He had been relatively healthy up until this point, where five years later I had to scramble to find anyone has studied rabbits. Thankfully my fellow bunny mama suggested Northtown. They were quick to answer the phone, and when they heard that he was not doing well made a strong effort to get him in as soon as possible. It meant going in at 7pm at night, which worked with my day job hours. Thankfully there was a cancellation and we were able to be seen only a few minutes after arriving early for paperwork. The room is basic and clean, with a seat for the humans and a table for the pets. Hector is a feisty one, and the women were up for the challenge of scooping him out of his carrier for testing. Through temperature taking and weighing and observation he was handled gently. They ask a lot of questions to make sure that they give the proper care. We were given medication with thorough instructions and demonstration so that we would feel comfortable administering it on our own at home. The doctor welcomed all our questions and asked us to come back in two weeks to check his progress. Our appointment did have to get rescheduled to make sure that the bunny expert was on duty, and they had remembered our scheduling preferences so that they could hold the next available appointment until I called back in the morning. When we came back, waiting by the relaxing koi pond, the front desk let us check in from a distance so that we could relax after the car ride over. Again we were seen promptly and the team took great care to try to make things easy on him while still being thorough. They did decide to add a medicine for a separate issue and discussed what our options were before sending us off with another demonstration. Throughout this process, they have always been available and care about what is best for Hector. They even called the next day after his appointment to check up on him, though I was too busy working to answer. It is an immense relief to know that I now have a place that is affordable, reliable and genuinely cares about my boy. Two paws up!

We are new to New York so we relied on Yelp to find a good vet close to our apartment. He's received his annual exam here as well as vaccinations. They were very patient and willing to work with us on the vaccines because we had to space them out for budget reasons. They include a complimentary nail clipping with the annual exam, which was very handy because our baby is a monster when we try to do it. I had to request copies of medical records and receipts a couple times and they've always been very quick and accommodating. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable. They even called to check in after they got word we had to go to the puppy ER for a swallowed chicken bone. We are very relieved to have found such a good vet; we definitely plan on staying with them for the long term!

