I took my Tibetan Terrier in for her warm weather shaving, so she wouldn't get so hot all the time! We have been taking our Westie Duncan to Mackenzie for a long time now. The groomers that Duncan had before was rough with him and he did not want to go to Pawfections the 1st time, but Mackenzie won him over. Now when we turn down the road leading to her shop he starts getting excited. The time before his last visit I arrived early to pick him up and she allowed me to come in and stand beside the table as she worked on him. To say the least I was impressed with the way she handles the pets and the kindness and love that she shows them. She is also very meticulous with the job that she does. This last visit we also took in Duncan's new little brother Archie, so she can start working with him and getting him used to be at the groomers. If you know anything about Westies that have what is called Westie-tude that starts at a very young age. When they pups they are ornery, won't sit still for anything and have the attitude of a dog 10X their size, yet she was able to win him over in one visit. We had been going to this groomer group for many years as it changed management several times over the course of years. When our regular groomer left, Mackenzie took over and our labradoodle came home with a completely shaved body from head to toe; skin exposed and nicks on her underbody. She didn't even look like the same dog. No phone call to ask permission just an admonishment that we had not brushed her daily and that it was our fault. I can assure you that our dog is well taken care of and if there was some matting (very common in a doodle) they could have been cut out with thinning shears or specialty tools. Mackenzie told me she has no tolerance for matting. Can you imaging a groomer saying that? WE will never go back and I imagine that Mackenzie will not be in business long. read more

I scheduled an appointment and when I dropped my dog off, he was at ease as Makenzie was so pleasant- mind you, my dog doesn't usually be at ease at his former groomer, so I felt super comfortable moving forward with the appointment. Makenzie did an excellent job with all of my fur baby's grooming needs and he smelled and looked great. She's gentle, thorough and takes her time. I saw this place had such strong reviews and booked an appointment for my pup! It was easy to find availability that worked for me. The place is in what looks like a house from the front and is adorable once you walk in! The staff is really friendly and patient. They took care of my dog (who has a lot of hair!) in an efficient amount of time and have very reasonable prices. Had a very timid dog and she would not get out of the car. I had called before coming letting them know that I was unsteady on my feet and would need help. I called when I arrived and no one came out to help me. I walked up to the door and opened it to ask for help. Someone grudgingly came out. My dog was so scared to go that she pooped in my car. The girl did not try to reassure my pet. Instead she told me that she was not going to do my dog. Are you serious? The best groomers in the Huntersville Concord area! We have taken our furry girl to five different groomers in the area and Pawfection stands out above the rest. They were friendly and upbeat. Both the grooming room and the pens for the animals were clean and the dogs waiting for their cut or to be picked up are kept in the front with the groomer rather than in a back room. Makenzie took the time to listen to how we wanted our Yorkiepoo cut and absolutely nailed it! They clipped our doggie's nails (actually they use a grinder and not clippers!) and made her look like a princess! They were done with her in less than 2 hours, which was amazing considering they were working on three more dogs at the same time. Just the place I've been looking for! I've tried 4 other grooming businesses and have not been thrilled at any. My biggest peeve is when they ask you to drop your dog off at 730am and they aren't ready until late afternoon. Why can't they just have an appt time instead of being in kennel most of the day? Found Pawfection on Yelp and was impressed with the reviews. Especially the ones where Ashley and Julie gave extra special care for pups with special conditions. This made me call and book! My baby had knee surgery 7 weeks ago; then we had complications with her lower spine and she is currently unable to walk well nor stand for long. We've started therapy which includes underwater treadmill, twice a day. With all her (natural) hair, she was wet all day long on therapy days.
