. Andy Griffith. I came down here and showed them my two watches and was quoted a price and left. Super simple, super quick, super friendly. I said there wasn't a rush because I was going to be out of town for 2 weeks. They said "that's fine, just stop by when you get back in town". I stopped by 2 weeks later and was able to pick up one of my watches, working perfectly. My other watch, they couldn't find. They said that their watch repairman takes the watches home and it must still be there but they weren't sure, but they would give me a call if they found it. This very much annoyed me, especially since I drove about 20 minutes to get there. I left and headed home in about 15 minutes later, I got a call saying they they had found the watch but had just misplaced it and I could come back and get it. I was already at home so I didn't return until the following day. When I went to pick up my watch the following day, they had it ready but told me that they called three of their parts suppliers and nobody had the part they needed, so they weren't able to fix it for me. I completely understand that, it just kind of added to the frustration of having to go back and forth and back and forth. I would come here again, because compared to some other places I've been to, they were very nice. This particular instance was just a bit frustrating and annoying.
