The Wrabiutza family have definitely been a blessing in disguise. They took a negative (Zakk's diagnosis of T1D) and turned into a positive by helping other T1D families. Miracle Paws Org goes above and beyond when it comes to making a successful DAD Team. They start by making sure that the DAD and T1D are a perfect match for one another. Once a match has been established they make sure to show you the in and outs of training. Billy, Donna, Tyler, and Zakk pour their heart and souls into training each and every one of these magnificent heroes. It is very comforting knowing that they will continually help assist you in having a successful team after the dog has been placed in the home forever. This family has shown me what it means to be dedicated to something you are passionate about. The Wrabiutzas are more than just dog trainers; they have become like family to me. I don't know what I would do without them. Mocha has been with me for nearly 2 years and I have seen major improvements in my everyday life. My A1C has been the lowest since my diagnosis (6.2). Mocha has saved my life in more than one way. She alerts to my fluctuating blood sugars daily by a distinguished paw to my knee and within the last year and a half, she has given me a reason to smile again. The smile I now have on my face, as a college freshman, is one I haven't shown since the ninth grade. I could go on and on about how Mocha has changed my life for the better, but I'm sure you would eventually get tired of reading. When it comes to any organization, not every one will be satisfied. At the end of the day you have to decide what is best for you and your family. Overall, I have had a wonderful experience in my DAD Journey and I would't change it for anything else in the world. When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes I was scared, heartbroken, angry, overwhelmed, you name it, I felt it. It turned our world upside down. Then imagine how I felt a few months later when we discovered my daughter didn't feel her blood sugars dropping! I was terrified! What were we going to do? I had heard about DAD's (Diabetic Alert Dogs) but where do I start. I started researching DAD's. I didn't leave a stone unturned. I finally found Miracle Paws. I emailed on and off with them at first asking questions, finding out about prices and telling them our story. Then I started calling and what a relief it was! They understand Type 1 Diabetes and understand that it is an unmanageable creature and it just sucks! The lead scent trainer is a T1D! After a few more conversations and a face to face meeting I knew I found the help I was looking for. We enrolled in the self training program that day with my daughters Labrador Retriever, Moonpie. At the time my daughter was 10 years old and both her and her puppy enjoyed the one on one training sessions, the FaceTime sessions we had in between visits and there were always the meetings halfway between our house and Miracle Paws. The girls were like sponges soaking up everything the trainers worked with them on and showed them. It was an amazing experience. Moonpie mastered her skills in late 2014. That is when she put all the pieces together. We could not be happier with the training the girls received by Miracle Paws! Our family is extremely blessed to have found this wonderful family and business to help in keeping our T1 son healthy and safe. We have had Bear for almost 2 years, he accompanies my son to school, he stays on place while my son trains for swimming and places at swim meets. He is amazing at public access too. Best of all he alerts anywhere, anytime, and at distances I am amazed at! My son was diagnosed at 8 years old and is now 13, at 13 and with Bear, I can now run a few errands and feel confident that Tony is safe. About the trainer and the family, wow, can't say enough. They offer training and tweaks at the drop of a hat. All we have to say is we will be in town can you help us, and they have always found time to spend with us and Bear. They are understanding and patient. Its funny to see how excited Bear gets when we get close to their facility, its a reminder how much they all love and adore the dogs that they train. We were sold the first day we met them, I have recommended their business to many T1 families and will continue to do so. From the obedience training, Billy, to scent training, Zakk and all the wonderful workshops and T1 information, Donna we thank you and we will continue to utilize your services for as long as our son needs. I cannot begin to express how satisfied we are with Diabetic Alert Dogs by Zakk. Since bringing our DAD home just over six months ago, our son's A1C has dropped from 8.1 to 6.6 (mid-puberty too!). Leo has been my son's shadow during this short time as well - whether it be to the National Fair or Walt Disney World. As a matter of fact, while my T1 rode a WDW ride that was not service-dog accessible, I managed both our DAD, a stroller and my two year old! We have been very pleased with his public access skills, as well as his ability to alert in very distracting situations - ie. at the zoo or at the veterinarian's office. As a T1 mama, I have felt comfort and security in Donna's knowledge of T1, and her drive to educate families on not only dog training, but also T1 management. She "gets" us and is understanding, compassionate and encouraging. One aspect that I find invaluable is their ongoing assistance - even after the bill is paid! This facility is the absolutely the best place I have ever kenneled a dog! They are extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. They care about the well being of your pet and consider everything from their health and emotions to the dog's individual personality and abilities. They are accommodating and easy to work with too! It is so wonderful to have them there to take care of our "baby". I have no hesitation or worries when I leave her there. They even send pictures and texts of her playing and are excellent about communicating with you.They have advised me about the best food for optimal nutrition and they have a variety of great services to offer as well (bubble baths, neighborhood walks, specialty training, ect... Miracle Paws is by far the best pet boarding facility we've ever used for our Golden Retriever "Cooper". Whether we're heading out of town for two days or two weeks (or just need someone to watch our pup while we attend a football game), we're always confident that Cooper will be well taken care of in his climate-controlled pen. We love how frequently the dogs get to go out and play together, and Cooper always seems to be a bit better trained when we pick him up after a stay. We would definitely recommend Miracle Paws for every service they offer, including doggy daycare and overnight boarding! read more

I started taking Briscoe to Miracle Paws for obedience training. They have given me advice for my English Springer Spaniel and helped me with a lot of his puppy issues. I am going for private and daycare training to help Briscoe as well as myself. I recommend their training to have a good relationship with your dog. Also, they are doing a great service to rescue dogs to be Diabetic Alert Dogs. So glad there is a place like Miracle Paws and thankful for what they do to help those with these adversities. The entire staff and family of Miracle Paws Org are great! Bill and Donna's training skills are second to none! Our Standard Poodle has benefited so much from what she has learned during the sessions, and we, as her "Pet Parents", were trained along with our pet. I was looking to get a Diabetic alert dog and I had sent in about 20 applications and many of them turned me down because I was neither military nor of the right age. Miracle Paws was great and they accepted me and didn't care about any of those thing. Also they were of the one that were on the lower end of the cost spectrum. I absolutely love the fact that they use rescues and don't require people to breed dogs when we have so many great ones out there already that need homes. read more
