Love this Petsmart it's a huge store with a wide variety of products and animals I haven't seen any birds recently but they do have plenty of cats up for adoption and a wide variety of freshwater fish. Cons: drift wood mark up is shocking almost no reptile food, no variety with food, the stores switched to a more local and cheaper source for food. Pros: Good workers, variety in dog treats, cute cats, dogs and cats are allowed!! I would say the store is overall pretty good but the reptile section is just completely neglected, good for dog owners and cat owners and occasionally fish owners ( good filters, decor, ect. The fishes also look pretty healthy, some do look sick but no signs of Ick. read more

Complete waste of time!! I made an appointment online to get my 8 month old Cane Corso bathed. It was her first time, so I called to make sure they were familiar with her breed. I was told over the phone, Yes. Not the case. This was only the 3rd Cane Corso Wendy ever attempted to groom. Only 1 was successful. My fur baby absolutely loves her baths. We brought her to a groomer to help with shedding and clean her anal glands. I specifically told them she hates to get her nails clipped. Guess what? They clipped her nails and stressed her out. Then they tried to put her back in the kennel. She was not having it. They called me to pick her up. Poor baby never got her bath. I'll do it myself. Thanks for nothing. read more

Had she checked the puppies shot record CORRECTLY and not have an attitude, we wouldn't of had a bad customer service experience. Then to top it off, my daughter was accused of falsifying our puppies shot records when it clearly states on their shot records that they were up to date with all their shots including the rabies one, UGH!!! Only when we proved to them online that they did have their Rabies shot is when they believed us. She needs some kind of reprimanding. Next time, PetSmart, when you have NEW CUSTOMERS that are wanting to schedule a grooming appointment, make sure to tell them that they need a copy of the Rabies shot beforehand instead of accusing and giving attitude when it is NOT WANTED OR NEEDED! The Groomers here have really gotten bad. I've been bringing my dog since she was a puppy. She's a chocolate lab. Never had an issue with her being dry on pick up until the last couple of times. We get a phone call that she doesn't like the blow dryer. Well this is a first because she never had an issue before. She doesn't have an issue at home when we use it and all of the sudden we get her back soaking wet. Not even towel dried. We are done coming here and paying for service that is poor at best. Worst customer service ever! We went to buy a filter for our fishtank. The cost was about $175. They only had "display" boxes on the shelf and had to have a manager pull it down from a wrapped pallet. After a half hour wait we asked the employee if it was ready and she called the manager who said no he needed somebody to spot him on the fork lift. She asked if she could come spot him and she left. She came back about 15 minutes later and I asked her if it was ready and she said no the manager was busy. I went to find the manager myself and he was sitting in his office on the phone. I told him don't bother. We left and bought our filter elsewhere. Worst customer service ever! read more

This is the worst Pet Smart grooming in the High Desert. I've been having my dog groomed ever since he was two months old. But, today, I was told that they could not accept my dog because he was trying to attack the other dogs. If they cannot tell the difference between playfulness and attacking others, then I do not want them near my dog either. I usually go to the Apple Valley Pet Smart, but decided to try this one out because it's very close to my house. I would rather drive an extra 30 minutes to Apple Valley than have my dog groomed by the judgmental groomers here. read more

They called for backup and no one came for a few minutes. When they did finally come, I was the second person in line and still waited 10 minutes for my turn!! I needed help with the supplements and dog food, but no one was around to help. After looking around for 15 minutes for an employee, I asked a lady inside the groomers area if she can page someone for help. She did! Stood in the supplement aisle for 20 minutes with no help that I read all the boxes and ingredients on the joint supplements! Finally, I just decided to call my vet and they answered me within 5 minutes!!!!! Next, I went to the food aisle. Wanted to try something new for my babies, but couldn't find anyone to help AGAIN! Saw a lady (another customer) buying the Blue Buffalo brand and ended up asking her all the questions. After she answered my questions, I was able to look online and browse and decided to buy the Buffalo brand. A trip I thought would take 20-30 minutes ended up being in PetSmart for an HR! I love this place; it's one of my favorite locations. They're really helpful, great with some of the more difficult dogs that come in, and they're always happy to see my ferrets. They also care deeply about their reptiles, which I respect (reptiles are often neglected, even in pet stores). My only problem is with the people working in the fish department - anyone who suggests keeping a betta fish in a tiny bowl with no filtration or heating clearly has no idea what they're doing, and should probably switch departments. read more

This review is strictly about their pet adoptions. We have adopted 2 cats from this particular petsmart, which both have been sick. The recently adopted cat was adopted out without being neutered, which they advertised that he was. The pet adoption fee supposedly covers the fee to get the animals fixed and well, we paid for an unfixed cat. We are extremely disappointed and will not be adopting through petsmart ever again. read more

