Love this petsmart location. They are great and caring. Always used to come here to get my dog groomed and would make vet appointments at the clinic here also. Appreciate them so much for everything. This is a great store and will definitely meet all of your shopping needs! Your furry friend will be so grateful! Below attached is a photo of my sweet chihuahua Jillian. I took her to get groomed about a week and a half before she passed away. We had no way she was going to pass so soon. She was 17 years old and was struggling with a heart condition, a collapsed trachea and potentially a brain tumor that was causing her to have seizures at the end of her life. She struggled and held on for as long as she could. I will always appreciate the years we spent together and I loved her so very much! I'll miss her forever! Best dog ever and such a sweet, smart, and funny little girl. Thankyou petsmart for pampering my baby one last time.

My review is based on the manner in which my telephone conversation went when I arrived for curbside pick-up. I got my email saying that my order was "ready for pick-up today" at 6:08pm, and arrived at the store at 6:30pm, as they close at 7pm, and I had called earlier to verify the hours. So, this woman answers the phone and starts with that "can't" attitude, causing me to feel distressed and worried that I may have driven all the way from SW Hesperia for nothing. First, she tells me that their curbside pick-up ends at 6pm, as if I had arrived too late to pick up my order. The email specifically states that curbside pick-up is available until 7pm. I uploaded the email. Next, she goes on to tell me that she doesn't have anyone to retrieve my order for me, but she'll try to get it out there in 10 minutes. So, I just let her know that I'll go inside to pick up, they don't have to bring it out to me. So, I go inside the store to get my order and a nice young man is grabbing both my orders and handing them to me promptly, so...what happened to that, "I don't have anyone to get your order for you" statement? It was never true. It was just some woman wanting to be in control with the "can't" mentality. People in the workplace with that can't mindset must be miserable to work for, because they are miserable for customers to deal with, that's for sure. So completely unnecessary. All people want is to pick up their stuff with no issues. Really. Is that asking too much? Don't be so unwilling right off the bat to help someone. Amazon has the best prices on pet food and supplies and you won't need to deal with the "can't" attitude.

I was referred to Anthony by a couple of people and after reading his reviews I decided to hire Anthony. Through the process, Anthony kept in communication with me on Penny's progress. Five days prior to her training completion Anthony sent a message via text informing me that Penny possibly sprained her paw/ankle jumping off one of the obstacles courses he had her on. I was set back at first because agility training wasn't agreed upon or part of Penny's program. My understanding is that the obstacle courses are used for agility training which was not part of her 5 week course. He informed me that she was putting a little bit of pressure on it, but because she was not crying and still eating and drinking he believed it was a good sign. He advised me how the same thing happened to his dog and it was ok after a week and that was why he suspected it was just a sprain and didn't think she needed to go to the vet. As an experienced trainer I trusted his judgment because I was not physically there in person to see her behavior. Upon arriving to pick her up; as he brought her out she wasn't putting any pressure on her back right leg at all, only when he asked her to sit. Due to her injury Anthony thought it would be best if we did her last two hour sessions another day. He informed me that we would go over the training he completed with Penny once she got better. Upon leaving Anthony due to the injury and pain I can see on Penny's face I didn't feel right driving six hours back home without getting her examined so I decided to take her to a near by emergency vet. Penny was diagnosed with a dislocated hip and fracture. The vet informed me that if he had brought her in the day of the incident, they could have popped her hip back in. Given that time had passed they had to perform two procedures and now her recovery is to be crated/confined and heavily medicated with little to no activity for 8-12 weeks hoping the procedure is successful. After 8 weeks of recovery, the vet will examine her by X-ray to rule out having to perform a total hip replacement. When I updated Anthony on Penny's condition after her first vet visit, he responded.. "Poor penny I didn't think it would be her hip. I'm so sorry this happened I've never had a dog get hurt before" Afters Penny's procedure, I sent Anthony an update and informed him what was completed and what Penny had to go through. I also asked if he could possibly refund me for the training because in my mind I thought it was the right thing to do since it was only a fraction of the total costs of vet visits and her surgery. He never responded, called or text. This all happened within the week of picking up penny on May 27, 2023 and the last I heard from him was on June 13th. Penny's next appointment in August will determine if she needs a hip replacement. It has been almost two months since the first procedure and her behavior has worsened. She is now more anxious, timid and afraid of being left alone. The vet bills alone have already exceeded the price of training. Due to her pain and suffering she did not retain any of her training. The reason for my review is to warn others of the kind of trainer you will be working with. I would have at least expected a return call or text from Anthony. I never expected a full refund but I did expect him to be professional and at least offer a solution instead he turned his back and disregarded us. Definitely not a trainer I would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Velasco wanted to do a 2nd surgery that very day to go in and remove a small piece of ovary that was apparently missed. I told him she had eaten this morning at 9am, so wouldn't it be better to bring her in tomorrow after fasting all night? He insisted on doing the surgery that day and said it would be OK because he would take her as his last appt. He called me at 5:30 to come and get her. He sounded funny on the phone, like he wasn't telling me something. I got there at 5:30 and told the front desk that I was worried because of the Doctor's phone call, so could I please speak to him. I also got a receipt for the surgery of $2910.00 with all fees waived, including medications. I thought the Dr. felt bad about messing up the first operation, so her wasn't charging me for the second one. I paced for half an hour, very upset and worried. Finally, an employee came out with Sweet Pea and said Dr. Velasco had already left. Was he avoiding me? She kept assuring me that Sweet Pea was fine because they double checked her vitals. She also said the Doctor wanted to do a re-check appt. Wednesday morning, which was unusual and worried me even more. All the way home I felt like everyone there knew that there was a problem, but no one wanted to tell me. Sweet Pea was obviously in pain when I got her home. The employee assured me that she had been given enough antibiotics and pain medication to last until morning. At 10pm I had another dose of pain meds to give her, but she let out one loud scream and died. She was my love, my baby, my Sweet Pea. The whole house seems empty without her. I am left broken hearted, sick, and angry because this should never have happened. Why couldn't we wait a day? Why couldn't we wait until she was a bit older? Why so insistent on immediate surgery? I now think they waived the charges because they didn't think she was going to survive what they did to her, and they wanted to make sure she died at my house. I will be suffering over this for a long time and will never trust this Vet again. Sweet Pea is dead because of his mistake.

