First grooming experience. Never had a problem in the store; However, the grooming salon was a different experience. First, let me say, I have an 11 month old lab puppy--He is hyper and can be hard to deal with because he is always happy, playful but very strong. I chose a male groomer for this purpose and made PetSmart aware when making the appointment that he can be hard to control. Since I have bathed him at Pet Market, I know these people have restraints for strong dogs. While the groomer was okay when I talked with him at drop off, I did not have a good feeling when I left. The entire vibe was off in the room with everyone and I already knew I would not be back when I signed the paperwork. I went up the road to Chick-fil-A and waited with the phone beside me. The manager called an hour later and said they couldn't do a service, which was a relief to pick him up. The manager explained he was too hyper but was nice about it. I was also told me when I got there, my dog had lunged at a couple of other dogs, which is uncharacteristic of him since he is a lover not a fighter. He is still a dog nonetheless and I was not there. They did offer another appointment time when it was calmer for him when I picked him up. I declined. Overall, I just didn't get the impression many of these groomers cared for animals. The vibe was off for a reason and that's enough for me. read more

No complaints from me with this PetSmart. I was on the road and needed to buy some bird food to take back home and they had exactly what I was looking for at a decent price. And while I was shopping I noticed that they had tons of bargains especially in comparison to my local store back home so I filled up my cart and was on my way.    Not only was I able to find everything that I was looking for but I also found some cool stuff that caught my eye so I grabbed it all up because when it comes to my Furry and Feathery Family members it's only the best for them.   Huge bonus points go to the cool Lady at the checkout who was fast friendly and efficient and you really can't ask for anything more than that. Groomers were very nice but not sure they did anything with my cat. Paid for the bath and brush with de-shed. He did not smell clean, his nails weren't cut, and the de-shedder did absolutely nothing if it was even used at all. He came back to us looking the exact same. They did not do the sanitary trim. When they called to say he was ready to be picked up, I asked and they said they "will try" if I want. It's included in the package. Do not have your cat or dog groomed here. I just became a new dog mom for the first time and came to PetSmart for assistance with my puppy needs. The staff here was very helpful in providing me with the puppy guide which includes over $300 in coupons for only $20. The guide has coupons for food, treats, dog beds, crates, leashes, and so much more. I used 6 of the coupons with my first purchase. I received some expert advice from the groomer Michael on how and what to use to clip her toenails. Chris, the floor associate helped me fit her for a harness and leash. He also took time to associate with find the right dog treats for her size. I'm extremely grateful for the PetSmart team. read more

The WORST service imaginable. Manager David and the grooming receptionist are appalling, to say the least. Immature, disrespectful, and downright lacking any customer service. We had our almost-two year old dog scheduled twice for an express grooming. At 8:30am, our appointment was turned down because the receptionist didn't feel "comfortable" with our dog since he "growled" (or so their notes said). I find that absolutely ridiculous since I've taken my dog plenty of places without any problems. If he did "growl" at them, why would they let us schedule two appointments? Maybe dogs growl when you keep them locked in cages for hours on end and restrict them when going through with the grooming. Ever thought about that? When I was there, another dog was CRYING and all they did in response was pull the poor thing by the neck. Lying and wasting time is part of this business's strategy, it seems. Obviously not happy with the manager and girl's attitude, we asked for the store manager's number, and they gave us a FAKE NUMBER. I will be finding out that woman's name and I will be taking this to corporate. Save yourself the headache and time wasted -- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They only want your money. read more

Well, all good things come to an end sometimes & I'm sad to say, Petsmart has lost my business today. Took Milo there @ his 8 AM appointment & there were 3 groomers in there & only one other dog. I go grocery shopping & to three other stores & go back to Petsmart @ 10 AM. His groomer was just drying him off from a bath! The other groomers got all smug with me & said it takes 3-4 hours. Milo's groomer told them (from the back room) that he would be done in 30-45 minutes. So basically, he's sat in a cage for 2 hours waiting to get bathed & it's only going to take you 30-45 minutes to give him a haircut?! Last time I brought him @ 8 AM, he was done by 9 AM, by the same groomer. I'm not happy about this at all. Oh & to top all that off, they wouldn't accept a legitimate coupon from my rewards app on my phone, that's from Petsmart's Pet Perks program. read more

