First, this is solely about their grooming unit not any other part of the store. We brought in our two dogs to get their nails cut. To begin with, the groomer was extremely rude to me when we arrived. The groomer showed absolutely no confidence. She was rough and rude with our dogs and seemed very frustrated. She did not care about the well-being of our dogs. Some of the nails were cut so far down they were bleeding and others didn't look cut at all. We are going to finish both dogs' nails at a better groomer later now since they are completely incompetent at PetSmart. Also - the groomer clearly knows nothing about dogs because she said both our dogs were Aussies..... but they are short-haired hound dogs.... sooo

Expect long lines and no social distance.

This is one of the worse managed Pet Smarts around. Today the line was nearly to the back of the store with one cashier. Plenty of employees that could be cashiers. Some socializing. They did not open more checkouts until several customers complained. And even then the response was very slow. Clearly far over the COVID capacity limit as well.

This is how they cut dogs thumbs? A straight line?

I should have asked for my money back. She often rushed through things. She didn't have an awareness of how to teach human adults, by saying something , show something, say it again in a different way, show it again slowly. She said it once, showed it quickly then expected us to do it. She would show something, then have us go do it while she talked with her friends she brought in. She didn't pay attention to her students. She only offered help when I was struggling if I asked for her help, she didn't notice when people were struggling. She was stern and not approachable. She said she had lots of experience training. Perhaps that was true but she needs to work on people skills to be a group dog trainer. This intro class was designed to rush us through a program of a bunch of different things every time so that maybe we felt we learned a lot and got our moneys worth, rather than make sure we had important things down really well. The instructor said that after we finished the class we could come in for open play. I called and left a message about this twice but no one called me back. The place was freezing cold in the winter and smelly. I've heard other people like this place, but I won't go back. I also read the review about a woman abusing a dog here and people being rude. Big fat NO.

She was always a sweet girl, but overly excited to the point of annoyance. Now she is sweet, loving and a joy to be around. Thank you, CLC for bringing out the best in my girl!

We are only 2 weeks into the training which last for 15 sessions but are excited to register our 2nd dog as soon as our Jaxon wraps up his training. Bella is a very sweet and loving dog but she barked aggressively when anyone came near our door, let alone knock/ring bell. Any change made her nervous and jumpy. A visit to the vet would cause anxious behavior for a week after each appointment. Other dogs made her nervous even though we had socialized her from a very young age. When walking she would stiffen whenever another dog or children were near by us. We have always exercised Bella a lot and that helped but never eliminated these issues. Then I read about the Fort Collins Dog Wizard online. I was just hoping to improve her quality of life a little... I never imagine or dreamed of the results we would get. Cullen did a house visit to assess Bella. He sat at our house talking calmly to me about Bella and her personality the entire time he ignored Bella. After the first ten minutes, she was begging for his attention but he still let her have her space. I couldn't believe the calming presence he brought and he hit all her scary buttons (a man with a hat). After talking to me, he said he thought they could absolutely help her. We sent her to them for three weeks and she worked primarily with Maddy. We visited Bella a week into the training, we got our first training session, and we were already amazed. When we picked her up at the end of the three weeks, we received more training and very clear and strict instructions on how to continue the work. Maddy visited us at our home in the coming weeks to assess Bella and help answer any questions we had on techniques or progress. Once you've been through the program there are graduate classes that you and your dog can attend for free every Saturday as well as a Facebook group for graduates to share/ask questions and you can always contact Cullen, Jess, or Maddy. Six months ago we had a dog that freaked out if a car door closed outside our house, UPS truck drove by, or anyone came to our house. Last week on Halloween our doorbell rang and door was knocked on all night and not one peep from Bella. She sat quietly on her place and enjoyed her evening. We have dinner parties with lots of loud laughing and moving about and she calmly lays on her bed until we let her come off and then she enjoys the attention from our friends. Her quality of life is so much better and now everyone can see her sweet and loving personality instead of a barking, scared dog. My only regret was not finding the Dog Wizard sooner. When we adopt our next dog, they will be the first phone call I make after adoption.

