I recently had my dog at petsmart doggie daycare. My experience was awful. The girl that works there ERIN was short with my dog and you could tell she wasn't happy. And fully rude to me. My wife and I can't say enough good things about the staff at this PetSmart. When we moved to Orchard Park we needed to find a place close by for our senior standard schnauzer to spend his days in camp. Klaus would practically bound across the parking lot to get into to see all of his friends amongst the staff and fellow boarders. Over the course of two years he spent the majority of weekdays at PetSmart. We monitor our dog's behavior closely and based on our observations know that Klaus was welcomed and well cared for by the staff. We recently moved to North Carolina and were floored that the staff were so thoughtful to send Klaus some going away presents -- presents that indicated they knew Klaus like we know Klaus: breath chews to make his sardine habit less offensive, hip and joint chews for the old boy, a blanket for his naps, and balls for the puppy inside. We can't recommend this location any more than five stars, and so all I can say is that it's an honest and well earned five stars. read more

DO NOT COME HERE I would give them no stars if that was possible!! They are the only store I could find one wear doggy shoes and I went in with my service dog at my side and I grabbed what I was there for and as I rolled passed the daycare this women was ignoring all the dogs and kept spraying water in their face to get them to stop jump on the glass and there was one dog that was hiding in the corner afraid, she smacked a dog on the nose TWICE for barking any behavior that annoyed this woman the dogs got sprayed in the face, she never said stop it was immediately spray, there was absolutely NO playing at all she just stood with an annoyed look on her face and she was going to do something then she looked over saw me recording and stoped minutes later another employee was in there and was interacting a little bit the dogs. Then when I got to the register the women was scanning the stuff I bought and she started talking to my service dog directly to my service dog and my mom asked nicely to please not distract him because he is an alert dog and keeps me out of the er after that was said she got an attitude and I trained Apollo to lay down whenever I stop and people always thinks it's because he's tried so she said "oh well he looks tired" she was very nasty to me after that was said! When I have Apollo halt (lay down) next to me he is on alert and looking around. They also have a PIT BULL AND BULLY BREED BAN!!! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Have been getting my dog groomed at PetSmart for years. After one visit he was acting different and clearly he had some kind of traumatic event bc he has been nervous ever since. Despite him being nervous he has never been a danger to himself or others. Today I was told he is REQUIRED to have an express service less than 2 hours before his original appointment and therefore need to reschedule. I've looked up company policy, it is not the case. They then stayed its because he has a heart murmur (changed their reasoning). He has had a heart murmur (benign) for over 4 years now, so either they broke their own policy many times over the years or they don't know what it is. Absolute dumpster fire of customer service and plain rude. Do not recommend at all. read more