When shopping for all of your furry, four-legged friends, this is a good place to start. I have two fur babies who need food and necessities just like us hoomans. I always shop here for them. They also have a pet grooming and training area here. As well as cats/kittens for adoption by the Humane Society in the front of the store. Sabrina (my black beauty) is a finicky eater. She likes her food to be a certain brand. Whereas, my Daisy-Mae ain't too picky in the food department. Her nickname is Hoover as she tends to inhale what's put on her plate. Petsmart has a lot of different foods to choose from for all varieties of furry friends. And non furry friends as well. They also seem to have specials on their foods, animal beds, leashes etc. which I greatly appreciate. My only complaint is there never seems to be enough people to work the registers. There's always a line to get out of the place. Overall the store is usually clean and the staff is knowledgeable. read more

The groomers were not able to trim our dog. He is a puppy, but he is good, and sweet, and loving... this is just a new experience for him, and the fact that they were not able to handle him (while another groomer subsequently was) says to me that the groomers at PetSmart were simply just not experienced enough. Instead, I paid $40 for a bath he didn't need, as he had been bathed at home the day before. In an ironic ending moment, the groomers tried to sell us on a package -- for work they were unable to perform! Sometimes, folks, it's better to deviate from the script. read more

Petsmart needs to give Dawn a raise! Our little Rocky (beagle) is a drama king when it comes to having his nails trimmed. We have tried at home and it has not gone very well. The first time we took our little guy to our local Petsmart and they did an okay job. The second time, within a minute or two, they refused to cut his nails as he squirmed and howled. Well this past Saturday we stopped at the PetSmart in Mooresville on our way home from a hike. We knew Rocky was tired so we hoped that might help (Although it never helped when we tried at home). Once we got there, Dawn checked us in and we she started to clip his nails. We went right outside just to watch and see if this would work. Sure enough, Rocky yelped, whined, howled, and moved about to try and not have his nails done. Lucky for us, Dawn kept at it and tried to do each nail at a time while giving Rocky some time to recover. She used the dremel tool to file down his nails a little bit, but was not able to get them all. She was able to clip them all though. Thank goodness! We can't thank Dawn enough for getting the job done and working with our diva of a boy. read more

I've been going out of my way to get to this location for the past year, and it's not just because I'm an ex-PetSmart employee. This PetSmart location is better than the PetCo that is located down the road from us, so for me it's worth the extra time it takes to get here. This PetSmart is a clean store, and there are usually a good number of employees on duty to assist at the register and sales floor. The miss' and I used to volunteer at a PetSmart cat adoption center, and the one here seems a bit understaffed and not as kept up, so that's a bit sad. The main thing that draws me here is the PetSmart exclusive ExquisiCat litter. Are two cats are litter box monsters, and I've found that the ExquisiCat littler seems to be the best. The prices are also pretty good, and is usually even cheaper if you have a PetSmart card. Plus since we adopted our two cats from a PetSmart in New York years ago we continue to get coupons for free cat toys and other coupons. Being cat and adoption lovers I also like that customers are given the option to donate to pet causes when they make a credit card purchase. I find that PetSmart's product selection and prices are better than that of PetCo, so I will continue to venture down to this location. read more

HORRIBLE. Avoid the grooming department!!! Miranda scalped our poor shih tzu down to the bare skin all over !! She went in with gorgeous hair and one very small mat that could have been combed out. But since we were a few min late to our appt (which we called and told her ahead of time and she said it was fine), she shaved our poor girl instead of taking the time to comb out the mat. My Last Visit to PetsSmart After purchasing my dog's items, I found the same kong treat ball for $3.00 less and Chuck it 3 ball pack for $9.00 less on amazon with free shipping. What a rip off. Also the Bil-jac treats must be too salty. My dog ate two and drink his water bowl dry twice within 2 hours. Had to throw $8 away. So I wasted $20, 1/2 of my total purchase price at Petsmart. Mr. Pettis didn't even have the decency to come out of his office to talk to me directly. I bought two fancy rats from this store in April. Took them to Banfield at Petsmart and they have LICE! Rats can only get lice from other rats and since I have had them for four months and not near any other rats, they got their lice from PETSMART. Lice can lay dormant and populate at any time. There was NO WHERE ELSE they could have got lice except from Petsmart. Brent would've even take my telephone number for Mr. Pettis to call me. AND, I showed the the moths in the food on another occasion. I will NOT be setting foot in this store ever again. Thanks for nothing Mr. Pettis and PETSMART of Mooresville. Thought if I talked to you we could agree on some sort of compensation but $108.00 later to treat lice, NOTHING....... I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

