I really wanted to like this place. The reviews were great and pictures made the pizza look amazing, what could go wrong? We got the medium petrilli's specialty pizza and it was so disappointing. The crust was hard on the edges and incredibly soggy in the middle, I didn't even want to eat the center pieces. I also found the cheese to be really oily and kind of rubbery - there was minimal stretch when I lifted a slice, it just broke off in chunks. The whole experience reminded me of the pizzas you get at the grocery store to bake at home and you over cook it a little. I will give them credit for the size of the pizza itself along with the amount of toppings given though. The medium was the size of a Costco pizza with a massive amount of sausage on top. I don't think I would come back here; as someone who has a never ending pizza craving, I can definitely say that I will not be craving this pizza. read more

A friend recommended Petrilli's Pizza. We drove to Upland and bought a small Petrilli's Special to go. It was somewhat better than the best pizza we had eaten up 'til then. The toppings were mountainous. Tons of them. (I exaggerate - probably not more than 50 or 60 lbs on the small.) The Italian sausage was amazing - big old chunks. We are two 60-somethings, and we got more than two meals each from a small. The next time we called ahead. It took 20 minutes to get there and 20 back to the house. Well worth the drive. read more

This an excellent pizza! the ingredients and portions incredible. We ordered 3 of the large pizza's recently for my daughters birthday, and really it's not the same like a Pizza Hut or Domino's Pizza party-it has nothing to that feel. Instead all the family and guest truly felt like they had a great meal! add the buffalo wings and really and one of the best I have had. We had a lot of guest and I was worried that there would not be enough, but we ended up with exactly have the pizza left to us and I was more then happy to have it the next couple of days. I ordered a middle size pizza with 2 toppings, total amount is about $21.00. The pizza is little bit salty, I am not sure that it is cheese or pepperoni salty.and I didn't get a lot of toppings as people mentioned, and it is just like a regular pizza from anywhere.And I can get a better pizza from the around table with more toppings at the same price. After moving from the LA area to the IE it was extremely difficult finding a decent pizza place that could compare to my old spot. This place was awesome, the pizza was delicious, it was just perfect. It had a nice crisp curst which if my favorite, the meats it was topped with was flavorful and the veggies were fresh. Moved to SoCal about six months ago and began the search for awesome local pie. This place and Guido's are both my top choices. Very different styles, but if you like a very hearty & full flavor pizza then Petrilli's is a great choice. Downside, if it can even be called that, is that most are unable to eat more than 2-3 slices of a large pizza. It is that packed with goodies. I lived in Claremont for 4 years going to Harvey Mudd College. About halfway through my time there, I found Petrelli's on Yelp; after that, I'd go about once a month or so and get a large pizza (while expensive, it'd be enough to feed a couple people for a few days, so I'd eat that for dinner for like a week). Since then, I've lived two years in San Francisco, have been looking for a great pizza place, and have came up empty. So, when I came back to Claremont recruiting, I knew I had to stop by and see if this place was as good as I remembered. It was. Their pizzas are the best blend of American and Italian; a ridiculous amount of excellent toppings mixed with a genuinely great crust and sauce. Their large pizzas, as I said, get you a good week of delicious pizza; despite being expensive, it's a LOT of food. This time, since it was around noon-ish, I grabbed their lunch special. Usually a single person pizza isn't enough to hold me over; their one, I probably could've shared with another person and been good. The salad, while solid, wasn't anything particularly special. There are probably 3 or 4 restaurants in Claremont that I look back on fondly from my time in college; this place is far and away at the top of that list; also, pro-tip for any college students, this place doesn't have booze, but the grocery store across the way has really cheap beer and wine.
