NEVER AGAIN. We came to Whiskers Grooming twice before for simple trimming around the paws and…read morefanny, and we were happy with the result. This time he had some matting on the ears. Normally we would have had him groomed sooner but due to the Covid outbreak we waited longer, and some of the matting on the ears got bad. Outside of that I ordered him to get the same trimming as before, and not be cut or shaved. Even by the American Kennel Club, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels should not be cut/shaved! What this woman did is unforgivable and downright despicable. When I came to pick up our dog he no longer looked like a Cavalier, but more like a Pug. His hair was cut extremely short when there was no need to do so! They shaved parts of his legs down to the skin. On parts of the head they shaved his hair so far down that you can see scalp. In some parts it appears that so much force was used in pushing down the clippers that our dog has some abrasions. Also, it appears that his nails were cut too short on some, and a little bleeding occurred but stopped. They even cut away his beautiful flowing tail hair that are symbols of Cavaliers. I asked this woman (apparently the owner Cheryl by doing a little research) why she DID NOT CALL ME FIRST BEFORE DOING SOMETHING I DIDN'T ORDER!!!! Her excuse was to cite how many Cavaliers she has cut before. THAT'S NOT A REASON!!! We can see the broad strokes in his fur, that come from harsh use of clippers. I am no oversensitive person that takes things out of a normal context, but one, knowingly cutting back a dog like this, two, when there is no need, three, you weren't ordered to do so, and four, when you shouldn't because experts say you shouldn't do so, is in my book is REPREHENSIBLE!!! By cutting him back like this our dog's fur can now grow back even thicker and that is not good for the animal. These special dogs need their fur and cutting it back like this is detrimental to the animal. It is obvious to me; she does not care. During the discussion about this disgraceful job she did cutting our dog, she proceeded to bring up a topic that had no bearing on the issue at hand. The sign of the arrogant person's tactic to turn the discussion around to allay and redirect one's own guilt. She tried to dictate to me regarding the neutering of our pet. I totally concur with spaying and neutering pets on most terms, but we have not done so for reasons that are of no concern to anyone else, especially this haughty woman. I would not trust this company with your pet! If she is a professional and judging by the job she did and her behavior, then she needs to retire! You cannot trust a company when its own owner does not comply with a customer's wishes, and or use simple basic standards in customer service. If the owner acts this way, then tell me how can you trust the employees she hires? They will be carbon copies of her. If she had simply called me in advance, and stated that she was going to do this, then I would have said NO!!! This was so unnecessary! No apologies, just excuses. Now in retrospect and looking more deeply in some of the online reviews, I can see others had the same issues as we did. Most of the positive reviews that were posted before mine, are simple one-line statements with little detail, which make me wonder how many are truly valid. You cannot trust people like this, especially when arrogance blinds them so much, that they cannot to do simple things properly, and then own up to them. Once again, if she had simply called me in advance, and stated that she was going to do this, then I would have said NO!!! Instead of showing any humility she started acting arrogantly and brashly. You cannot forgive this kind of behavior or action. There is no way to make up for them. STAY AWAY, YOU WON'T REGRET IT AND NEITHER WILL YOUR DOG!!!

We popped in here today. I was looking to see if they had…read moreany dresses for my Yorkie. But they mostly just have collars and vest for walking. But they have every coller and leash You can imagine. They also have a great variety high quality dog food and cat food. I also have dog bones grooming items and just about everything you need for your puppy dog. Today we got the dog cookies. Darlene got two squirrels for her dogs and I got a dog cookie biscuit. As I was leaving I noticed they have the games where you hide the food and then your dog has to work to get it. I think I'll come back another day and see what kind of games they have. Very nice puppy dog shop.!

9:00 a.m. My 2nd time bringing my Maltese to Gurrs & Purrs. The 1st time I had no issues. This time…read morewas getting his after winter groom. When I made the appintment I told the lady that he was dirty, long wiry hair and some matts. I said I would pay extra for the matts. Took him in this morning. I smiled and said,"Good morning." No one said hello. The lady to the left of the counter recoiled and made a face at Ohbee. The other joined into fussing at me for not getting him in for a brush and blow dry before grooming. I told them I had an 11:00 hair appointment but would get him after. They said,"Oh, he'll be ready before that." I live in DeLeon Springs and could not have picked him up and got to my appointment. About 10:15 they called. I asked if I could pick him up after my hair appointmrnt. They said,"No, come get him now." There are more groomers in Deland than to have to deal with their discourtesy. I paid his fee and told them that we wouldn't be back. And we won't. Maybe you have enough customers that you think you can treat people anyway. You can't and with me, you won't.

Highly recommend…read more... It's 2021 & political correctness is out the proverbial window...Let's get real! Why do we travel fm Windermere to Deland for vet services (1hr 5 min, 57.4 miles)? 1. Vet #10 & counting 2. Too many unqualified vets trained abroad (islands & East) 3. Poor craft of knowledge 4. Poor cust svc 5. Unsavory & less than mentally sound techs 6. Creepy vets These are just a few gd reasons why we travel so far. Our Darby Darling: We lost our paw princess Sat., 7am on 4/24/21 as she quietly fell asleep in death over nite. Windermere Vet #10: We went to our 10th Windermere vet 3 miles fm our hm. We decided to engage the Windermere vet, during the pandemic, for just such an emerg. Their Sat. hrs. were 8am-1230pm but it was dark bet. 8am-10am. We saw 6 cars at the annex bld, knocked on the glassdoor, a male waved for us to wait, turned sideways, cont. on his call, not mindful enough to call another staffer, & we waited til 10am. They kept us waiting fm 8am-10am. We were the only customer car in the lot & all lites were off. We finally called Countryside, left, & took the hr. drive down the 429 to I4. Countryside: We wiped our well groomed little girl, dressed her in her lovely yellow floral dress, laid her on her fuchsia ladybug blanket, rolled her yellow blankie under her head, & placed her in her cozy bed. We were rec'vd with compassion & Our Darby girl will recv an honorably rest fm her final journey.
