Once moved in, we had to fight to get the second parking spot we were promised, the roof leaks in 4 different areas, the ac has broke 5 times and their response to everything is they can't do anything without the owners permission. When my husband requested maintenance to address these problems, Jan had the audacity to write back and say "novel text messages are really my pet peeve"-- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I was blown away by the rudeness and the unprofessionalism. I have never ever ever dealt with people like this. The delayed responses, straight to voicemail calls, ignore the text messages.. the list goes on! Where I come from in California, we don't do business this way and we don't treat people this way. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT deal with these people. Absolutely awful, mentally and socially incompetent. If you choose HP Manor, and if the lockdown is ever lifted, you'll have ample opportunity for social interaction with other residents as there are a wide variety of activities occurring every day (in normal times), organized by the co-op President, Vice President, Secretary, et al, who are elected by the residents from among the residents. There is an inhouse nurse and an inhouse social worker, both of whom are OUTSTANDING. So, why only 3 stars? The problem is with the liaison person who deals with the residents on behalf of the management company. If you don't mind having legitimate complaints often swept under the rug instead of dealt with in a timely manner, having reasonable questions go unanswered, being treated disrespectfully, and/or being lied to, you might be happy living at Hazel Park Manor. If CSI had a liaison person who possessed the same degree of dedication to serve the residents as do our inhouse social worker and our inhouse wellness nurse, I'd have given Hazel Park Manor 5 stars instead of only 3. But when you have a problem, you want to deal with a problem-solver; not just someone who is there to collect a paycheck...and that appears to be what we have now.

Though I had been dreading what I considered a tiresome and tedious but necessary ordeal, Bill Adams eased my concerns and gave excellent counsel throughout the process. I am a picky and difficult client and in the past I had frustrated realtors by taking over a year to make a decision. Bill was able to really draw out what I was looking for and help me find hopefully my last home within a matter of weeks. I had been living with and taking care of my elderly mother and when she passed I had to find a place quickly. Home prices were very high at the time and my finances were tight. I called Adam's Realty and explained my situation. Bill offered to rent me a small home, as they own a number of rentals in the Royal Oak area, and suggested that I take my time looking. I decided to wait a year and a half for prices to come down. It truly gave me peace of mind during a difficult time and allowed me to move forward confidently. Finally, when I found the home I wanted, Bill was able to recommend excellent resources for the inspection process. They found a number of troubling issues and Bill impressed me with the depth of his knowledge as he counseled me through a problematic decision making process and helped find solutions. In the end he very professionally negotiated a great price with a stubbornly difficult seller. Bill not only has decades of experience in all aspects of real estate sales and management, he is a third generation realtor, having grown up with a father and grandfather who were also realtors. If you are looking for a permanent or temporary home or if you need consultation on any real estate issue, I cannot recommend Adams Realty highly enough.
