Grooming Services- I arrived a few minutes early, She was just finishing up a grooming. I watched the pups at both stations were calm and cooperated with the Pet Stylists. Commented on their behavior- Wondering to myself - this is going to be an experience- my pups run when this see the brush in my hand, and not a fans of confinement. I tried to give her a heads up. I have a 3year old Pomsky - she rules and controls most situations. The Siberian Husky in her demands that, the Pomeranian in her just adds to watch me - lol And I have a 10 month Samoyed, Shes a big girl already weighting in at 39 pounds. She also demands attention and they do make some commotion at times. Between the two She will be more likely to cooperate with the stylist. I joked and said which would you like first the excited and wild or happy all I want to do is be in your face? Allisyn chose the wild Pomsky. They were only getting a their nails trimmed. SAMMi went along turning her head to see if I was there, but went to table station. Table had many leashes and hooks to help keep the pups in place. SAMMi was challenging, trying to take back her paws, but she her was able to trim her nails down in no time at all. STEVi was next, she didnt look back - went along to the station. These stations were designed to keep them standing and in place to make the stylist job somewhat smooth and timely. STEVi figured out how to sit and have her nails trimmed. I watched and was amazed at the controll, patience and skill she had when handling my puppies. Well - ALLISYN is a dog whisperer. Happy to say it went well. No issues at all. Done in 30 minutes. Price was more than reasonable, compared to many. As for PetSmart - store was clean, well stocked and organized. I would recommend ALLISYN for your pups in need of a nail trimming- thats the only service here I can comment on. read more

I ordered a package for dog services, which was dog grooming I went in a day earlier to drop off the vaccine paperwork that they requested. I saw a stylist yelling at a dog, and she continue to yell at her, even though it was anxious. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt maybe all of them are not like that. The next day, my appointment is set for 3:30 PM. I have arrived on time to drop off my pet. They canceled it since they wanted to go home earlier on Valentine's Day, which is understandable but why set up appointments that you can't keep they called one time at one to notify me to bring my pet earlier. I didn't receive the call so I still arrived on time they refused my services so I refuse to use their services ever again. This place sucks Especially for $90 just to wash and cut my dogs hair. read more

First place that my dogs have not been scared to go back to started her at 10 weeks old. Took her every two weeks. She's now four and a half months old and still has no problem going to the groomer. Thanks for taking her in and working the process. read more

Don't waste your time. I got a quote and when I got there, they upped it 50%. Also everybody there have terrible attitudes from groomers to receptionist. Very very upset when I picked up Bear. I had discussed the length and even the size clippers that she would be using which was number four. When I picked him up as you can see in the pictures he had no hair left she must have used a number two clippers and His head is so uneven. This was the third time I had brought Bear in and have not received the service I requested and the price has gone up from 25$ to 38$ and than 65$ I would never bring Bear back!! So, at 8pm my 55 gallon fish tank decided to spring a leak. It also chose the bottom of the tank to do it. I called, told them it was a 911 fish emergency and asked if they had a 55 gal tank. The young man said yes, I said have it ready we will be there in 10 mins. He had a 55 gal complete set up ready, opened a register for us and had us set up and car loaded in under 3 mins. Amazing service, great price and we did not lose a fish. read more

Our dog was injured getting her nails trimmed. Brought in our 10 year old dog for a nail grind. We told the technician that she had an injured rear leg and couldn't stand on it and needed to be supported. The technician ignored this and made her stand on the injured leg. Also the technician forced her front paw backwards causing our dog pain. This resulted in our dog limping after the appointment. Our dog also suffered a bleeding tongue which may have been caused from her pain. Very disappointed. Will not return back. read more

Let me preface this by saying 1-I live in north port(20-30 minutes away) 2-I specially chose to go out of my way to this location and this company because of the wonderful service I received during previous visits there. Absolutely appalled by the service I received at the port Charlotte location. First I was lied to when trying to schedule an appointment. They stated that they don't take appointments. When I arrived at the grooming area, I was told that they can't groom my dog unless I brought her current rabies vaccine paperwork (something that should have been mentioned when I called) However I asked if calling my vet to get verbal approval would suffice. They accepted that option. During the nail grind process, the groomer burned my dogs pads in several places, causing her to freak out and try to nip the groomer. The groomer then shoved her elbow into my terrified dogs neck essentially choking my dog. When the nail grind was finished the groomer neglected to give my dog a treat (even though the other dogs that were getting groomed received one.) After loading my dog into the car, I attempted to inspect her paws, but she whined and pulled her paws away from me due the pain caused by this "groomer" My poor dog held her head down during the car ride back and didn't want to look out the window (could tell she's in pain and not happy) I will never go back to any PetSmart location for any reason. I will warn friends and family members to avoid this specific and all PetSmart locations. read more

