Groomer was friendly but my dogs were not groomed properly at all. I took my two dogs for a grooming appointment yesterday and they look like they were barely touched. My long hair GS still has plenty of knots and her fur feels worse than before. My golden has shorter hair so it's not as bad but she still has knots. They barely smell like anything and I expect them to smell good and have soft knot free fur after getting groomed. This location is very convenient but I'm going to have to stick to Posh Paws. read more

The blond in the grooming department is confrontive and rude. I would never take my dogs there again. I was given a Friday appt for my three dogs. They were behind,then she proceeded to argue with me about what kind of dogs I had and if my rabies letters were current. Then she was complaining regarding my Appt time,which I was give by them. We took our yellow lab in for a bath, trim, nail clipping and gland expression. Her nails were clipped, the glands were not expressed and the worst part was her haircut. Her tail was not trimmed nor was the hair around her rear legs or rear end. The hair on her neck is very uneven and choppy. The hair cut turned out horrible. I can't imagine anyone going home and being proud of thier hard work. The other dogs in the neighborhood made fun of her. Now we have to take her somewhere else to fix the bad cut. Awful exp all around! Rude and inexperienced grooming staff. A bunch of young girls that have no idea what they're doing! Not one nail was trimmed or filed or anything else on the Pawdicure/Plus description! "Salon" was a mess. Girl tried to argue with me about my dogs vaccine expiration because apparently they don't know what month they are in. Had me sign the wrong dogs paperwork! Immediately went in with a lead at my dogs face when I already told them she's never been here or had any of this done before. Are they not trained on handling animals either?? Was overcharged original price for dog food when their shelf tag AND online showed a sales price. Was asked to donate canned food and said they're only 50¢ each but was charged almost double per can! So I have been going to PetSmart for over 10 years and today I had the worst service ever! I receive coupons every month for my dog to get groomed, (PawDecure), and NEVER had a problem until today! My coupon indicated that she can get $10 off any bath or grooming service. The manager said nail clip is not a grooming service! Ummm....yes it is! I use this type of coupon every month! She continued to deny my coupon and said she could not make an exception. Wow! I've been in the retail management industry for 20 years and I know she could have honored my coupon for a loyal customer! Shannon is very kind and understanding. I completely messed up my schedule (showed up a day early) but she was able to accommodate my golden. She remembered him from training! I took my 3 month old maltipoo for her first grooming and I was pretty scared because she's not fully socialized yet. I called petsmart for prices and asked if it was okay that I took Olivia in at only 3 months. They assured me it would be fine and they offer puppy cuts that will gradually get her used to the process. When I picked her up, she looked adorable and was the perfect cut for her first time. Ashley was her groomer and she even wrote a little "Pawgress Report" letting us know how well Olivia did and also what she freaked out about while getting groomed (the eye cleaning). I have been going to Petsmart for about 3 1/2 years now, And decided to enroll my new Puppy Bella in the Beginning training program because the trainer MaryAnn made one suggestion for my pulling dog. That one suggestion changed my walking experience with my older dog bandit. And I am so happy I did. Within week 3 my pup has learned so much. If you are looking for a great trainer for your dog. My pup, Tip, and I are really enjoying our training sessions! Instructor Maryann is knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant to be around. Tip came into my life with some special needs. The things we're learning in class are going to help me to help him become a good companion. I didn't know what to expect from training offered by PetSmart, but I'm glad I took the chance. I've taken my Yorkie here a few times and they were decent, but after our last appointment I'm never taking him back again. They had him for over 4 hours and I didn't get a call, which is weird because he never takes that long. I tried calling and no one answered so I went in and they were so rude! They kept saying they called and some guy answered, obviously the wrong number. They had my correct number so the lady must have dialed it wrong multiple times. She was getting upset with me for not answering! But the worst part was his haircut. I specifically asked to keep his face fluffy and she cut his face hair all off and it was so crooked. He looked awful for weeks. I didn't even bother complaining because she was already being so rude and unreasonable. Also, she didn't trim his nails at all but I was charged for it. My wife and I paid upfront for training classes for 2 dogs. The trainer quit after one session. We were not notified until 15 minutes before class. I literally had my dog in the carrier when I was told. I was told that a refund was not possible, because the class weren't being canceled, just rescheduled. This was 2 months ago, I know that classes have resumed, and no one has contacted me. When my wife and I have called the store, they have blown us off and said that someone would call us. So long story short: they have collected over $600 from us for services they've never rendered. I will happily change this rating if and when PetSmart addresses my problem. read more

