Highly recommend.... It's 2021 & political correctness is out the proverbial window...Let's get real! Why do we travel fm Windermere to Deland for vet services (1hr 5 min, 57.4 miles)? 1. Vet #10 & counting 2. Too many unqualified vets trained abroad (islands & East) 3. Poor craft of knowledge 4. Poor cust svc 5. Unsavory & less than mentally sound techs 6. Creepy vets These are just a few gd reasons why we travel so far. Our Darby Darling: We lost our paw princess Sat., 7am on 4/24/21 as she quietly fell asleep in death over nite. Windermere Vet #10: We went to our 10th Windermere vet 3 miles fm our hm. We decided to engage the Windermere vet, during the pandemic, for just such an emerg. Their Sat. hrs. were 8am-1230pm but it was dark bet. 8am-10am. We saw 6 cars at the annex bld, knocked on the glassdoor, a male waved for us to wait, turned sideways, cont. on his call, not mindful enough to call another staffer, & we waited til 10am. They kept us waiting fm 8am-10am. We were the only customer car in the lot & all lites were off. We finally called Countryside, left, & took the hr. drive down the 429 to I4. Countryside: We wiped our well groomed little girl, dressed her in her lovely yellow floral dress, laid her on her fuchsia ladybug blanket, rolled her yellow blankie under her head, & placed her in her cozy bed. We were rec'vd with compassion & Our Darby girl will recv an honorably rest fm her final journey. read more

I took my precious Bella there to go to Rainbow Bridge. They have this tech that has no clue what he is doing. He introduced himself as a nurse. He came in with this yellow stuff in a syringe and injected her in the spine. My poor Bella was terrified and suffered the last 10 minutes of her life. She was thrashing her head back and forth and trying to get us to help her. He came in several times while she was suffering and said this is how it goes for some dogs. I kept asking for the vet because this is not how it goes. My poor baby suffered so bad for the last 10 minutes of her life. When he came back in with the vet my poor suffering baby tried to get under my husband's legs but all she could do was move her head but he came over and pinned her head to the floor while the vet came in and killed her. My poor baby suffered so badly the last 10 minutes of her life because this guy who calls himself a nurse tortured her. He tortured her. He had his hands around her throat as he was pinning her head down. She was tortured to death instead of peacefully leaving this earth. If you want your pet last minutes of life to be tortured go there. The guy who thinks he is a nurse at a vet specializes in torturing your pet. read more

Our Ruby had her yearly checkup today with Dr Harty! We love Dr Harty and her team!! They work well together to make a positive experience for our sweet girl! Also, while I was checking in, the front desk staff was knowledgable and explained the difference and benefits between the vaccination's! Not a fan of either location and neither is our dog. The doctors are uneasy and are not very knowledgeable. They don't seem to know how to handle dogs like German Shepherds, and were in fact downright scared of him, even though our dog didn't exhibit any behavior to be afraid of. When it was time for the doctor to come in the room I heard her outside our door ask the staff if she was "good to go" into our room, and the staff loudly whispered, "It's a GERMAN SHEPHERD," and then no one came in for another 5-10 mins. Our dog was on sedatives and given them no reason to be afraid. The doctor didn't ask me any questions about his injury, and when I would mention something to her, she would say, "Oh yeh, that's a good point, I didn't think about that." Good for puppy visits but otherwise I would keep looking. read more

Dr.Glen is a disgusting human being. I Had to put my dog down. We were there past closing time waiting on a family member before we put him down. Dr.Glen barges in yelling saying we need to do this now or reschedule. We are trying to explain to him. But he was rude and yelling back at us theater we had poor planing. Excuse we were going to a check up to see if my dog was okay and if not to talk about further actions. We didn't plan on putting yesterday. He kept yelling hitting my dog with the door. Threatened to call the police on us. My family and I are going through the worst time having to put down our family dog we had since he was 5 weeks old. Dr.Glen had no compassion or empathy. Dr.Glen is supposed to be a veterinarian and that how he treats people it's disgusting. I understand we were there past close but they never informed us that we had a time limit. The nurse checked in on us once and ask just knock on the door whenever you're ready. We weren't ready and we just 10 more minutes so my little brother to get there and say goodbye. read more

This clinic rescued a scared abandoned roughly 12 month old cat and cared for him enough to help him find a permanent home. Toby had to fend for himself and has serious fears about being alone or outside. When he was brought to the clinic by a woman who found him they helped him get healthy. They neutered him and gave him his shots and made sure he was ready for a new home before even trying to place him. After placement with me, I have been allowed to keep in touch with them as they make sure he is adjusting well. I'm so glad they cared enough to love my big guy. He has been such a blessing to my fur family. They all tumble and play together throughout the day and follow me everywhere. What a testament to the caring Drs and staff at Countryside. You don't hear it enough, and Thank You for caring enough to not only help animals get healthy but to be sure the ones you rescue from abandonment or from folks who just don't want to be bothered anymore, to get them to good homes who genuinely care for them as you do. You are all amazing. Keep up the good work, fur babies need more like you! read more

Otis got to see Dr Rachel Cunningham and I must say he is smitten over her!! He was relaxed and let her aspirate his foot for a little cyst on the bottom. Otis normally is a crazy boy at the vet and for him to lay on the floor and let her examine him was a first. I loved the fact that Dr Cunningham spoke to Otis first and let me be the background noise!!! I was also so happy with Jenna (VT) who also gave a calming voice to Otis. Both Dr Cunningham and Jenna were not only professional but showed their true love in their job and care/concerns for Otis's well being!!! I am so happy to be a client of Countryside and Dr Cunningham has a client for life!!! I can't wait until she gets to meet Eivie as I am confident that Eivie will also love her as much as Otis does!!! The office and rooms were spotless!! It is so comforting to have a veterinarian that when you call in an emergency will not tell you to wait till the next day or they don't have an appointment but will say come on in we will work you in and they do. It is beyond wonderful to see a doctor you've never seen before but who has as much compassion as you hoped she would and her explanations were in English not medical dictionary words and her desire to answer all of our questions made it so much easier to know what we needed to do to heal our baby. I highly recommend going to this vet I only wish they treated humans I would be right in line read more

I took our family dog to Countryside for a check up of sorts. I have an older dog, and she has been in pain. The vet diagnosed her with hip dysplasia. The vet, and vet assistant were so gentle, and so thorough. I greatly appreciated the extra time and care spent with my dog. This was our first visit here, but I'm so glad I switched. I've brought my little dog in twice and seen two different veterinarians (Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Parker), and they have been wonderful! We've found our new animal clinic, for sure. read more