The store is good, but the grooming section is a mess. They look like they are always short staff. (Its not the employees fault) But I took my 2 yr old chihuahua and I paid for the shampoo, nails trimmed, ear cleaning and anal glands. She looked pretty good from what I saw. A few days go by, and her anal glands were not cleaned. Usually when she gets groomed she's good for a few weeks. But literally within days she was smelling so bad. I ended up having to clean her anal glads myself and they were completely full. Thats why I pay for her to get them professionally done. It was super frustrating. This was my second disappointing experience at Petsmart. Before this, they called me to have my dog picked up and when I picked her up she was still completely wet from her bath. They were in such a rush to get her out they couldn't finish drying her. I'll just stick to Petco from now on. read more

I don't want to even give them 1 star. They need to be investigated for cruelty. My dog was so traumatized that he would not leave my side and was physically sick. After dropping him off at 8 am, I get a call at 11am that they cannot finish as he is too stressed. Left butchered and half cut, I had to take him elsewhere to get groomed...by a professional. They said he was nothing but sweet and even took a video of how calm he was. They were shocked by the condition he came in. I have been in the animal welfare world for years and will never return. This location needs to be checked as their employees are not creditable IF they truly have a license to do this it needs to be revoked and the groomer needs to be fired. I'm honestly absolutely disgusted with petsmart after my most recent visit. We went in for frozen feeders and walked out with a leopard gecko that had so many layers of stuck shed it's eyes were swollen shut. I got it and brought it home, after spending over an hour of warm soaks, and cotton ball dabbing it helped most of the stuck shed come off AND it's eyes to be relieved from the swelling. I've been going to Petsmart for grooming for years, but the past two visits have been unsatisfactory. The previous visit I paid for a Bath and Furminator. I left and my dog's nails had not been cut, he did not receive a sanitary trim, he was shedding worse than when I dropped him off, and I had selected a teeth brushing service which the groomer told me his gums were too inflamed and he couldn't brush his teeth. I took my dog to the vet because I was worried and the vet told me his gums are fine and they could've brushed his teeth. I filed a complaint and was able to receive the services for free the next time. I picked up my dog today after a Bath, Furminator, and haircut with teeth brushing and he is again shedding worse than before. He still has dirt on his face that he had when he was dropped off, his nails are cut straight down rather than at an angle so it must be painful for him to walk, his hair is cut in some places and long in others, and he has a greasy substance on the front of his head. The salon used to do "Pawgress reports" and would tell you how their ears, skin, teeth, etc. looked and what services they performed. Now it's just a guessing game whether they brushed his teeth or cleaned his ears or not. Needless to say I will not be bringing him back again. Just wanted to save other paw parents the time and money. Take your pet SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

Cannot say enough about pet training instructor, Deby Fields, and her care and love for animals. We just rescued a Shar-Pei who we found out had many issues unbeknownst to us (5 pins, 2 bolts holding his hind section together, crushed pelvis that had grown in crooked which impacts his ability to digest and excrete food). She took such great care of our guy, and truly just seemed to enjoy the progress that was made via her training class. Cannot recommend her enough! read more

I took my oldest shih-tzu here Tuesday for a groom, our appointment was at 4 but i got there a little bit early and they went ahead and took us. The groomer, Michelle, asked if there was any specific way I'd like to have her cut. I just requested that she not be shaved around her face so she doesn't look like a poor rat. When I made my appointment the receptionist said three hours so off I went to do some shopping close by. I got finished early with my shopping and thought I'd just go home and wait for them to call but just as I was leaving they called and had finished Molly in a hour in a half. When I picked her up she was happy and looked great, she smelled great (not over perfumed) and was clean. The hair around her face was trimmed and looked very nice. Michelle also filled out a "Pawgress Report" for Molly explaning what she had done and how Molly did. Molly didn't like the dryer but she's not crazy about my dryer or clippers either. When I went up front to pay I couldn't find my pet perks card, every place has their own "card" and I have a million in my purse because I refuse to put them all on my key ring. She let me know about a place that puts them all on one card for me. Everyone was very helpful and I was happy with the service, I'll definately return. read more

