After that first visit we both agreed that this was head and shoulders above any other groomers we had utilized and felt very comfortable with bringing our pup here. He was always very well taken care of and happy upon pickup, not to mention clean and groomed! Now almost a year and a half later we now have two double doodles and frequent Canine Design every few months. Both dogs have had zero issues there and the staff is very attentive and caring during every visit. I would recommend Canine Design to anyone looking to get their pups groomed and will continue to visit as long as we are in Connecticut.

Rushing in 10 minutes before closing, the staff was BEYOND helpful and generous! They showed me everything I would need for a beginner such as myself, food, propper beding, viatamin C suppliments, ect. One of the guineas however had an upper respiratory infection. When I brought her in to Petco they suggested I leave both her for treatment and watch for two weeks. I took their advice and have no regrets. They have a vet they take all their animals to, and my guineas got checked out and put on some medication. The employees handled and did an amazing job taking care of my pigs! They even let me come in anytime to visit and play with them during the time they were being held and looked after. I was so pleased with my experience with the staff and how much they care about their animals, I won't go to any other PetCo. My babies have made a full recovery thanks to the wonderful staff. They really do care about the store and the animals they're trying to find a good home for! If I could give them 10 stars I would!

The "owner" replied to my comment asking me to call the store, which I did, and spoke to a manager who said that the owner would be in touch. That has yet to happen. I also spoke with corporate, who claimed they would reach out to me in the next 24 hours, a week has gone by and nothing has been done. I went to the petco in Clinton and saw that the aquatic animals are being severely neglected and abused, and when I voiced my concerns to the cashier Jocelyn, she was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me, in front of her manager who permitted this behavior to take place on the sales floor. Both women admitted that they were aware of the dead animals left in the tanks and the animal neglect and did nothing, besides tell me that "they're fish they die everyday" mind you, these fish/animals had been dead for so long that they were rotting in the tanks, and the living animals were eating them out of starvation, risking illness and outbreaks. If you are an animal lover, don't go here. It is definitely not a family friendly location. With dead animals left to rot and decay in tanks, along with living animals being forced to live in the same tank. Deeply upsetting, clearly Petco holds no accountability for the animal cruelty nor for their neglectful and rude staff. The Clinton location should be shut down.

We previously went to another groomer and they did trim our pups grinch feet and them left her nails long...but Canine Clipper clipped her nails appropriately and trimmed up her grinch feet so she isn't sliding on every hard floor. The staff is very nice, but I was not pleased with the care provided my dog. I'm sure they're fine…read morewith a normal dog, but my dog has special needs that I felt were not taken care of. Maybe the problem lies in their definition of a "walk" and mine. I asked that the daily 30 minute activity be a walk, which they charge $25.00 for. If my dog doesn't have at least one "walk" per day, his digestive system shuts down. I walk him 3 miles per day to keep him regular, but expected at least one walk, on leash, to minimize the affects on him. I also expected a stress response but when they sent me a picture of him on day 2, I knew he was in trouble. Joe, the GM, called me after I sent an email discussing my disappointment and we had a productive conversation, and I had decided not to do this review. But then Robin, the owner called, to justify that they did nothing wrong and actually tried to blame it on my dog. That changed it for me. I'm sure if you have a dog with no special needs that they are fine, but beware if you have a dog that isn't normal. Make sure you talk to Joe so he understands what you expect from the visit and you may have a better outcome than mine.
