Made an appointment at this office with Dr Thuyvi Le and probably the worst experience ever. I was scheduled an appointment at 11am. Got there by 10:55 am and waited at the lobby an hour before I asked them why booking me at 11am and still wait an hour. The receptionist said the dr is still on lunch (11:55) so i was booked an appointment at the time she went to lunch...who does that.. and the dr ended coming in at 12:20.. pretty much waited an hour and 20 minutes and after my appointment, they sent me to this labs to take my blood work. While getting my blood work, the person asked to verify my phone number and birth date on the paper that the doctor's receptionist wrote down. Found out it was both wrong. Even fixing it at the moment, the labs wouldn't give me my lab results a few weeks later. read more

Took my mother to this doctor office couple weeks back and I'm so happy I finally found a doctor I trust that will take care of my mom. Her doctor was Dr. Le and I can't express how thankful I am to have someone that shows compassion to her patients. To be honest, I was skeptical due to the reviews on here but once I entered I got settled in with front desk and met my mom new primary doctor. Her doctors previously, never shown her that they care and simply prescribe her medicine and call it a day. Dr. Le referred my mom to get MRI and physical therapy that just proves to me that she wants the best care and want to find the root of why she is in pain. read more

Customer service is horrible and I feel like as a patient or caregiver you have to do their work for them since they are uncapable to do so. First time taking my grandpa here for his doctor's appointment and it's ridiculous. The last time my uncle took my grandpa here, they had to wait 2 hours in top of their APPOINTED TIME. This time, we had an appointment at 11:30am, but we showed up at 11:10am, hoping to get seen not earlier, but AT LEAST on time. However, this is the waiting game we are playing right now: showed up at 11:10am for a 11:30am appointment, and it is now 12:10pm and the wait continues. This is the first doctor's place I've ever, EVER been to where the patient needs to have their CHART NUMBER memorized every time they come. This is a doctor who sees the elderly all the time. I had to witness an old man scrambling for his wallet just to find a chart number they had given him who knows how long before. This chart number can be looked up by the receptionist almost instantly on the computer in front of her face. Why make old people do this? Being that it's my first time taking grandpa to be a doctor's appointment here, the rude receptionist (Vietnamese, in her 40s) asked me for his chart number (which, of course I didn't know). She said rudely, "I'm going to give you the chart # now, but make sure you remember this for next time". The worst: The 2-3 receptionists behind the counter speaks loudly about other patients' private information and experiences. They're venting about other rude patients to each other. We're in America right? What happened to HIPAA VIOLATIONS and protecting patients' privacy and confidentiality? They are broadcasting other patients' information from behind their counter. Final questions: Why am I doing your job as the receptionist for you? Why can't you pull up chart numbers for every patients by their names (which takes 5 seconds)? Honestly I don't know how they haven't been sued yet; this office needs to be shut down. The staff is INCREDIBLY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I took my mom here for her annual wellness check and she normally comes here, so here we are. Our appt is scheduled for 11:15am and they don't ask for insurance until 11:57am; then proceed to tell us they don't want to accept her insurance. I tell them they are in network, so they can't just refuse her. I told her we need to talk it over before we agree to see this doctor (that my mom apparently likes). Fast forward to 10 minutes later and my mom decides to just pay out of pocket. She tells the front desk that we'll go ahead with the appointment, and the front desk then shouts "OK THEN GET HERE AND PAY!" She does so, and we eventually get seen by the doctor. I wanted to sit in to make sure she mentioned all the things that concerned her that she talked to me about before (she gets doctor shy). I also wanted to make sure they weren't charging/ordering for anything that was unnecessary. I sat there silently for the most part, just chimed in whenever my mom wasn't sure with a question or didn't know how to answer. The doctor was very condescending towards the both of us and did not show any empathy. towards her concerns. How the hell are you in the medical field when you don't seem to care about your patients at all?? Not taking my mom here ever again. We would give this doctor 0 star if there's such an option. Our Mom has insisted in the past that Dr Nga is a very good doctor and based on her recommendation, we all followed her to see this doctor. Over the years, all of us have stopped seeing him. Our Mom's kidneys function has deteriorated due to taking all of the medications that he has prescribed over a long period of time. My sister (who's in the healthcare profession) finally interfered and took her to Stanford for treatments. My Mom is now on different medications and treatment routine, and her kidneys are slowly recovering. If my sister didn't take the proper course of actions, our Mom wouldn't be here with us today. This office is being managed badly: (1) Overbooking patients and let patients wait for long time (2) All of the office folks are so proud and disrespectful of patients (not sure proud of WHAT since they suck in their medical knowledge and in running this office). There used to be this one snooty and vain nurse that totally jerked us off. (3) Dr. Nga is probably not aware of how badly it is being run since he's only dealing with patients. But the front office is managed by his wife -- usually a leader's management style disseminates throughout the organization, so definitely everything points to her incapability in managing the office. In addition, the training that Dr. Nga received is from old school system in Vietnam. He could be outdated and might not be aware of the new medicines or treatments out there. He does not have the complete understanding of the drug side effects and drug interactions. We have many good caring doctors in the bay area, so why go to this office to get mediocre medical treatments and be humiliated at the same time? read more