All I wanted was an ear cleaning for my standard poodle who had recently been groomed but they said I had to get the "mega deluxe" package to get just an ear cleaning. I agreed because he had an ear infection and needed the hair cleaned out and I was not equipped to do it. Went to pick him up after they called to say he was ready, paid and went home. Went to put the drops in his ears and behold they had NOT cleaned his ears! The one thing I wanted done, paid $60+ to have done and they didn't do..... Went back up there and they said "oh he growled so we couldn't do it." First, why didn't they tell me this when I picked him up? Second, they don't have muzzles? I'm sure mine isn't the first to growl. Lastly, he never growled before, what were u doing wrong? Never again! read more

I had a horrible experience at the Petsmart grooming salon in Mooresville. I took my goldendoodle in on the 3rd of July for a bath, teeth brush, and nail grinding. I know that the next day was a holiday, but that does not mean that they can slack off on their jobs. We always make sure our doodle is brushed thoroughly and mat-free BEFORE going into the groomer because we don't want them to have to shave her. We dropped her off at 10am, and then a little over an hour later they called and told us to pick her up. We have gone to this groomer before and it normally takes between 3-4 hours for a bath, 5-6 for a full-on groom. We knew immediately that they had not done the full job. They still made us pay the full price of almost $100, even though they did not thoroughly bathe our dog, she was still damp, her breath still stank and her nails were not grinded. Not only that, but she also had mats all over her body that were not there before. I DONT recommend going to groomers like this. They are paid hourly and do not care if they lose a client. I had been taking my dog to this Petsmart for about 3 years. NO MORE!!! I have had too many bad experiences with the grooming. 1)I am on a fixed income so I had given him a bath at home before taking him in for a haircut and nails clipped. When I picked him up they had given him a bath saying that they had to express his anal glands so that he required a bath afterward. An additional $12 for something I did not request. They could have called me. 2)Bad haircut - did not do feet or ears. 3) Paid for nails to be done - got home and realized that they had not been done. 4)Groomers have a very bad attitude. 5)the last time we went there my dog did not want to go in the store. Tore out of his collar and headed back to the car. He had never done that before. Something bad had happened in that store. Never will I subject my dog to that place. read more

Went for grooming for our Lab mix. HORRIBLE, horrible, horrible. This was our 1st time going - normal groomer was booked, and our big dog was shedding like crazy for early summer and desperately needed grooming. Called for appt, described the dog, and that I wanted their "premium" grooming and the Furminator treatment. Said no problem, and booked me for 6 that night. When we arrived there were about 5 employees in the grooming room - some working, some just standing around talking about how hungry and tired they were. Took forever to check in, and they were horribly disorganized and unprofessional. A couple in front of me was picking up their dog that had been there over 3 hours, but had to be sent back b/c they hadn't finished. Ugh, bad impression to begin. Finally got checked in, told me 3 hours tops, but probably earlier. I arrived at 8:45 to pick up, and they weren't even close to being done. "We had to rewash her b/c there was soap" was the 1st of many excuses. Said they'd be done in 10 minutes and I could pay. Hesitantly paid, then stood around until 9, still not finished. Manager finally came and asked what I was waiting for. She came back out and said they weren't going to be able to finish and I would need to come back tomorrow!! She said, "Well with the Furminator, it's a 4 hours treatment." Well why the heck did they book it for a 3 hour slot??? The Manager was at least apologetic and willing to do a full refund when I told her I definitely would not be bringing the dog back. Got the poor dog after getting the refund - wet w/ clumps of hair everywhere and panting like crazy. I asked if she had had any water at all and the girl told me "yea, in her kennel." Well if she hadn't been in a kennel the whole time, maybe you would have gotten the job done! Just ridiculous. Will never be back. read more
