I have mixed feelings about corporate pet stores for several reasons. I don't approve of the capture and sale of certain animals for human entertainment (i.e. large parrots, exotic reptiles, etc.) My experience is that the majority of these animals end up in homes with people who do not know how to care for them, then lose interest, so the animal spends its entire life in a cage with no stimulation. This is unacceptable and is a form of animal cruelty in my opinion. Another reason I have concerns about corporate pet stores is that they tend to have poorly educated employees.I have found that this often does not stop the employees from imparting advice on the products and animals they sell. I have been given blatantly incorrect advice/information on a number of occasions from Petsmart, Petco and Pet Lovers. All that said, I do think that these stores offer a valuable service to consumers with the products they sell and the information they impart (when they have educated employees) Now...for my experience with THIS Petsmart... I have had extensive experience with this store with the fish and fish supplies, so I have worked with the girls in that area quite a bit. I have found that it is best to educate yourself with regard to diseases and parasites because their knowledge of such things is very limited. They are polite and helpful, but not very educated beyond the very basics of fish care. I also buy high end cat food (Orijen) which this store does not carry. I get this food in Greenville when I am there for other business. They carry a managable assortment of small animals (which I really appreciate -- it seems like a good balance...not a whole wall like you see in some stores) -- and the cages of all the animals are always clean. Benfield Animal Hospital is right there in the store, but I have no experience with that. Overall, the store is bright, clean and has a fun feel to it. As corporate pet stores go, this one seems to be okay. read more

I started at this store in late 2013 and have worked at several Petsmart's in my career. I have seen the ups and downs of this salon. I just returned to this store to continue grooming and let me just tell you that this salon is in the best shape I've ever seen it! Not only is the new salon manager amazing, but there's a brand new staff of people who genuinely care about you and your pet. She's also been with PetSmart for over 12 years. So she knows her stuff. So glad to be back! This is by far my favorite PetSmart. read more

We recently moved to the area and finding a good groomer was a MUST, being that we have three Shih-Tzu babies. My husband decided to call Petsmart and what a great decision! Christina was the groomer that carefully bathed, clipped and pampered our "kids". I have never seen my fur babies look this nice. They weren't clipped too short and were absolutely adorable when we arrived to pick them up. Christina was super sweet and I could tell she really loves what she does. Even the kids were happy being in her care. I highly recommend Christina at this Petsmart location. She will take excellent care of your furry loved ones! Thanks Christina!! This is the worst Petsmart I have ever been to. I was interested in adopting a cat and I immediately felt uncomfortable. All of the employees were very rude and acted as if it were a burden to help a customer. My friends and I were very offended by the immature attitude that was displayed by the employees in the adoption program. Furthermore, they never apologized to us about their unprofessionalism and instead used profanity to speak to us even though we never gave them a reason to be rude in the first place. Very unfriendly cashier. There are some friendly ones. But this store hired a cashier a few months back that is so unfriendly, no smile, looks at you like ...why are you here? Go away, and is very sarcastic with her replies to your questions that I try to avoid her line at all costs. But unfortunately, sometimes I have no choice but to go through it. I am sorry but I have forgotten her name that is how much of a good impression she has made. She is an older lady with white hair and sits on a stool at the cash register. She is terribly rude. I am a regular in this store and I mean most of the employees know me by name because I come in so much to buy food ,chews, and treats. Pet smart... she is not good for business. You have a people business and she is not a people person. Get her out before she ruins it for ya! By the way, she also completely messed up my receipt, so now I have to come back and have you fix it. Was double taxed for some unknown reason and did not get my discount for family and friends as coupon stated. read more
