We used to buy our dog's food here when he was a puppy, but then I switched his food because he started having some digestive issues. Now that we are feeding him a different brand of food, he's doing really well. I really like this pet store! The owner is very friendly. My dog ran out of pet food, so I had to call around to see which store locally had her food--Pet's Corner had it (!) but they were 15-minutes to closing. The owner said she could hold out five or ten minutes for me to arrive and leave it at the front check-out. I made it before they closed and I easily was able to check-out before closing. Her kindness was everything after a busy day, and gave me the peace of mind for my dog! Bonus, they have metered parking around the store (front and the side) so it was a zip in/out. Thank you! #142/2016 I'm glad to see this business occupy the busy corner of Arguello and Geary for several years. They must be doing something right. I literally limped in on the way back to my car to buy a cat bed. Severely asthmatic (I'm allergic to cats but I love them) I need to find a way for my tabby/tortie/tiger mix to stop love mauling me whilst I sleep. ("Please darling, not tonight.") She's on my head, she's on my chest, she's beside my head when I wake. She's a rescue; she's making up for some lost lovin'. Jen the owner is a dog walker and she knows a lot about dogs. This is always been my favorite go to place when I need something. I have always adore small local businesses. They are the backbone of our lives and this one deserves all the praises. I been going there waaaaay before I established my business and before Jen bought the place. They have all the items with either cheaper price than other major pet stores like Petfood Express or Petco. I like coming here to see what other new items she may have. Also she will donate goods that I will sent to local Shelters or Humane Society. So you can see why I gave them 5 stars. Always the small business that will care about their community. I will not be shopping at Pet's corner much anymore - not because of anything they did, but because I just lost my wonderful yellow lab yesterday. I strongly encourage anyone reading this review to shop at Pet's corner for all of your pet needs. When I first went there 2 years ago, little did I know how special Jonathan is. What began as a convenient local store that I wanted to support turned into a friendship for us and a loving environment for my special dog, Sadie. Whenever we came by, Jonathon was ready for a treat for Sadie. Murphy, the resident Bernese, would welcome Sadie and hang out with her. When we wanted something in particular, Jonathan would get it for us. When Sadie began to have health issues, Jonathon would help with suggestions and advice that was always welcome and helpful. Many times when I was in the store I would hear Jonathon giving helpful advice to others for their pets - not only dogs, but cats, rabbits, and other types of animals. Jonathan would also watch Sadie on occasion when I traveled. He would take her for walks with Murphy and send us pictures every day. He would take Sadie to work with him and she would "work" at the store greeting people and letting the kids pet her. Numerous times when I was walking her in the area people would stop and ask if she was Sadie from Pet's Corner. As Sadie started having heart issues and had to start taking medications (and refused to eat Pill Pockets), Jonathon had suggestions for feeding her and giving her the needed medication. He even gave us samples of these frozen raw nuggets that he used for his dog and fed to Sadie when she was there. Everything he suggested worked - especially the raw food. When we learned that Sadie's time was going to be limited, Jonathan would occasionally ask if he could watch Sadie at the store so that he could spend some time with her. In fact when I stopped by with Sadie on Saturday to pick up some food, he asked if he could watch her for a few hours. Sadie had a wonderful afternoon at the store with Jonathan and Murphy, her boyfriend. Jonathan helped to keep Sadie happy right up until the end. He is a special person that loves animals and it shows in how he runs Pet's Corner and how he warmly treats his customers. I give Pet's Corner 5 stars and would rate them higher if I could. read more

This place is great, just absolutely amazing!! I walked in real quick on my lunch break looking for an interactive toy for my little dog. I explained to the owner exactly what I was looking for and why I needed it and within 1 minute he found me the perfect toy!! I also told her how I carry dog treats with me on my delivery route and she offered to give me some for free. My little dog has been playing with this toy for the last 2 hours ever since I got home from work and hasn't put it down yet. In the two years that we've had him he's only had one other toy that he has loved that much. But that toy he likes to push off the end of my bed and then bark at me to get it back for him. And I do despite the fact that I worked 10 to 14 hours that day. So the toy that she showed me that has a rope and a stick so I can hold on to the stick and bring it back up off the bed while still staying comfortable is not only an amazing toy for him but also for me!! The place has amazing selection stuff for every animal and I'm just guessing that if she doesn't have it she'll know where to get it or we'll get it for you!! Really friendly and helpful unassuming neighborhood spot. Their selection is surprisingly diverse making really good use of their precious SF footage. Prices were fair too which is a plus. Went in to see what kind of dog food to switch out the grain free mix with (more studies linking it with heart problems) and was grateful to see the same Fromm brand offered but it's non-grain-free version. They then set me up with a cool Fromm rewards program where eventually 1 bag will be free after the first 12 bags (I'm already 4 bags in from other stores, dang it). The staff is so knowledgeable too. Directed me to exactly what I was pondering about (something to ease my dog's potential flight anxiety). I just got a Westie puppy and Jonathan was so incredible in helping me with getting our 11 week puppy to go on potty pads instead of our rugs. We live in an apartment and our puppy has to stay indoors until he is 16weeks old. I was dying from anxiety and complete sleeplessness. He even got on a FaceTime call to explain how to do it using a sketch that he actually whiteboarded. The store was well stocked and we bought the food and treats are at 60 percent of Amazons price. This great little pet shop is conveniently located on the corner of Geary/Arguello right across the street from my vet, Arguello Pet Hospital. It has to be a mom/pop operation because it's nicely curated with all your pet needs and an extra focus on high quality products. I recently made a stop in there post vet exam to buy a new doggie toothbrush and toothpaste. Not only was the person at the counter super friendly but, I was in and out in no time. Pop in here if you want some of the better prices in town for everything including dog food. They have high end brands at comparable prices to the big online retailers. Support local! read more

