When we asked if someone could help us, one of the employees responded, "You're gonna have to wait your turn, pal," and then walked away toward the back. This was not simply a matter of having to wait. The problem was the employee's disrespectful tone, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for the customers standing there needing assistance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking customers to wait when employees are busy, but there is a professional and respectful way to communicate that. Management needs to seriously look into the behavior and customer-service standards at this location. Customers are the reason the business is operating, and they should not be made to feel ignored, disrespected, or like they are bothering employees by asking for help. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses the behavior appropriately. The employees representing Pilot should understand that their attitude and behavior directly affect the company's reputation.

They are fair, cost effective and straightforward, providing information, advice and options along the way. The owner is the type who tells you what's needed, what may be needed in the near future, and even when its potentially time to let the vehicle go because repairs are going to get costly. They respect the customers' interests. A trustworthy and skilled mechanic is a gem. That's why we keep going back.

He had some interesting things to say about the O'Hare Wrecking Service from Chicago that is currently on the Speed Channel...Wrecked TV show. He called them first to see if they could take me in...glad they did. Brian the owner was kind enough to get me right in...get the parts and send me on my way without the price gouging I have seen in some dealerships. Linda...his receptionist (and Mother-in law) was a hoot! She was entertaining to listen to and gave me a preferred customer discount...while Brian was away! Anyone in the Chicago area would benefit from the drive...to get their vehicle routinely worked on at their shop.

I've trusted our 1998 Ford Ranger, 2005 Toyota Camry, 1985 Mustang GT and 1967 Chevy Nova to Matt O'connell and have recommended his shop to others. Our 2014 Toyota Rav4 will also be taken to A1 if the need arises. You can talk to the owner and he doesn't roll his eyes at you. He listens to what you have to say then gives you his thoughts without being condescending. If something comes up during the repair Matt takes the time to call, fill you in and makes sure you understand what needs to be done.

I have been coming here for years as I my family lives in Munster. I walk in, as the attendant who is counting money and didn't seem to want to be bothered with my request. I said I'd like $20 of gas. Rudely points to a little sign on the side of the register asking you to know what pump you're at. I said I didn't know. So I looked out the door, I said I am across from pump 9 so that must be pump 10 he said... I go out there to pump and no gas! Run back inside and the airhead working there says Ok go back out there. Again, NO gas! I go in a third time and he says somebody stole my gas. Who steals $20 of gas in Munster, Indiana on a Sunday morning? Somebody just pumped $21.30 worth of gas. How does that amount match the $20 I gave him? In walks a female customer who has absolutely nothing to do with the incident points to the sign that says know your pump number. I have a few choice words for her too! Like mind your own business! I told him I was across from pump 9. He works there, not me! I'm responsible for this attendant's mistakes. I threaten to call police, he rudely says I call them for you! I wait and tables are turned to make the customer look like the thief and troublemaker. This gas station has changed hands and is run like a sh*t hole. No responsibility on their part. Police arrive and I have an incident report and the owners number. I guess you're not allowed to get irate if you fork over 20 bucks to a business and do not get your gas!~ NO RESPONSIBILITY ON THEIR PART! It's not about the 20 bucks it's about the principle. Poor way to run a business and ALL of us should be aware and it would be wise NOT to patronize this establishment if they do not know how to treat customers! DO NOT PAY WITH CASH HERE! ... I took two vehicles here recently for oil changes. They used to have an oil change bay next to the…read morewaiting area and you could watch the techs service your vehicle through a window. They now use the old car wash bay, which is a stand alone building and is across the lot. When it's cold outside, they close the doors and you can't see your vehicle. I'm not a fan of that. Also, they don't use floor mat protectors. So I ended up with a big, greasy boot print on my light colored mat. I should have complained. But I was in a hurry. On the positive side, the employees were all pleasant and cordial. But I'm not sure I'll go back, mainly due to the fully enclosed oil change bay.
