Bad customer service - unfriendly groomer and 4 1/2 hour wait time for only a bath and brush.

Today I called when the store opened to ask if I could bring my puppy in this afternoon to have her nails clipped. The lady said yes and be sure I bring the puppy's rabies vaccination. I told her the puppy is only eight weeks old. The lady said, the state of Texas requires dogs to be vaccinated at four months, so just bring her other vaccination records . At 2 PM, I brought my puppy in with her required records through the grooming door. I explained to the lady grooming closest to the entrance that I needed the puppies nails clipped. She immediately said, "did you bring the rabies vaccination record?" I said no, she is only eight weeks old. This Petsmart representative immediately in a stern voice said, the state of Texas requires that your dog have a rabies vaccination. I replied, I called this morning and Was told about that requirement, she said the dog had to be four months for the rabies vaccine. My puppy is only eight weeks old and I have brought her other vaccination records. The Petsmart representative immediately said I wonder who that was? She went on three more times talking about the state of Texas and how I had to have the rabies vaccine with me while I'm repeatedly saying the puppy is eight weeks old. Finally I said the puppy is two months old! It was evident, that this Texas rabies vaccine was quite the deterrent against getting more business for grooming department. At that point PetSmart representative immediately said, "Well, it's an hour wait! " at first I said I would wait and I walked around the store thinking about how I was treated and decided not to put myself through that again. I bought nail clippers and took them home to clip my puppies nails. This PetSmart representative had accomplished her mission, which was to deter walk-in business to the grooming department. I come here because I can find what I'm looking for and better service. But my recent visit wasn't the best and wasn't very good. My husband and I been purchasing fish and every time we purchase and put them they sometimes don't always make it no matter what we do. So I told my husband to just but goldfish since they seem to last forever. We usually deal with the one guy I can't remember his name, but young and good looking. Lol. This time we were greeted by a woman with short curly hair. We chose a large goldfish and several basic ones. She came off slightly rude and sarcastic. She counted the fish and said you need a large tank. I said I am aware and have a big enough tank. She then rudely asked what size my tank was. I said it was a 20 gallon. She then went off saying I need 20 gallons per fish!! She was so nasty. I took my fish and left. It was none of her business and she didn't have to say anything. I looked at the tank those fish were in and 20 gallons for like 100 fish?? There were several dead fish floating around in several other tanks and she was worried about my tank. Deal with your fish issue and mind your business. Just letting you know my fish are doing just fine. When they are ready for a bigger tank, I'll get one. I still like the store and will continue to shop. If I see her, I will avoid her. read more

I took my dog there 8 months ago and she was still a baby so she was scared and we decided to not groom . Today 8 months later I booked an appointment because she's used to being groomed now and they called me claiming that my dog BIT the groomer when that did not happen . My dog didn't even get passed the doors to get groomed and the groomer didn't touch my dog either . I'm upset that that untrue information was put into her notes because now she is considered "aggressive " . read more

I've lived in Beaumont two years and the service at the store is excellent! The store is always clean and the employees are always helpful!

I was shopping in Petsmart today. As I was lifting a 25 pound bag of dog food from the bottom shelf and employee asked me how I was doing. I said he could help me lift this bag and he kept walking. He happened to be my cashier when I was checking out and I said something to him about ignoring my request. He responded "I was helping another customer" I explained that it would've just taken a moment of his time to help me but he found it necessary to Disagree stating again "yes ma'am but I was helping another customer". I told him that good customer service would've been taken a minute to lift the bag and he again argued with me. Let's just say I won't be back to Petsmart for a while. I'd rather spend my hundred dollars a month on dog supplies in Petco! read more

Very disappointed. The groomer cut my dog in not one or two places but six. Six is not a slip or result of matted fur, which he did not have. It's the direct result of an inattentive groomer who doesn't really want/care about their job. When I called to speak to the manager I was told she'd left for the day but I'd hear from her first thing the next day. Needless to say I never did and we won't be going back to that store for anything. I love my fur babies too much to put them through that kind of pain again. read more

This has got to be the best store in Beaumont! They have good supplies, staff, and prices. I don't really do a great deal of shopping here except for fish and supplies for them. When I moved here I tried all the pet stores in town and found this one to be the best fit for me. The staff here is the biggest reason I keep returning. They are very knowledgeable and customer oriented. They won't try to sell me stuff I do think need, even though I have on my own. They know which fish do well with other fish and the temperaments of them. They know just what is needed, and works the best, when needing to add chemicals to an aquarium for ideal healthy conditions. They have an assortment of tanks, gravel, decirations, and equipment for most all of the smaller aquariums (up to 75 gallons in my way of thinking) and some for larger tanks. They have a good variety of tropical fish and gold fish to choose from if that is what you are looking for. However, they don't have marine species but do have marine supplies. I do occasionally buy supplies for small mammals here such as dog and cat food. Those animals seem to enjoy what I bring them from this store, especially the toys and treats. As far as the prices go, they are really not that bad. The pricing is competitive to anywhere else in the area. Of course, some things are more costly while other items are cheaper. Overall, I think this is a great store. If they keep it up, I will be a customer for years to come. read more

I had been getting fish from here, and they've all died. At first I thought it was my fault, but it just didn't add up. The tank was fine and I acclimated them correctly. I got another fish just as a final see and barely even a day and he's almost dead with clear signs of fin rot. I do not recommend purchasing from here at all. The worker should've been more informed or knew at least a little about fish to tell me there was something wrong with the fish I was getting. The fish are gorgeous, yes, but clearly not taken care of and are clearly carrying diseases. When I went last time as well there were dead fish just floating there in the tanks. That should've been a sign. Not going here to get fish ever again, maybe not even for supplies. read more

No that PetsMart has moved to Dowlen Road, I'm a HUGE fan. I have always LOVED the grooming department because the Groomers are so nice to me and my pup. The new location has lots of windows, so you can always see what your mut is up to. The store is nice and clean, too! read more

Absolutely the best grooming salon in Beaumont! The ladies are kind, understanding. Knowledgeable, caring, and just good at their job. I've been taking my dog here monthly for 10 years. They are even better at nail grinding and trimming the. My Vet! Wait time is minimal. They treat my doggie as if she were there own. The sales associates are also spot on. I buy live food weekly for my lizards, so I'm dealing with this store weekly. I've been to Petco - never again for grooming. Don't like their crickets either. Try Petsmart! Great store. The associates are long term employees. That speaks volumes to me about their satisfaction with their jobs and management. read more

Great grooming! Took a stray matted dog in and they cleaned him up perfectly! They've got a great selection of pet supplies too. My favorite thing about this store is the chameleons. read more

Do NOT take your dog to the groomers here. My dog gets groomed regularly at a smaller locally owned shop, but I decided to try this place since they were booked up for over a week. The groomer, an older lady, BURNED him multiple times with the blade on his genitals. She should have been aware of this because I'm sure he was moaning in pain! I had to take him to the vet and put on antibiotics. He can't walk far without sitting and moans all day. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

The place is dirty and the people aren't very friendly. The grooming salon always smells like pet urine, they can never book an appointment when it's convenient for me, and when they finally get me an appointment my dog is never done when they say he'll be done. I'm done with this store. read more