If you physically shop in the store, they are very friendly and helpful. Do not have your order delivered from them via door dash! Twice now I have only received half my order. When contacting the store, I was told I would need to come to the store and pick up myself or they would issue a refund of the items. Because I needed the dog food, I drove there ( 20 min drive) and picked up the rest of the order. I contacted door dash and they told me it was the store's problem. There was nothing they could do about it. The store said I had to contact Door Dash as there was nothing they could do about it. I stopped here for the first time in at least a year because I was in the area. I was looking for a special type of food for our 2 cats. Ample parking is available The selection in the cat food department was more than impressive with 3 isles devoted to foods alone. It took me about an hour to find what I needed. Overall, the prices were about what you'd expect from a specialty store. I only gave 3 stars because during my entire time in the store, not one employee approached me and asked if they could provide any assistance. It would have been extremely helpful in shortening my time in the store. In addition, many of the shelves were poorly stocked with many products entirely missing. This place sucks. On paper the amenities seem nice. However, the execution is awful. Staff is unfriendly, don't really "care" about the animals, and are forced to follow such restrictive policies that it's amazing any animal completes a stay here without incident. We've made 3 boarding appointments here. 1 went fine. Second time they called every day because the dog wasn't pooping to their liking and wanted to take her to a vet. I had to get a relative to pick her up in order to not pay for their scammy vet visit. 3rd time they denied the dog on check in day. Do not book here unless you want to be scrambling the day of your vacation for a new kennel or you enjoy hearing from your kennel every day on your vacation about nonsense. The day I'm leaving for vacation I bring my dog to the petsmart hotel and they now tell me that can't take my dog. Hours before I'm leaving for vacation. What am I supposed to do now? It would have been nice if someone said something when I made reservation or even a day before I was leaving, NOT at drop off. I asked to speak to the manager and he ignored me and continued to walk around not listening to my complaints. He then says he can't help me and pawns it off on the assistant manager. We went here on a Sunday to get fish and supplies for our other animals. An employee greeted us at the door. As we were looking at fish, someone came to help us and mentioned there were only 3 people working at the time, so there might be a bit of a wait. We looked around and when we were ready, asked for help. They did an amazing job juggling everything they had going on and we didn't have to wait long at all. The checkout line moved quickly, even with busy weekend traffic and only one cashier. I was really impressed by the excellent customer service we received despite being short staffed. This is a review on grooming. The first time I made an appointment here (OP Amelia Drive location) I selected Ryan as the groomer. I had never been here before, but my regular groomer was closed, and it turned out that Ryan was amazing. She did my dog right away when I brought him in, and was done within an hour. For my dog's next (and subsequently LAST) appointment, Ryan wasn't available, so I had to go with someone else, named Kierstyn. The appointment was for 12:45, so I dropped him off at 12:30. Well, 3:30 rolls around, and no word, so I call to ask what was going on, and was told that they didn't even start on him yet. I asked why it was taking so long and the response was "well she has a lot of dogs to do today.." -- unbelievable. It wasn't until 4:30 when they called and said he was ready, and when I went to pick him up his grooming job was terrible. They said he was "difficult" and they said if I should bring him in again I would need to select a more experienced groomer (as if it's my fault somehow, lol) I said yeah, he was difficult because you stuck him in a cage for three hours and he's not used to being in a cage, he's never been in a cage his entire life. The problem seems to be common, and the same problem that everyone else has -- they will book your appointment for a certain time, and then keep the dog in a cage for HOURS until they finally get to them later on, IF they are busy and take too many appointments, as to where they have too many dogs and not enough groomers to do the dogs. This is clearly a management problem. I couldn't imagine having to wait three hours in a cage to get my own hair cut. Just completely unacceptable. If you're going to take appointments and be hours behind what the actual appointments are, there's something wrong here. It seems that management does this on purpose, with little to no regard for the well being of the animals and their owners. Because of that I would suggest staying away from using their grooming services. read more

This review is specific for the Pet Hotel at the store. I only deal with this place if I am doing a last minute trip and my usual boarding places are completely booked. As a last resort I try to put up with them because they have my dog on record. Talking about records. Don't even bother trying to fax them your vets up-to-date records. I tried 2 different days, at different times and they never got them. I was in hold the second time to make sure they got them, but they didn't. Bring a hard copy or don't bother. Something else that I really don't appreciate is that they nickel and dime you for everything. Do you want your dog to play with other dogs or by himself supervised? That's extra. How many times? Each one will cost you. Does your dog need to take pills? That will also cost you extra. Check-in and check-out can takes a while. I have been the for 20+ minutes. I don't want to sound like it's all negative, I'm sorry, it's hard not to. I know the staff means well, but there is some serious improvement they need to do for this place to be worth while. read more

My dog boarded here for 8 days while my family and I were on vacation. I was already apprehensive about taking my fur baby here as he has never boarded with them. My fur baby has always boarded at his vet or another kennel closer to my home. Unfortunately my fur baby's vet stopped doing boarding due to being short staffed. The other kennel which not at the top of my list was fully booked. So I decided to give Pet Smart a try. When I called and asked for rates I was told $33 a day. They would charge extra for supplying their food. I was never told that any play time since he is not neutered would cost extra. Saturday rolled around I get a call that my dog is going to Orchard Park vet which is not my fur baby's doctor. I was told it would be a minimum of $150 to go there. They said he blood in his stool. I said well that happens from time to time and is normal for him especially after being constipated. They still took him to the vet. The vet called me and told me exactly what I told the people at Pet Smart. Still wanting to charge $150. Pet Smart "generously" (lol) paid the $150. I go to pick my fur baby up, he was not ready. I was told they had him down for another day. The female told me he smells like urine. He was urinating all over his crate, when other dogs walked by. She said "I was going to give him a free bath." I asked if she could cut his nails she told me if she could there is a charge for it. I said that is fine. I told her I'd be back by 4pm. I went back promptly at 4pm and I was told what a great time my fur baby had and how healthy and happy he is. They bought him out to me. He was coughing (sounded like a goose). He was not acting his normal self. We got him home he slept the remainder of the day, he was very lethargic. Well...I noticed while he was "sleeping" his testicles had cuts on them and they were red and inflamed. He kept changing positions to keep pressure off of them. He had several cuts on the sides of his paws. Come to find out my fur baby, who is vaccinated now has kennel cough. I knew I should have listened to my gut about boarding him here! I will never be doing that again. He still is not acting right and he seems traumatized and is having issues with his crate at home now. If I could give ZERO stars I would! read more