My doodle, Wrigley, is a regular customer at the grooming salon. He had an appointment every 6 weeks. I love the way he has been groomed in the past. I just received a message from his groomer that the grooming salon was back open again. I was thrilled and returned the call, only to be told that the first available appointment was June 13. Anyone that has a doodle and hasn't had a grooming cut for 2 months (due to coved 19) knows that another month is not feasible! I just booked at another grooming salon that was recommended by a friend. Looks like Pet Smart lost a customer. I hope they don't do this to all the customers that patronize them. Horrible service. We brought our cat in today and they refused to groom her because her name was wrong on the paper. They were condescending, rude, and made us VERY uncomfortable. In fact it bordered on abuse. The manager was horrific. Shouldn't be fired, because I hate anyone losing there job. But I would strongly a training class in customer service. While out of town, we stopped at this Petsmart for a quick nail trim. We didn't have our vet records with us so they had to muzzle our pup, Sadie, which was fine. They took her back right away, but seemed to seriously lack in dog side manner. The groomer cut the nail too short and hit Sadie's quick. When Sadie yelped, the groomer said some dogs just get nervous- completely disregarding her own mistake. Overall, not great. Take your dog somewhere better. read more

Dad has a pup that sheds horribly in the the hot Florida sun. There is a technique called the ferminator to remove all the loose hair while shining up the new coat coming in and he has bragged for days how beautiful she would be after her appointment. She did look beautiful on her back and sides but there were still spots on the under carriage and hind haunches with excessive hair falling out. Kristy was super sweet but the job was half-assed and at $60 a pop? Sorry, I wouldn't spend it again at petsmart. Addendum- dad took the other pup up for her grooming session and mentioned he was not happy with the prior days service. Petsmart performed the whole service again free of charge. Added another star for that because it still should've been performed the first time correctly read more

This Petsmart has groomed my Cairn Terrier several times and the staff has done a great job. He has been handlesdby two different staff members with equally good results. Also, took my mother's poodle for grooming---AMAZING job. The groomer took extra time to comb out his knots instead of shaving him, as many other groomers have done. I'm taking the time to write this review because I've had poor grooming at other locations and have been extremely pleased with this store. read more

I will never go there again. My dog has been groomed by them for over 4 years. I went there this morning and some new girl was there and she refused to groom my dog because he has a medical condition that he has had since he was a puppy. That has been on history since the first time. They were dismissive. I'm sorry but.... This was after it took them 3 days to call me back to set th appointment. She acted as if it was the first time we went there. He has been there every 6-8 weeks for over 4 years. She was an idiot, thinking she was doing her job. They stink at updating their records, asking me for the updated vaccine every time. As if he doesn't have one. I have learned to just keep it in my wallet and cover up the incompetence. They are very expensive and I didn't mind because they had Lance's history and i use to feel like he was in good hands. It's an all new staff and they just do not cut it. Today I had my Labradoodle groomed at the PetSmart in Port Charlotte, Fl. WOW... I have to say it's the Best grooming he's had in 11 years!! Alex did an awesome, precise & very professional job. It was the first time I decided to upgrade and have his nails 'grinded' rather then cut...they are much smoother and his paws are not as tender as they often are after other groomings. Called for pricing on teeth cleaning and the girl repeated herself with the info that didn't answer my questions and could not give me round about prices. No price break for more than one dog. They wanted me to have a full exam and blood work etc before I even had them looked at for cleaning. Ridiculous. The total cost to have teeth cleaned from what I figured out was 800 on up. Lol. Just had my dog groomed yesterday. Dog came home with cuts. Groomer's were not nice to dogs. Won't go there again .

Just horrible experience. Was given original price quote, told I could plan for 3-4 hours. App 40 minutes later I was told my dog was upset in the kennel, and I could either pick up my wet dog (guess he was "air drying in the kennel" or pay the express price $11.00 more. Of course I agreed to express. I was called again later, told he could be picked up (we are still at lunch). We left the restaurant. Went to the groomer. He was not completed and still on table. His face was fine, but his body was cut so short you could see his skin..this experience is not something I would like to duplicate. read more

Poor Knowledge of dogs. Charged for bath and nail clip. Couldn't do the nail clip but charged me anyway. Couldn't figured out which bill or dog was mine. Tried billing me of one of my dogs and someone else's. Even though the names of the owners where clearly at the top of the bill. Couldn't even figure out how to hook the lease to my dog. If I hadn't checked it would have came off as soon as I walked out the door and into the busy parking lot! Not impressed at all. Very scattered and poorly managed business.
