Had to make a fast search for a pet store when one of our cats produced an unexpected litter of kittens at 4 a.m.! A friendly and amused PetSmart associate helped us find the kitten formula and nursing bottles we needed for the baby who hasn't figured out how to nurse. We picked out some baby toys for them and checked out the aquarium section. They don't have the large selection of aquariums and fish that the Garner store does, but their fish were in stock (not always the case in the Garner and Raleigh stores) and there were some interesting varieties. I breed tropical fish and their aquariums were very clean, attractive, well stocked with plants and their fish were very healthy. Their selection of reptiles is quite good, and we enjoyed visiting the snakes and lizards. I may be adopting one of their beautiful Corn Snakes soon! This store offers everything you need to welcome and house your new pet. PetSmart has the best inventory of pet foods anywhere. Your furred, finned, feathered and scaly family members will be well fed with their help. Thanks to the store for offering pets for adoption instead of selling puppy-mill bred dogs and cats. This recommendation is mainly just a great customer service. I believe the word that helped his name was Heather and she was absolutely extremely professional and polite even when a rude customer walked up while she was trying to help us. Also observed another worker trying to help someone who bought a believe an in iguana. Make sure they were making the correct and realistic choices. The worker could have easily let the man go off without making sure he had everything that was needed. So for that this PetSmart gets an A for customer service. read more

If I could give this a zero, I definitely would. I went here to have my cat groomed. They didn't take long but that's what should've worried me. When we picked him up he was wet, they said they couldn't dry him because he was meowing at them or "talkative" though he wasn't scratching or anything aggressive. Speaking of scratching, his nails were bleeding. They cut them too short and we didn't even find out until we were home because they didn't tell us. Final straw was that he smelt like a wet dog, what's the point of cleaning him if he smells worse when he comes out. I do not recommend going here if you ever have a cat. Never going here for grooming again. We are so disappointed. This service is terrible. I can't show the picture here but I'm disgusted. read more

I expected better, in the quality of service and in the communication of her experience. Was she a difficult cut. They should of given me more feedback on their experience with my baby. Hello PetSmart I have been bringing my fur baby since he was 6 mths old and he is 2 yrs old now. I was very disappointed in the service I received on 5/2/23 at his scheduled appt. I bought him in and discussed what I wanted with groomer. I asked groomer to leave his face alone and keep ears long as possible. Due to mates I knew that his body would be cut short. Groomer explain body would be shaved due to mates. In the past groomers have left hair alone on face and cut hair short in spots as needed. When I picked up my dog I didn't recognize him and another customer in passing stated he was crying while they were grooming him. 3 hrs later I had to call to check his status they stated the groomer had him on the table I reiterated leave his ears long she stated I had to cut them some. Scheduled an appointment for our puppy to get her first bath, upon scheduling they let us know that there are 3 hours allotted for a dog wash.My husband got stuck in traffic and called to let them know he was running behind the original 9:00 apt. They did not inform him that there is a 15 minute window before he would have to reschedule. After arriving at 9:17 and speaking to the manager they were relentless on rescheduling. We have spent a lot of money at this location prior to this and wanted to continue to do business here for our new puppy. After today that will no longer be needed there customer service is not good and I would advise seeking other dog care clinics. Bad communication, bad customer service and bad over all experience. I am EXTREMELY annoyed! I came to pick up my dog from a full bath and cut and she came out looking like a disaster. They then informed me that they only gave her a bath because of her health. Been going to petsmart for 12 years and usually when there is a problem with not being able to provide the service, they will give me a call to see what I would like to do. NO CALL WAS PLACED and no one informed me that she was ready for pick up. Dropped her off at 9am and it is 2pm and I had to call to see if she was ready. I would've given her a bath myself at home rather than pay $40 for a simple bath. Unacceptable! read more

After the PetSmart at the Smithfield location turned my pup away, this PetSmart took him right in and did a wonderful job! All the groomers were cheerful and very welcoming and super gentle and friendly with Sam (my pup) They exceeded my expectations and me and my pup left happy! Normally when I took Sam to the Smithfield location or when we would leave he would be very anxious and would shake and cry. When we left this salon, he was a different pup all together, no shakes, no crying, just a fresh and clean happy puppy. This PetSmart deserves all the stars! I recently took my 8 month old mini schnauzer to get groomed, she probably was 2 weeks pass due to be groomed, she had a couple of small matted areas but they weren't bad at all. I booked it online and already knew what the price was going to be. I dropped her off like normal and picked her up like normal but I noticed that the breed was written wrong and the price was 30 more than what I booked for... when a confirmed with Brittany that I had the right sheet and price, they proceeded to tell me she wasn't a schnauzer because her coat is thicker and curler than the average. They even asked me if I had Paperwork on her to prove what she is( which I was totally Offended). I know exactly what kind of puppy I purchased and yes I have paper on her and her parents have thicker coats and curler. The question they asked me and the changing of the prices was wrong without informing me of what they were doing.. She will not be going back EVER read more

This rating is only in regards to their grooming salon. I have always walked away pleased with the quality of grooming that my girl Bailee has received at this location. She's a larger dog (border collie/ chow) who seems to leave happy and stress free, so whoever has been handling her, has been doing a great job. The girls I have encountered here have been very knowledgeable about Bailee's coat and how it should be washed and cut. The salon is also clean and organized. We will continue to use this location. read more

Dealing with this particular PetSmart is like trying to speak to a goldfish. I was looking for someone to trim the nails on my cat. I called the first time and was told that the cat groomer has some mysterious secret schedule and nobody knows when she'll be in. Finally the person conceded that well, she is in on Sundays. So, I called on Sunday, was connected with someone in the grooming Department, who told me that the woman did cat grooming on a walk-in basis from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.. so I got a pissed off cat into a carrier, drove to PetSmart at 8:15 in the morning only to be told that their walk-in service was from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.. I could not wait as the cat was yowling, and I had to get to work. I will not under any circumstances go back to this PetSmart for anything. I do not like dealing with stupid people and apparently that's all this location hires is really really stupid people. read more

I take my 11 month old pug there for monthly nail trimming and grinding, and I'm always satisfied! He's not an easy guy to work with, as he gets very squirmy and nervous, but they've always been great with him! This time around I got him a full "pawdicure", which is a nail trim and grind and an ear clean. His ears are so so squeaky clean! They were quick and clearly very efficient! Like I said before, he's not an easy guy to groom, but the ladies in the salon definitely put my ear cleaning skills to shame! Not only that, but on Tuesday they offer senior and military discounts. I really appreciate that! The ladies did a great job and I'll be taking him in for the same service next month!:) read more

Absolutely the worst staff! The grooming salon is a joke. The groomers regularly cut dogs. It is very unprofessional and extremely dirty. They don't care about the animals or the so called "pet parents". I will never take my dog there again. I suggest you don't either. read more

Training was absolutely, without a doubt, a total waste of time and money. I called and spoke with the assistant manager who was very appropriate in his response and offered to return our money which was appreciated. However, bottom line, definitely go elsewhere for training services. read more
