Made an appointment for my cat to get his nails trimmed over the phone for 7am. The confirmation text i received the following day was for 8am, so had to call and sort that out and they told me i was good to go. Show up at 7am for the appointment and they tell me I'm actually missing paperwork that no one had told me when I'm scheduled so they couldn't trim his nails. Then they told me the time slot i booked this appointment for no longer exists, so I couldn't even reschedule. I always try to book early in the morning so it's not as busy so my cat doesn't get scared of the dogs around. But now I wasted 30 minutes at 7am and couldn't even get his nails trimmed and now I have to find somewhere else to go because they no longer have the early morning appointments for cats. read more

This has been the only time I've taken my dog here. Now it's true that I can be sensitive to how they treat my dog. Let me tell you they did an amazing job. We didn't get anything huge done, but we didn't have an appointment and they didn't ask for one. The only thing required was proof of current rabies shot. They are courteous and asked if there was anything that they needed to take extra care in since they saw she was an older dog. I appreciate that since she does have hip dysplasia, because of this and her being a bigger dog she decided not to use raised tables to avoid any possible injury. We went in for a pawdicure to have great looking nails. This includes a nail trim and grind, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. My dog is older and can get anxious when they do nail grinding, since it's an unusual feeling. The girl who was taking care of the nails asked for help so that another employee could give her moral support and comfort my baby while she finished her pawdicure. My dogs nails look great and they didn't bleed at all. I am very happy with the service that was provided today. I feel they went that extra mile to make her feel at home. We had scheduled an appt online for 12:00pm on 11/11/24 in room for a possible ear infection. When we arrived to our appt we were told that our in-room appt was actually a drop-off appt. When we told the receptionist that we scheduled it as in-room appt she began to argue with us saying that that means drop-off. I was pretty upset as she continued to tell me In-Room means drop off. Despite there being options for In-room and drop-off. And our confirmation also stated it was an in-room appt. I explained that we would never have agreed to a drop-off appt due to our dog's anxiety. She then says rudely that "they tried to call" when we never received a phone call NOR a voicemail regarding our appt. And I did verify that our number WAS correct in the system. After telling her we were not comfortable dropping him off we were told we could either leave and go to another location or we could come back at 4pm. But we live over an hour away so that was not something we could do. On top of arguing with us about our appt she also began lying to us. She was lying by saying all doctors and all technicians were busy in surgery. And no one was available to see us for our appt. But 15 minutes later she was loading up a client in room for THEIR in-room appt. She continued going back and forth arguing and lying about things. Also going as far as saying that technicians do not do dental cleanings, which I know is another lie because I'm a retired CVT of ten years. And I have done hundreds of cleanings myself. I've also worked with professionals that came from banfield where they also had performed many dental cleanings. But after demanding to still be seen since we had an appt, we were finally put in a room where she said it would take over an hour before anyone would come to talk to us. When I tried to talked to her about this she shut the door in my face. Luckily we were seen 12 minutes later and our appt started without any issues. The technician and DVM were awesome and I really appreciate them being so kind and helpful. I have no issues waiting and I also understand scheduling errors as I've worked in the field prior. My issue lies with the lying and the lack of ownership to THEIR scheduling error. I also did not like the combative behavior from the receptionist. Moving forward being upfront and honest goes a long way when dealing with clients and clinical errors. I would have been completely ok with waiting hours if it would have been communicated that they made an error and were willing to work us in. Rather than deflecting and not taking ANY ownership to their scheduling issues. Also how and I suppose to entrust you with my pet when the staff is lying and refuses to take any responsibility for errors? Please have a talk with your receptionist and make sure they have proper training in customer service and how to properly resolve issues. Thanks read more

We brought our German shepherd here for grooming and she came back to us traumatized with red marks on her face and legs from what I am assuming was the shaver. We've taken her here numerous times and she has never came back traumatized this way. She got home and laid in her kennel the rest of the night it broke my heart. We were told she was difficult and very anxious to work with. We were told that they couldn't handle her because of her anxiety and behavior despite using 2 groomers. We have never been told she was "too much" before especially when using 2 groomers. It made us think there was more to the story. Perhaps they just didn't have the patience or time it took to handle a long haired German shepherd with care. They told me Kali would not sit still for a second or let them go near her toes. The supervisor admittedly expressed how bad Kali looked and how they couldn't handle her appropriately. Blamed kalis anxiety for this and did not charge us. Seemed like Petsmart grooming is more suited for small dogs who are okay with standing on elevated tables and are focused on a quick turn around. After a lot of research we decided to take our dog to "Lunas paw spa" with educated and licensed groomers. Upon taking her back the owner expressed her concern right off the bat as too how short kalis hair was for a long haired German and that she believe Petsmart cut kalis undercoat which is a big no no for long hair Germans as that helps cool them down. When I picked Kali up the owner showed me red marks she found on kalis face and back of her legs as if Petsmart groomer took a zero or 1 to the back of her legs scraping her skin. Kalis demeanor was a complete 180 from when we picked her up from Petsmart. This time Kali was calm. She was happy. She was sitting and by my surprise the owner saw a patch she forgot to get on her toes. She grabbed the shears came back and Kali quietly and patiently lifted her paw and allowed her to clip the remaining hair. No wiggle no fuss. The Groomer(s) there told us kali was extremely calm and easy to deal with. I will forever recommend LUNAS PAW SPA and recommend avoiding Petsmart grooming. I genuinely feel like Petsmart groomers just lacked the knowledge and education required for big dogs and/or long haired breeds and dealing with undercoats. I truly believe Kali was traumatized by her experience with Petsmart groomers. We had taken her to Petsmart many times before but something was different about her last visit. read more

