I picked up my puppy from petsmart last week and he just was not acting right. I thought he was just worn out, but when we got home, I noticed that he could not open his eyes. My father is a doctor so he came over and it turns out he had a horrible chemical conjunctivitis. Vet visit and $200 later I was told the same. I called Petsmart. They claim that absolutely nothing happened and they did not notice anything at all. Won't accept any sort of responsibility. If they didn't notice anything then it's straight up negligence. Second time in two months that I made a grooming appointment for my dog, waited 2 weeks, and 20 minutes before the appointment I get a call to tell me they had to cancel my dog's appointment. Fun fact, both times, the appointment was canceled, the groomer was Madelyn. Both times, an emergency came up, and she had to leave. That is so unprofessional! If you can't find groomers that are reliable, then DON'T have a grooming business. Now what?? They didn't try to squeeze me in, BECAUSE they were all booked up for today. I was booked in, but I guess that doesn't matter! They didn't offer to get me in within the next couple of days, NOTHING! Honestly, I'm beyond fed up with businesses that could care less about professionalism, customer service, and going that extra mile. If anyone knows of a good, reliable groomer, please let me know!! Because, honestly, this place should not even be open!! read more

pet smart workers are incredibly rude! rather than explaining how to prepare to care for a first time pet, i was met with annoyance and passive aggression. extremely frustrating. also not to mention that they all have separate opinions on how to care for a pet! i asked one worker if i can put mystery snails in a tank with goldfish and she said, "absolutely not!" when I asked another she said, "of course you can!" so which is it? i just did research on google at that point. all the workers seem exasperated and annoyed instead of helpful. i had a lot of questions about how to go about buying snails and i was very kind ! they were awful. read more

PetSmart is great. Love taking my skittish dog here so she can get some socialization (she's great at home with the other dogs, but terrified on her own). Great food and toy selection. Often when I go on Sundays the rep for the dog food I buy (Blue) is there and he is always really helpful in finding what I need and giving advice on some of their other products (e.g., we shouldn't feed our dogs the Wild, because they'll prob gain weight). They are also GREAT about returns. No problem returning an inflatable E-collar that didn't work for us or a toy that broke. read more

I take my standard poodle, Zorro, here for grooming. I took him here initially because my private groomer was booked solid for a month and I was desperate. The groomer, Megan, did an excellent job on him. And so I started taking him to Petco on a regular basis. She does such thoughtful work on him that my vet started recommending her to his other poodle owner clients. Megan trimmed his ear hair rather than plucking it . She shaves Zorros face very thoroughly and carefully, despite the eye buggers that he always seems to get. He gets a manly puppy cut, and she leaves plenty of fur on his face and tail. She only shaves him when he is totally matted, which only happened once in the 5 years that he has been going to Petco. I can usually get an appointment within 2 weeks, sooner if needed. I get a text message when he is finished so he doesn't wait around unnecessarily. I have had a great experience having Zorro groomed at Petco. read more

Instead of giving my dog a trim like I asked, they completely shaved him down removing all of his curls and I left in tears since this is now the SECOND time this has happened. Not my favorite place for anything concerning my dog or cat other than having their nails trimmed here, and that is merely because it is close to home, and no appointment needed. The groomer Pamela is fine, the rest are adequate. The in-store staff always seems to be either rude, lobotomized, or both, and are rarely helpful. The store smells really "doggy", the prices for the supplies are WAY too high, and I always have a vague sense of being ripped off when I purchase anything there. As my pets eat mainstream food that can be purchased at Walmart or any discount store, I see no particular reason for myself to buy anything at PetSmart, and am really not impressed by this store at all. Perhaps other stores in the chain are better, this one is nothing special for the cost. read more

Again, I just have to RAVE about this place! We just adopted a rescue pup. A 2 year old black lab named "Goose" (like from TOP GUN! LOL YAH!) When he came to us he was SO skinny. Just a bag of bones! He also has some alopecia (hair loss) due to neglect as well as a few other scars and bruises. (The story is, his previous owners kept him tied up outside on a lead and didn't feed him or love on him) When he came to us I knew right away that I wanted Goose to go get the "Top Dog" package at Petsmart. He has had such a crappy start to his life that he was way overdue for some pampering. And I knew that he would get the ultimate treatment at this Petsmart! And he DID! Right when we walked in they didn't need to ask his name they already knew. We made the appointment and we were right on time and the girls said "Well Hello Goose! what a handsome lil guy!" He being timid at first immediately started to wag his tail and he felt comfortable being with those girls. The stylist's name is Lisa L. And I highly recommend her (or anyone else back there!) They brushed his teeth, cleaned his ears, trimmed his nails, shampooed and conditioned his coat, brushed him out, and sent him back to us all cleaned up and handsome! She recommended us to use an oatmeal/apricot scrub shampoo because his skin is flaking from being outside all of the time. That was a great choice his coat was smooth and smelled great too. She handed me a little "Pawgress Report" which I really loved because it gives them the chance to write what they did that day and what they recommend. She noticed that he had sores on his paw pads from being outside all the time on concrete so that explained why he was sensitive to us touching his paws. She also said he was a "very well behaved boy!" that made me very happy! I will be back in 4 weeks to give him and the other pups a top dog package because every time one of them gets it they FEEL pampered. With girls like Lisa L. Working on them I can see why. The compassion here for animals is what makes this place heaven for pets. If you have a dog, or cat that needs a good pampering give Petsmart a try! I was seriously wowed by the detail and affection that EVERY pet gets. Whether they are a rescue pet or not. THANKS AGAIN PETSMART! read more

Had a grooming and nail trim appointment there for our 18 month old yellow lab/ retriever cross today. When we got our dog home, it was obvious that his eye had been injured. No explanation or apology offered by the staff at Petsmart. Major swelling and redness of his eye, and he keeps blinking. Will be bringing him to vet in the morning. I will never step foot into that store again, and neither will my dog. read more