Disappointing customer service. I came in to get some medicine for my betta fish. Knew exactly which product I needed and had previously checked online to make sure it was in stock. After walking up and down the fish aisle I realize it's not there. So I go to ask the cashier to see if they have it since there were no employees walking around to help. She informs me that they do indeed have it and to check the fish aisle, so there I go again thinking maybe I missed it. However it is not there so she calls over the speaker for someone to come help me. After about 10 mins of waiting and not seeing a soul walk by, I walked out empty handed. Ive been bringing my pet here for months and Last time I came To get my dogs nails grinded jacky was super rude and forgot to do two of his paws which shows the lack of attention they have. Today we dropped my pet off for an appointment with Dez, and he came home scared and had BRUISES on his legs, ive had him for a year or more now and he's never had marks on him like this. The good and the bad. The good is they have a lot of product. The bad is the poor customer service or the poor policies. On Wednesday, April 2017, I called to make reservations to have my dog washed and groomed on the upcoming Saturday. They said I would need to bring in a copy of the shot records. I told them I normally get the shots from a vet supply store and administer the dog shots myself every June. However, I would take my dog to a vet on Saturday before I come in and therefore give them the shot updated shot record. I was assured that would be fine as long as I had the shot record. On that Saturday, our dog had her shots. We drove 45 minutes from Wrightwood with our dog and the shot records. The employee at Petsmart said he could not groom the dog today because they have to have 48 hours between shots and grooming. The female manager agreed with him and said that was their policy in the event the dog has a reaction to the shots. I explained to her we would be in the immediate vicinity and if there was a reaction, which there never has been before, to call me and I would respond. Anyway, they did not seem to care that another employee said it would be fine and that we drove a fair distance. I rarely go into their store and certainly won't now. I just feel they were unreasonable and lacked some customer courtesy. I'm notifying their corporate office now. read more

The staff is extremely lazy and totally worthless! The "shift leader" can't even be bothered to type in a few numbers in order to take a simple coupon. And the manager of course can't be bothered to speak with customers. PetSmart, If you are going to hire people to work at your store you should probably make sure they can read and are equip with common sense. Every time I've been here has been a complete nightmare. But unfortunately when you're limited on what's available then you don't really have a choice. If I was the corporate office I would fire everyone since nobody clearly knows how to work a register and start from scratch. My 8 year old knows simple math, maybe he would be a good candidate? That said he's also has been raiseds to have manners. Which I originally thought was a necessity when working in customer service but clearly I'm wrong. If you're looking for a place that doesn't make you feel like you need to take an immediate shower and has employees who don't act like their to busy to be bothered. Then I would recommend petco or maybe even Walmart. There may be shootings there every so often but at least IF you make it out in one Piece you aren't mentally exhausted from having to think for everyone around you. read more

I have been getting my dogs groomed here for 8+ years and today I was informed that there is no record of me anywhere in their computer. I tried telling the girl on the phone that it has to be their mistake and her response is no I don't think so. I'm taking this as a sign to finally leave this place and find better groomers. The last few times I took them I got a new girl and she was horrible. I know she must have mistreated my dogs in some way because she was shaking and looking anxious. When I finally got her with one of her regular groomers he said that she was a bit aggressive which never happened before. So I know that lady hurt my babies. Never again!! read more

I adopted a kitten on 7/2/2014 from their center and I was told she had just seen a vet the day before and had been given a clean bill of health. She had a little crusty scab on her head the guy told me was probably a scratch from another cat and was fine... In 2 weeks it never got better and spread to her paws and tail! 3 trips to their Banfield vet center and 250$ later turns out it was RING WORM!!!! They refused to accept any responsibility and said kittens are sold "as is"!! Unbelieveable! If you got your kitten from the Armagosa store around 7/2 you should have it checked for sure because ring worm is highly contagious!! TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND I'll never adopt from them again!! read more

This is for the Banfield hospital attached- If I could give more stars- I would! Took my 2 blue nose pits in yesterday for their wellness checkups & I was pleasantly surprised with a vet that actually knew what she was talking about and CARED! Dr. Shauna Anderson was AMAZING. My 3 year old pit has been having a very bad skin problem for the last 2 years- any other vet has just told us to use this spray to help it go away. Well it's still there- and getting worse. Shauna sat with me for over an hour discussing his treatment plan and change of diet and WHY. finally a WHY. I will forever go where Dr. Anderson works- she was by far the best vet I've ever been to! Also, all 4 other assistants were amazing. They were all so nice and caring and extremely patient. read more

This review is primarily for the Grooming Salon. I'm not impressed, especially for the price. They rushed the service and failed to follow simple instructions. I took my terrier poodle mix in for an appointment on Saturday. I didn't really know what I wanted and was told over the phone I could work with a groomer to figure out a style that would work for my doggie. Well, they were SUPER busy and I felt really rushed into a clip and 'teddy bear face' (whatever that means). I didn't even get to speak with the person who would be doing the actual grooming. I was pretty much like 'just make him look good' but I had ONE request. I did not want the hair at the bottom of his ears trimmed AT ALL. I wanted it to remain intact. I felt like I was very clear about this and even saw them write it on the ticket. Of course after about 2 hours I get a call from my groomer saying "we had an accident and your dog's hair got cut on one ear. What did you want to do with the other?". She said he 'moved' and that the hair on his ear blended in with the hair on his neck. Totally bogus! I asked for one thing and I didn't get it. I feel that being overly busy and understaffed contributed to this mistake. Either the groomer wasn't conveyed the information about the ears until it was too late or they were moving too quickly while doing doing the groom. Every groomer (including petsmart on this same visit) said he was easy to work with and did a good job, so I'm not sure I buy the 'he moved' line. My advice is to go somewhere else. At petsmart the employee's are too busy and overbooked to actually focus on what counts - the service! read more

A customer for 6 years and although I have never received excellent customer service I have never been disrespected by a staff member. In this case I feel that it was multiple employees with a complete lack of professionalism and integrity that I would like to believe would be two of the most important qualities an employer would seek. I spent an annual amount of over $1,000 on pets supplies and dog food. I had always found petsmart to have the best deals on products and service in my opinion but you can't place a price tag on customer service. Will no longer be a customer and I understand I will not be missed but as a local community based store you have truly ask yourself who are your employees and what do they get paid for? They don't own the products or departments within so why are they in the positions they are in getting paid for a service they are not providing? read more