I can't say that this pet store leaves me feeling very impressed, though I don't exactly have any issues with it either. It's your typical big-box pet store. I recently switched my dog to a new food and they carry it. I honestly wish I could find a decent local store to patronize instead. Especially considering how expensive the food is! I can say that the store is clean and fairly organized though. They have a lot to choose from as far as treats, toys, food and other products go, though I wish they had more natural options. This location has is always well stocked with a variety of pet supplies that are easy to find. You can bring your pet with you to shop! They sell birds, snakes, gerbils, hamsters and chinchillas. They have a cat adoption center as well. The only downside to this location is the checkout lanes are usually very slow. read more

Out of all the pet stores I've been to - this one let me down more then any other! Though the store was very well stocked in most categories - the pricing of what they had seemed higher then any other pet store in WNY and PA! The fish selection was limited, the reptile selection was basically non-existent and they basically had nothing as far as pets. We normally buy Bully Slices at our Pet Store for $7.99 per bag - at this store the exact same thing was $12.99 - this is a horrible mark up and those types of differences were found throughout the store. The only thing they did excel at was live aquatic plants. I'm not sure how good they do, but they seemed to have a large selection to choose from - whether or not they grow is another question, but at least they had them. However, they seemed extremely high priced. BTW - I didn't see any salt water fish either! Yes - we will not be going back to this store. One more thing - the mom and pop pet stores have ALL proven to be better then these big places! read more

This is one of the two local locations that have an in-store pharmacy therefore I can buy my prescription cat food here. They don't keep a large stock of the prescription food and are often out of what I came for. The food doesn't have a short shelf life so I'm not sure why this is an issue. None of the locations are exactly convenient for me so it's really disappointing to get here and them not have the items I need. On the plus side, they have a large parking lot which isn't hard to get into. They always have kittens for adoption and it's fun to watch the dogs play in their day camp. read more

I took my 8 month old Golden Retriever here for a grooming appointment this morning. The groomers themselves were friendly. As for the service it's self I'm VERY dissatisfied. Initially I made the appointment for the full works(full haircut, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and deshedding treatment). They have various levels of grooming and initially I chose the highest level. When we arrived the groomers insisted on only trimming around his body. Which I agreed with because he's my first dog and I'm still learning what to do. They took the full 3 hours to give him a basic trimming which came out patchy and in many spots hair was left uncut. I feel like they didn't pay my dog much attention at all. When I came to pick him up they told me that the service would still be the same price even though my dog didn't receive a full haircut just the hair trimming. Based off of the haircut and price I feel like we were scammed. I've been to a couple other places with my puppy who charged me less and paid greater attention to detail. I go to PetSmart at least twice a month for food, treats and toys. I really wanted to like the grooming services here. Instead my dog left frightened and I very disappointed with PetSmart. I really hope they make some improvements. read more

I went here after looking at the online local ad and seeing 30 lb bags of Iams dry dog food for a few bucks cheaper than a closer store. After walking around for 10 or 15 minutes, there was none to be found. Never had a problem finding it here before. There was tons of other dry food brands on the shelves. Unfortunately, my dog will only eat Iams. This was 10am in the morning. Hardly any other shoppers. No employees offered any help at any time. I left the shopping cart and walked out. Found what I was looking for at the usual place I go to. Not even a pet store, but plenty of what I needed. Sale or no sale, I won't be going out of my way to shop here anymore. read more

I take my dog here for doggie day camp and have taken him to the groomers twice. I have nothing but good things to say about the girls that take care of my boy. I stop over on my lunch break sometimes and see them interacting with him and the other dogs there. I even get a report card at the end of the day of how he did. read more

They called us yesterday because we were on the cancellation list and said we could get your dog in the next day at 4. We said great. My wife took the dog and dropped her off as usual and went back at the approximate pick up time of 530. She wasn't even getting cut yet. She didn't get out of there until almost 7 and the poor dog couldn't make it to the parking lot to relieve herself. They didn't even let us know that they were running behind and our dog is a little yorkie poo with anxiety which they know. Terrible service. read more

Got both my large breed dogs groomed here. It was their first time so, I was not sure how they would do. I got them all the works! Teeth brushing, shampooing, hair, nails, etc. (they even smell like cookies) I am so happy with how they turned out! Just took our Havanese, Tango, to Orchard Park Petsmart yesterday. Becca was his groomer. When I picked him up I was awestruck. This was first time a groomer listened closely and he looked just like I'd hoped. Becca gave examples of length and truly aimed to please. So wonderful to pick him up and not be in a little bit of shock over how short he'd been cut. Thank you Becca!!! You rock! read more
