Her office is clean, and the staff at St. Mary's Medical Group are helpful and very friendly. We have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be called into the exam room. He ordered a prolactin test (which cost $150) and said he'd call me on Monday with results and next steps. There was some delay over the weekend -- he didn't call personally but sent a letter referring me to a specialist. I was initially frustrated and even drafted a negative review. However, he ultimately sent in the prescription for tamoxifen I had requested. I'm now starting treatment and hopeful it will help prevent further progression while I address the root cause. He listened to my concerns, reviewed my labs, and provided the medication once the additional testing was complete. With Dr. Konakis, I had just that. She didn't tell me what to do, she worked with me to find a solution we were both comfortable with. I recently moved to Vegas and, as such, had to change doctors. The doctor I have here is okay, but he's nothing like she is. I miss her terribly. Two things I didn't like: the wait to see her could be weeks, unless something was really wrong (I.e. not just a check up). Not her fault, she's popular. Second, some of her office staff were frustrating. One of the receptionists is kind of mean, and it was difficult to get message to the doctor if you spoke with certain people. But those are really minor things, and completely worth dealing with.

I think the current additional fee is approximately $700. The benefit to me is that for every appointment, he spends approximately 20-30 minutes. Before I have gone in, he reviews his notes from our last appointment and makes sure everything is covered. I don't know if he is taking new patients now, but if he is, sign up. It is worth the additional expense.