PLEASE READ ! if I could give a zero I would!…read more My husband and I trusted this place when we kenneled out dog for about a full 5 days. She was healthy and happy when we dropped her off. When we picked her up, that was not the case. she was lethargic when we picked her up but we thought maybe she was just tired and was decompressing from the stay, but she did have a little bit of weez to her breathing. The following day she had a full on cough (still does) and a confirmed case of kennel cough. I called the kennel and spoke to someone named Kelsey and told her what was going on and she said that the owners were out of town but they would call me the following day. I had to call back three times to finally get a callback from the owners. The only concern from the owner was that I did not leave a bad review for them because I would be putting his business and his employee's jobs in jeopardy. He did not offer to compensate her stay, he did not offer to help with the vet bill, and was not even apologetic about our dog being so sick. They had to have known she was sick and when I spoke to Kelsey, she said that she could not confirm or deny if any other dog had came down with kennel cough during the same time that she was staying there so they aren't even telling other pet parents that kennel cough is going around at their kennel!!!!. To top it off, not only did they not tell us she was showing signs of kennel cough, we brought her home where she was reunited with her 13-year-old "sister" If we would've known she was sick we could have kept them separate and prevented the spread of kennel cough in our own home. After this experience, I did some digging and not too long ago they lost a dog, and it has never been found! Please think twice before you use this facility! NEVER AGAIN!

Now at 9 months old, after 6 lessons and weeks of practice, practice, practice, he is a different dog. I never thought there could be such a difference in a dog in such a short time. Jesse was afraid of so much. He had to learn how to go up and down stairs and be comfortable riding in a car. Every noise on a walk startled him -- birds, cars, loud noises, other dogs, people, everything. Walking with him was a horrible experience. He pulled and sniffed constantly, lunged at people and other dogs. Nothing I did was helping because I had no idea of what to do. He wasn't much better in the house. He had no boundaries. He would not stay in one place for any length of time. He couldn't be in the backyard because he constantly ate the mulch and chewed holes in the grass. Thank goodness I found Jack! All of that has changed - in 3 months! Because of what Jack has taught me, I now am able to successfully communicate with my dog and help him gain the confidence he needs to be his best self. His energy has mellowed since he no longer has the need to take control of everyone and everything. His walks are enjoyable - even off leash. Yes, Jesse can be off leash and we hike the trails in Boulder. He comes when called and he will walk beside me with no leash if I ask him to. It's really unbelievable. There are so many things I could tell you about my amazing dog and what he can do. But you can experience it yourself if any of this sounds familiar. If you are willing to put in the time to work with you dog and do what Jack or Alex tells you, I have every reason to believe you will have great results. My daughter worked with Alex and followed her advice. She was certain her dog would never stop chasing rabbits and squirrels or be trusted off leash as well as numerous other problems. After 3 months, she too has had amazing results and now a well-behaved dog. We hike together -- with our dogs off leash. I continue to use the foundation, techniques, and education Jack provided as I continue training with Jesse. There is always room for improvement and new things for both of us to learn. I really could not have managed Jesse without Jack's help. I will always be grateful.

THIS BUSINESS IS MONEY HUNGRY AND HAS NO REGARDS TO THE ACTUAL WELL BEING OF ANIMALS. DO NOT TAKE YOUR AGGRESSIVE DOG TO THIS PROGRAM, THIS BUSINES IS NOT EQUIPPED TO WORK WITH WORKING BREED DOGS OR AGGRESSIVE DOGS. I truly feel I need to warn any potential consumer with an aggressive or working breed, that Sit Means Sit should never train their dog. I took my aggressive dog to this training program for a board and train and I explained that my dog has reactivity issues and had recently bit someone. Sarah ensured me that they had work with these types of dogs before and that this program would help us to walk him on a leash. The program mentality is that the e-collar was a tap on the shoulder and that the dog had to make the decision to do the command. After talking with several dog behavioral experts, with a working dog with aggressive tendencies, they need to be trained with the mentality that the owner is in charge and making the decisions, for the dog to follow lead. Additionally, when I started taking him to group classes, Canyon would lunge at all the participants. I asked Sarah multiple times to have 1:1 sessions and she continued to make me go to highly stressful group sessions. For the amount of money I paid, that shouldn't have been the response. I have since realized that they no longer do group trainings as they found them ineffective. As such the training program did not work for Canyon, and I am extremely disappointed because I invested a lot of money. I am going to have to pay for new training, and have asked for a refund to help pay for the training to get my dog the help he deserves, otherwise he would need to be put down. The owner refused my request, even though the program didn't work. Which goes to show you that they are driven by money and not the well being of the dog.

At the end of January my boyfriend and I decided to adopt a 9 month old golden retriever mix from our local shelter. After bringing him home, we decided we wanted to find a trainer to help us teach him much more then just sit and stay because we want him to be able to come with us all over. We looked around Loveland and Fort Collins for trainers, and eventually decided that having an in-home trainer would be the best route for us, and that's what led us to Carol. From the very first lesson our dog has shown amazing improvement, and she is always helpful and eager to provide any tips or information she can. We went from having a crazy hyper puppy, who barked and jumped up constantly, to a calm, well mannered, sweet boy who listens to us and respects us. I look forward to every lesson because I know my dog and I are going to learn so much. If you are looking for a trainer I would HIGHLY recommend her and the Bark Busters method, it's worth every penny and more.
