The pizza was okay because the dough made up for it, but something about the sauce was almost too herbal and spicy. It's been a minute since I've gone here, so maybe they've changed the recipe, but it was a very different take on your typical red sauce and unfortunately for me, I can't recommend purely for that reason. The waiter was so nice offered us a see when a table opened and brought us to go waters while we waited on our pie. They have a huge pizza oven that makes the crust so light but crispy. All the toppings were high quality and the pizza was huge! Plenty of leftover for the next days lunch. It is a small place so not a lot of seating. Nothing quite like a Peyton Pie, yet another place we will miss once we move to AL. We arrived just before the crowd at 6:00 PM on Friday. Plan ahead, or plan to sit next door as they get busy fast but, they turn the tables pretty fast as well. Our waitress Emily did a fine job all night during our meal. We started with garlic bread with marinara dipping sauce, and she had the consistently tasty wild farm greens salad, her favorite. We also had beer and wine. For our entree, she had the wings with AL white sauce appetizer and I had a greasy New Yorker pie. We alrays enjoy the fresh ingredients and the perfect execution of the brick oven. Did NOT live up to the 4.5 star rating. Upon opening up the box the pizza looked good, even liked the char on the crust, however there is absolutely no sauce on this pizza. No brightness, tang, or acidity. It just ends up tasting like charred cheesy bread with meat. Also even though the crust is charred on top the bottom of the pizza is still floppy and very chewy Overall not terrible pizza but I would probably never order from here again. read more

We love this place. The food is wonderful. We always get the garlic cheese bread, my son gets wings, and we get lot's of cheese pizza. The crust is amazing and the Gouda cheese just makes it so much better. I always get in trouble with red sauces like end up in the hospital trouble. But I can honestly tell you I have No idea what they do to their pizza sauce but it's fantastic and I have yet to have an issue with it and we've been coming for a few years now. One of the best parts is no indigestion, that's HUGE!! lol (If you know, you know)verything is absolutely amazing here. They might not look busy at times but take out wise is another story. This place is overpriced and arrogant. You cannot get toppings or a decent amount of cheese on their pizza. I've been twice and experienced the same bare crust pizza and arrogant staff. Fresh ingredients makes this place to die for. Crispy fall off the bone wings. Buttery crispy perfect pizza. There is no denying that their pizza is top notch, it's gourmet and superb. We get take out from Peyton's on Sundays (buy one get one 1/2 off day). I love their little pepperonis and the peppadew peppers are addicting. We have ordered from both locations and prefer Flowery Branch, more bang for your buck, the pizzas in Gainesville are smaller for some odd reason. The smally greasy pepperoni are by far the best part. Once you have small pepperonis, you can't go back! The wood burning oven gives the whole place a delicious smell. I knew an appetizer was a must! First time here, staff was very welcoming. Location is very quaint and plenty of parking around little flowery branch downtown. Was a little Smokey from the oven, I didn't mind it , just made me hungrier. They had a couple of salad options, my wife and I chose the Caesar salad and it was great. Next time we need to get the Alabama white sauce roasted wings. The pizza is the star of the show. Very flavorful sauce and great crust. Our server was very friendly and offered extra sauces. Forgot the name of the white vinaigrette sauce but it was phenomenal with the left over crust. This was a great pizza, especially the pepperdews gave each slice a sweet heat kick. read more