Went to pet smart in Ahwatukee Arizona and the customer service was awful and very frustrating. I purchased a tag and went to engraving machine. The girl at the register handed me the receipt and said the bar code is on there to engrave your tag. Ok great! So I proceed to start engaging and when I enter the barcode I kept getting an error it was wrong I tried multiple times. So I go back to the same girl at the register hand her the receipt and said where exactly is the 12 number code because it's not working. Again she responded it's on the bar code. I go back and try again for at least 10-15 mins. She never came to assist never asked if I needed help. I had to go chase down another associate to help me only to show me the barcode was on the back of the packed the tag came in! Complete waste of my time. I will not be back. read more

She's a timid, camera shy (lol), people shy girl who is no fan of nail trimming/ grinding and ear cleaning- Rachel and Rebecca treated her like she was their own dog! Taking extra care, attention and time with her to make her feel calm, safe and happy. Highly recommend them - Pawdicure $20 for the works- completely worth it + $5 tip b/c I believe great customer-service deserves to be tipped with a service like this. :) read more

Don't waste your time at this location! I've never had issues with Petsmart grooming until this location. I made an appointment through their app for 3:30 and I get there to find out that they don't take appointments past 3 because it takes 2-3 hours to get a dog groomed. It's never taken more than an hour, and the two workers there were standing around talking. It was very dirty here, and the person that talked to me was very unprofessional. read more

There is something to be said about shopping online these days. I came to the store and search for one particular dog toy. First of all, they didn't have it, and the next size down was 50% more expensive than I would have purchased on chewy. Second, it is a challenge trying to navigate the store without getting caught up by pet owners who let their pets jump up on anyone passing by. A lot of clueless pet owners and they all seem to congregate here. Third, there is usually a 10 minute line at the checkout. The line is actually not that long but it seems the checkout process takes a little while here. Not sure what can be improved but just something to take into consideration. I made an appointment for my Golden a couple of weeks ago for today at 1:30pm. In the midst of buying a house, the inspection was scheduled for 4pm. I called before hand to find out how long it would take for his appointment and was told 3-4 hours. When I do the math, I'm thinking that he would be ready around 430-530pm. This seemed feasible since their website reflected that they would close at 6pm. At the check-in, I failed to remember his rabies vaccination information but was able to confirm the dates with his Veteranian. It was confusing because one lady said I could call and get the expiration date, then the groomer said she had to be the one to talk to them. At 3:18pm, I received a call that my dog was ready to be picked up. That I would need to pick him up by 3:45pm since that would be their last pick up slot for the day. I was confused by how quickly they finished and then wasn't able to get a solid answer on "What would happen if I were to show up at 4pm?" I kept being told, "well, we close at 4pm so no one will be here." After two separate calls with the groomer and later the store manager, I was told that they would wait for me to show up and not charge me the daycare fees. It would have been helpful to know that was even an option because I would have been more than willing to pay the $25 fee and still be able to make my home inspection. I felt this whole experience was extremely unprofessional. A lot of confusion would have been prevented had they mentioned the pick up time and early closure on the phone when I called the first time or during his check-in. While my dog looks great, I do not plan to use these services at this location again. read more

Had my doodle groomed for the first time and it turned out terrible. I asked if they have experience with doodles and was told they did. Gloria pretty much shaved my doodle even though I asked for her paws and face to be left a bit fluffy. The shaving is uneven and there are patches that she missed. Her paw pads were not cleaned up. Her stomach has burn marks from the clippers and she's been licking them since I brought her home. After 3 days, my dog is already reeking and smells so bad. In my 4+ years of owning my doodle, this was the worst grooming job ever. read more

For starters, i take my dogs to be groomed every 2 months. I switched from a different Petsmart i had went to for 13 years because their groomers a rude and unfriendly. I brought two shih tzus here for premium grooming. Gloria was her groomer, the girl with lots of tattoos. They told me one of them had mats on the outside if her ears and would need shaved. Thet also said the top base of her tail had a small mat and that tiny part would need shaved but the rest of her pretty tail would be spared. I told them to let the to her hair on the top of her head grow out because i want to put a pony tail on top of her head. When i picked her up, she was literally bald all over with the haired shaved off of 7" off her tail which has not matted. Hair on her head and face was very short. Even the hair on the inner side of her ears were shaved off. She looks aweful!!!! My other little shih tzu had no mats, but 3" of the top half of his tail was shaved. I told them not to brush his teeth because he had recently had his teeth deep cleaned and had 9 teeth pulled and his mouth was sensitive. On the progress report, it indicated that his teeth had been brushed. I didn't notice this until after i came home. I'm furious that my instructions were ignored and my dogs looked butchered when i picked them up. read more