I really respected him and his practice. My pets were only seen by Brett a time or 2 up until Guy retired. Brett was always rude, condescending, and arrogant. He spoke to and treated his father and staff that way too. I witnessed it several times as an intern and also as a client. The majority of the staff is fantastic. After Guy retired and Brett took over, things definately changed. The facility updates are great, but Brett seems to have gotten even more arrogant and rude. Also, getting an appointment is like pulling teeth. I feel like they have some sort of kick back agreement with OP Vet Hospital because that's where they always refer me. That place costs a small fortune and Tillou knows it. He is most certainly NOT like his dad. And the new vet is not so friendly either. Which is a terrible shame. Although they are still fairly reasonable priced, their prices have increased. I'm saddened and disappointed at the decline of care and compassion at Tillou. I believe it may be time to move on. I'll be happy to pay a bit more if it means I and my pets will be treated with respect and dignity. My wife had prepaid, but either didn't hear or forgot to mention to me their policy where new patients NEED their paperwork present or, and I'm quoting, "You will be asked to leave." The kicker for me is that I was then told that there was no chance for rescheduling, and that I was effectively banned from their office. When I asked if that meant forever, she, seemingly with satisfaction, said yes, forever. I don't fault my wife at all for this, but do blame their ridiculous policy for distressing my wife, distressing our cat, and for taking our money with literally no services rendered aside from a bad attitude. The woman who had initially led me back to a room (before I was asked to leave) was rude and looked fairly upset and sort of angry that I didn't have the records on me despite my telling her that I was only the messenger. I called back after I had returned home, and was able to speak with the owner, who said there was nothing he could do, which, seeing as to how he is the owner of a small facility, is patently untrue. I know I'm not special, but the lack of any wiggle room, even after saying I didn't care about a refund and just wanted a new appointment, especially given the circumstances, is telling. Oh, and there is literally NO mention of this policy anywhere on their website. I will never recommend this vet to anyone, and what is really said is that i had heard good things about them, and was excited to have a new vet I thought I could trust. We have taken our dog Genny to this vet office since we adopted her in September 2023. Ever since…read morethen, we have experienced serious issues with this vet office, with the exception of one veterinarian, Dr. Stephanie Wishko. For some reason, it's this vets policy to take your pet out of the room for vaccines. My dog is a reactive breed, and she's very anxious around people she doesn't know. That anxiety only got worse after we started going to this vet. Over time, our dog has become more scared of people she doesn't know. Every time she goes to the vet, it gets worse. The worst incident we experienced was about 10 months ago. We took her in for a regular visit, and she needed a vaccination as well. As soon as we brought her into the room, the tech and the vet (not Dr. Wishko) brought her immediately to the back where we weren't allowed to go to give her the vaccine. All we could hear was her yelping and trying to scurry away and you could hear people in the back say "hold her tighter." When she came back in, they were practically dragging her on her leash back into the room with us, now muzzled. We were trying to talk to her the way we usually do to calm her down, telling her it's okay (not baby talking). They physically picked her up to go on the table (which CAN be lowered so she can practically walk on by the way) and when they picked her up she pooped herself, she was shaking so hard you could visibly see it from further away, drooling (she never drools unless she goes on a really long walk or is ran super hard.) Then the vet has the nerve to say "your dog is clearly anxious," as if we didn't know that. We told him we give her CBD from an all natural pet store and he abruptly interrupted us and said "no no CBD doesn't work. Only medication does." But we love our dog so we heard him out. He said he would give us samplers of 2 medications so we can try them (we were charged $10 for each) and that we would have to "keep coming back to try new ones", essentially paying $10 each time. She was traumatized. The vet was also a man that did this to her. She now has an issue around any new man, which is difficult for my fiancé when he wants to invite friends over. You may think it's not fair for me to attribute this behavior just to the vet, but that's what brings me to Dr. Wishko, the only vet that actually heard us and respected Genny's boundaries. She and the tech that was with her gave us a muzzle and left the room so we could put it on her. When they came back in, she spoke very softly to Genny, didn't push her boundaries. She lowered the table to her height, with the tech being extremely gentle with her too. Complimenting her when they finished something, petting her head softly too. To our surprise, Dr. Wishko was so gentle that she was able to remove Genny's muzzle to check her teeth better and EVEN GET A LICK from her. Genny NEVER does that to strangers. Well, Dr. Wishko told us she has a German Shepard at home (one of Genny's breeds) and that she understands that some dogs may take extra patience and care because they are naturally reactive. Her care was the only reason we brought her back a few weeks later for her second vaccine round. This week, we brought her in and a tech came and took her leash from us to bring Genny in the back room again for the vaccine. My fiancé asked if we could go into the check up room at least because we were able to before. They said no and that it was "against policy to do vaccines infront of parents." We complained to the receptionist on the way out and she said the same and that "she seemed to do fine today." We used CBD today so that vet from before was clearly wrong, and she was still shaking so aggressively petrified of what was going on. My dog, and everyone's pet for that matter, deserves to be loved and treated with respect, have their boundaries respected, when going to the vet. The vet can be really scary to any pet, but especially reactive breeds. We will be going elsewhere now. But if you do decide to go to Suburban South, ask for Dr. Wishko.

This is my new vet in the south towns. My cat had been acting strangely and hissing when he was…read morejumping on and off of things. I called in and they got me in a few hours later. The waiting room is very nice with a koi pond. They had my cat's name up on a marker board saying 'welcome' which was a cute touch. The nurse (vet tech?) and the vet were very nice and the examination room had a bench for me to sit and some amusing light reading for cat and dog owners. They carefully examined Mechka (the cat) and found he had popped out his knee cap. The vet was luckily able to pop it right back in and was unable to pop it back out so it was set. They spent a lot of time doing the examination and making sure all of his little legs and feet were bending, stretching, and working correctly. I really appreciated the thoroughness. They did a thorough basic exam as well, updated Mechka on his rabies shot, and suggested some preventative treatments for kitty teeth and gave me a plan with prices and treatments outlined to let me know how much they would be. They also prescribed an anti-inflammatory for the leg swelling due to the knee injury and advice for administering it. Very pleasant experience. You can tell the staff really care and love their jobs. Highly recommended!