Samaritans Animal Hospitals amazing staff took him in for emergency surgery on the spot and was an "ALL STAR" team for Odin's care. He came out of emergency surgery pointed in the right direction. Samaritan Animal Hospital advised us to take him to Animal Emergency Clinic where they had Odin for 3 days. He almost didn't make it, but due to the care of the staff at Samaritan Animal Hospital and the staff at Animal Emergency Clinic is the only reason our puppy made it through. We will be the first to say. We put all our hope into the Samaritan Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency Clinic, where they have done nothing less of being the best choice for our animals and we will not look elsewhere. After the surgery we had to give him another set of shots, after the completion of shots. Odin looked a little lethargic again. Read carefully. It'll save you money and a damn headache…read more We took in our Belgian Malinois because his leg had swollen and he was no longer able to put weight on it. I paid $1200 for them to run labs and do numerous x-rays. They said they could not find a break or fracture and that he may have just sprained his leg. Sent him home with painkillers and joint snacks for arthritis prevention. His leg continued to swell overnight, I called in and they asked me to give it more time for the medication to begin to help. We waited another day, but he stopped eating and drinking water. He was extremely lethargic and his leg had swollen almost twice its size. We took him back in. They wanted to get more x-rays of his leg. Additional bloodwork. Another $1,200, and then I get a phone call that they noticed that there was a bite mark on his leg. They shaved his leg down and found that he had multiple bite marks on his leg and it had become infected. They had to cut his leg open on two sides, debride it and clean, and then install a drain on each side. Another $2000. They did it all within 30 minutes of them closing, and then they sent us over to the emergency clinic for overnight care. They never provided transfer paperwork, never contacted the emergency clinic. Just sent us on our way. We had no other option and again had to pay $2000 for the overnight care. In the morning, the overnight care stated that our dog needed to get evaluated because there were no signs of improvement and he was in excruciating pain. Asked us to send him back to Samaritan. Samaritan refused to see him! After spending almost $4,500, they refused to see him back. They are absolutely the worst! Not only did they miss what was actually wrong with our dog the first time around, they then refused to see him after they were the ones that provided the treatment. Thankfully, the emergency clinic called Apple Valley animal Hospital. Apple Valley animal Hospital took in our dog that very morning. They had him in for observation the rest of the day. They provided IV and antibiotics IV pain medication for our dog. Sent home additional medication to help him with the infection. They unfortunately had to do another drainage towards the bottom of his leg that Samaritan also missed. There were more cuts towards the bottom. Don't even go here if your pet needs help. They will just take your money and then refuse to actually care for your pet.