This is a 2 part review. The first part is for the customer service. I took my dog in to the Yuba City location on Colusa Ave. on 2/17/2023 to get her hair and nails trimmed and to get her a bath. When I got there I was told that it would take 2-3 hours, which it did. And that they would call me when my dogs appointment was over. 3 hours later and no phone call from them to let me know that she was done. So I went to check on her, AND THE SALON WAS DARK. I had to ask one of the floor associates if my dog was done. So we all went back to the salon area to see and NOBODY WAS THERE!! I overheard the floor associate tell the person that she was training that 'Sometimes the groomers leave early.' WHAT?! So we enter the salon to get my dog WHICH WAS STILL WET so we could go home. That's the 3 star portion of my review. 5 stars for Megan for talking with me about the services and how gentle she was with my dog. Up until recently I had never had an issue taking my dogs, I have 2 pitbulls, to PetSmart's grooming salon. Unfortunately this has changed over the last few months. I take then in about every 4 weeks for a Pawdicure (nail clipping, grinding, and an ear cleaning). The last time I went in there was a new employee who took care of my dogs. She forgot to do one of the paws on one of my dogs and a few nails on my other dog. She also didn't clean their ears. No big deal. I took them back in and she said she had done them already and disappeared to the back. Another associate finished the job. Today my husband took my dogs in again for the same thing. When he walked in the same associate didn't even acknowledge him yet when a different customer came in (her dog was a pit/lab mix) she greeted her promptly and took her dog back right away. However, once she figured out it was part pit she muzzled the dog. There were no signs of aggression and when the customer asked if it was normal procedure the employee said she no. The employee disappeared to the back after leaving the dog hooked on the table. My husband waited a few more minutes and then left. I don't know if it's the breed of dog or some other reason but I believe if you're going to work in a pet store, taking care of people's pets, you should do it. We will still shop at petsmart but you couldn't pay me to visit the grooming salon again. read more

Denmark (my pup) and I are so happy with our grooming appointment. I was very nervous about leaving him since he's never been to a groomers before. But oh my goodness did he love Whitney. When we stepped into PetSmart he froze and struggled to get to the grooming section. But once he met Whitney he left me without looking back . She was so wonderful with him as well as me. She made him feel comfortable and calm and explained the whole process to me and kindly answered my questions. I felt so relieved that he was being well cared for. I can't comment on the groomers here because I've never taken my pet here to be groomed but the store itself is excellent. They have a hugh selection of products and the few times I've visited the employees were helpful and polite. My cat has some joint issues and I was looking for a particular supplement. Not only did they have it, they had a ton of different brands and options. I'm afraid I can't recall who helped me but she was friendly and willing to answer my questions. The only reason I didn't give this location 5 stars is because it's a little on the pricey side and (by no fault of theirs) I hate stores where people can bring their pets to shop. I love animals just as much as the next person but trying to shop while someones pitbull is glaring at me is a little scary. I will definitely be back. read more

I've been in here a few times to get my dog's nails trimmed or get him a "pawdicure" for 19 bucks which consist of a nail trim, grinding, and ear cleaning. The first time I took him in the girl was very polite and handled him very well ,but his nails still seemed long. I brought my dog in another time and the girl was rude and seemed like she hated working with animals. My dog needs a lot of comforting and she gave him 0. The store is great and all the employees are helpful but I don't think i'll be going back to the groomers again. I just go to my vet to get my dog's nails trimmed. read more

I am not from this area, my bf and I were out here picking up our new puppy Olive from Happy Paws Rescue and we needed a whole bunch of new stuff for him so we stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. Very friendly staff and clean store! Especially compared to other Petsmart locations I've been to. We perused the aisles and got all the puppy basics (puppy pads, house training sprays, collar/leash, chew toys, treats, puppy food, you name it) and the cashier mentioned the puppy package they have which basically gave us a discount on everything we bought. The package is $20 but that day it paid for itself and then some. Awesome since we were gonna spend the $ anyway, it was a great way to save. We had some questions and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There was a puppy class being held and we were able to eavesdrop from a nearby aisle and even get some helpful tips :) read more

I really enjoy shopping at this store, just wish my dog was chill enough to take him inside with me. The store is clean, isles are big. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience at this store. Prices are 'ok' sometimes things, I feel are, are over priced, though you can get good deals. I don't buy my dog food here because I prefer more premium, all natural, no filler dog food which they do not carry. But I like buying treats and finding toys for my puppy-duppy. read more

They do an absolutely amazing job on pet training classes. We learned so much about training as well as our puppy. Don't be fooled this course trains the owners as much as it does the puppy. We learned the best ways to get our puppy on the right track and he's doing great. Highly recommend at least the 6 week course but you can save money by doing the course bundles. Also what I really liked about this course was that I missed a week because I got sick and they called to schedule a make up so that our puppy didn't fall behind schedule. All around highly recommended nothing bad to say about the training here. read more

Instead of trying to help me or offer to find one that would fit my needs they just denied me a goldfish. What kind of business is this? PetSmart is unfortunately a big-box pet store, which in and of itself typically means many bad things for the pets they carry. However, I have to say, compared to some other pet stores, PetSmart does a fairly decent job. For starters, most of the staff is friendly, or at least friendly enough to be polite. Some of their staff are really good, qualified individuals, who know most of what they're talking about, and seem to actually have an interest/care in animals. Most of the animals are pretty well cared for (again, as far as big pet stores go). For most pet purchases such as fish or hamsters, I would definitely recommend PetSmart or Gaisers if in the Yuba area. PetSmart carries many necessary pet care items at good prices, including good prices on cat/dog food since you can buy the bulk bags. I've also used the grooming service (which I will review at some point on that yelp page itself), but I did want to mention that they do an OK job, but its hit or miss depending on the person; one person groomed our miniature poodle excellent, and really knew what they were doing and did just a fantastic job, the other time someone just took electric clippers on a low cut setting to him and that was it... Between the service, selection, and prices, I'm a pretty regular shopper (having 7 aquariums, 1 hamster, 2 dogs, and 1 cat means you have to frequent pet stores). read more