I'm not really sure how to handle the situation my puppy and I have gotten ourselves into from our experience with the PerSmart groomers. I very rarely leave reviews anywhere for anything, but I think I need to warn you all about whatever goes on at this grooming location. I took my 6 month old puppy in for a puppy bath and groom last Monday. This was his second time going in for grooming at this location. I don't have any problems with the staff - they treated me with respect and care and customer service was decent. I also have to say that they did a pretty great job with his nails. He had been there for a little over 5 hours, so I gave them a call to make sure everything was okay. They told me he absolutely would not let them pluck his ears and that was why they were taking so long. Whatever, I didn't much of it since he's a puppy still experiencing a lot of things for the first time - I picked him up an hour later and we went about our day. Fast forward to Saturday. He had been itching at his ears all week, but on this day I could tell they were really bothering him - head shaking, itching at his ears, and he would bite at me every time I tried to lift up his ears to look. I eventually got a good look and they were extremely inflamed. I took him to the emergency vet the next day and, lo and behold, he has a yeast infection in both ears. He is in a lot of pain and discomfort right now, and he has to wear an E collar for the next two weeks, which he absolutely despises. He's a goldendoodle, so I do understand that dogs with big, floppy ears are more susceptible to ear infections than other dogs. However, I refuse to believe that there is no correlation between this and the grooming he received, especially with the supposed trouble they had with his ears. This is the very first time he has ever had a problem with his ears, so it's not like it's a reoccurring issue and I'm blaming PetSmart for convenience sake. I'm not going to ask for my money back with them because I'm not interested in being THAT customer, but I will not be taking my puppy back to be groomed there - I don't feel like he's safe there anymore. read more

Came into the store and grooming salon on Saturday 5/12/18 for a walk in appointment to get my dogs nails clipped. I have never been to this location's salon so I called ahead and they told me I just needed to bring in my dogs Rabies Vaccine records and I would be all set. They quickly got me logged into the system and got my dogs nails clipped within 5 minutes of me walking into the store. Everyone working was very friendly! Only complaint is that it is a bit inefficient to not have a place to pay in the actual grooming room, you have to take the receipt they give you out to the normal Petsmart check out line. This review is strictly for their grooming salon. Previously we had taken our 7 Year old boxer, Rosco, to the Gilbert/202 location and we had a terrible experience. However, our experience at this location was completely different. The staff was very friendly and I expressed my concerns due to the Gilbert location upsetting not only us but poor Rosco literally left shaking. They tried to ease our worries and reassured us they would take great care of our dogs (we were also bringing our 12 week old Boston terrier Zeus too). Zeus is still gaining a personality and just loved the attention regardless but Rosco is older and is a gentle soul which the Gilbert location very clearly didn't care about. The two girls that worked with our dogs (Brittany and... I cant remember the other girls name) were awesome with our pups. They both got spoiled by everyone in the salon, especially Zeus since he's a puppy. This time Rosco left happy and excited. I was amazed at how smooth and clean they got his nose which I struggle with keepnig moist and dirt free. They both smelled great too and each got a cute bandana to take home which they wore for the rest of the day. We'll defintely be back! FYI, the only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I think the prices are a bit high for Zeus. I think $25 for Rosco is a great price, he's a 70lb dog but once Zeus hits 4 months (which is next week) he'll also be $25 and I think thats a bit much for a 7lb dog. And even more so I dont like that the nail griding is an extra $12 per dog. Thats way too much. It should either be part of the grooming fee or should only be a few bucks extra. For the amount I have to pay for nail grinding on both of my dogs I could get an entire other dog groomed. lol read more

I had used other grooming services with PetSmart (not this store tho) before and it never worked so we drive Bill Clinton now for 30 minutes and it is totally worth it. I have been bringing my dog mollie to this grooming facility since she was a pup and she is now 9 yrs. All of the groomers that I've had been awesome and they always do a great job! The groomer that I especially like and who has been there for a while is Gloria. She is professional and I feel that she truly cares fo my Mollie. Today I was impressed with the impeccable job that she did with the grooming, but was especially impressed when she physically picked up mollie as she was passing by another dog that she was not sure liked other dogs. This shows that she cares for safety since we all know how unpredictable dogs can be at times. I definitely recommend her, but all of the groomers do a great job, so you'll be in good hands no matter what! read more

Wow what of a horrible experience I had there. I took my dog Jack a little toy miniature schnauzer in to get a bath and a haircut. The groomer Gloria immediately says to me that he has a mat on his leg. It seems like she does not perhaps know how to do a proper haircut for a dog because our little Jack came back as Jack the rat meaning he was completely shaved everywhere for no reason. The only reason we can come up with is that Gloria the groomer does not like to groom dogs but she prefers to shave dogs. If I wanted my dog shaved we would have done that ourselves. Charged more than website said prices were, and my dog came out with a ton of loose hair all over her. The back of my SUV looks like she did the haircut inside my car. Would have been nice if she would have bathed her after the cut or at least blew her off before sending her out. I paid for 2 full haircuts with bath.