For a small independent pet store like this, I'd expect the prices to be a little bit higher than your big chains, but the personalities running the store and the service to be so good that you don't mind paying a little bit more. Well it's not more expensive but that second part is an understatement. Jonathan is not a pushy salesperson. He's also not a $10/hour employee that knows absolutely nothing about animals. He's the owner of both the business, and the gentle giant Murphy you see in the pictures. He's gotta be a dog lover too, because he wants to meet every dog that comes in there, and if you don't bring your dog with you he'll be disappointed. What I find most important is that he's done all the research on the products he's offering. He knows his pet food and treats! What's in it, why some foods are better than others, what might bother your pet's stomach....He even helped solve my puppy's not so solid poop dilemma in about a day. I'm pretty sure he knows more than my vet does about this stuff, and not just for dogs, but cats as well. He's also pretty good on pet behavior. I've seen him encourage dog socialization right inside the store with the help of Murphy. He even taught my pup to sit in about 3 minutes right when I got him. You can actually make it there on a weekday after work because they don't close until 8pm. And they're right on Geary and Arguello so parking over there isn't really that big of a deal. So bring your dog (or cat) over to Pet's Corner next time you need pet supplies. read more

I don't have a dog or cat, so this review is mainly for the owners and their ADORABLE Bernese Mountain dog, Murphy!! The owners are super nice and Murphy is pure lovable wonderfulness!! My friend said we had to go in and see him and I'm so glad we did! :) He's extremely smart and the owners said he's a great family dog because the breed is loyal and friendly. We played with him for a good 20 minutes and the best part was probably when he sat on me and gave me a bunch of wet doggie kisses :D Pet's Corner is offering 10% off for their grand opening, so I'd recommend coming in to get some supplies, food, etc for your pets! read more

We were visiting San Francisco for half a week and wanted to get our little dog a gift for when we returned home. Reading the excellent reviews on Yelp, we ventured into the store hoping to find some locally produced treats, or something that was indicative of San Francisco. Sadly, while the products and toys here are very high quality, and ones that I would buy for my dog if I were living here, I didn't find anything particularly San Francisco specific. I did pick up a small rubber squeaky ball that is my dog's new favorite toy, so all was not in vain! In addition to dog and cat items, they do have a very basic, very small section for small animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits, but I wouldn't go here to shop if I had just small animal supplies that I needed. read more

I absolutely love Bernese mountain dogs. One day I came across a review on Pet's Corner and saw the pictures of Murphy, and immediately I thought to myself, "I've got to visit this store!" Parking on this section of Geary wasn't a problem, and we actually parked right in front of the store. As we walked in, the owner warmly greeted us, and Murphy, who was laying down in front the cash register, got up also and walked towards us as if he was welcoming us into the store! Awww....I love this place already! We took our golden retriever along, so while Murphy and him were getting acquainted with each other, we browsed the store for treats and toys. The owner (didn't get his name) was nice as he helped us with product recommendation. Since our golden is a puller, he had us tried the Easy Walk harness and walked around the block. It worked perfect, and my dog stopped the pulling right way. Since there's no other pet stores (including big chains) near by, Pet's Corner is an easy stop to pick up essential items such as food and treats. They carry quality brands of food: Wellness, Innova, Orijen, etc. Great store overall. read more

I saw the Yelp reviews and got the chance to check it out a few weeks ago after work. I was on the lookout for Warriors gear for pets, and this store had it! I got a scarf for my parents' dog, Chewy, and to my dismay he didn't like wearing it. But it was only $11, and now hangs in my parents' car. They have a huge selection of food products to choose from. There's also a variety of accessories to choose from. And the prices are good too. If my parents lived closer, this would be my one-stop shop for Chewy's needs. But I do plan to come here in the future upon requests from my parents. read more