This clinic is under new management and it is much more improved compared to before. My parents had Dr. Vy Le who is a new doctor here, for their last few visits. Dr. Vy Le is an incredible young talented doctor who is caring and took her time to listen and explain everything thoroughly. My parents have many good things to say about her. I never usually write Yelp reviews but I went to Dr. Pham growing up and I've even had a few stitches from him too. He's a great doctor with loads of experience. My mom has sciatica and it's been affecting her for years but Dr. Pham took really good care of her and frequently checked up on her as well. Although the receptionist isn't the most patient, it definitely doesn't affect Dr. Nga's capabilities and practice. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars! Do not go to this man calling himself a "doctor". My father went to him for a bad knee that has been bothering him for weeks. On the first visit he didn't even look at my dad's knee, rushed him out of the office and told him he needed blood work... interesting approach? My dad waits at the front desk for the blood work order and the doctor told him to go home and he will receive a call with instructions once the appointment is made. Fast forward a week and a half and my poor dad is still having knee pains, walking up and down the stairs gives him excruciating pain. As a second attempt, my dad sets up another appointment for his knee hoping to get an order for x-rays. The doctor glanced at his file and told him he doesn't want to take him on as a patient because he doesn't know how to take care of his own health and did not follow his instructions in getting blood work (the "instructions" that were NEVER given to him). I found out a month later and was furious. These people are incompetent, rude, and delusional. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! How you call yourself a doctor and neglect the well being of your patients is mind boggling to me. He treats his patients as money making cattle. When I went in today he laughed at my mom while she was explaining her symptoms and began to explain unrelated things to her like she was stupid. She had vertigo and he then explained what happens when one has vertigo, then I ask what causes it. He says "I just explained it please don't make me say it again" (he never said ANYTHING about the causes). I slammed my toe with a door and it was badly injured. My primary care Dr. Thang Tran was not in so they referred my to Dr. Nga Pham. At first when he walked in I was thinking he is so old does he have the latest knowledge on medicine. He cleansed my wound with a using a syringe filled with water, put some ointment on, and wrapped it with gauze. Dr. Pham then prescribed me some antibiotics and ibuprofen for my pain. He said that he can give me tetanus shot if I want and I wasn't sure how long ago was my last tetanus so I said no. I have sucky insurance so I had to pay $45 copay; cash patients pay $50. He said to come back the next day and he'll remove my gauze & apply new ones. I asked him if it's necessary since I have $45 copay and he said he will work something out. The next day I came & I didn't have to pay copay. He repeated the procedures and placed new gauze & prescribed me ointment & wash so I can replace the bandage myself. He said my insurance didn't cover for such 2nd visit that soon since they only allow 1/wk but since I was in pain he asked me to come in again to check up on me. After I got home from the 1st visit I was skeptical & searched online to see what kind of treatment other ppl get after their toes get injured. They got treatment similar to mine, and one mentioned that a hole can be drilled into the toe to get blood out & you won't get bruised toe for too long. During my 2nd visit he mentioned that he didn't see a lot of blood trapped under my toe or else he would put a hole in it to drain it out ( I didn't ask him about it). I don't know if that is common knowledge that most docs know but I was impressed. So I give him stars for not making me pay for my 2nd visit & he seems very knowledgeable about the treatment. I hate to write bad reviews but here goes. Called in to ask and made sure that my insurance would cover me. I asked again just to make sure and the lady told me it is covered under VHP. After making sure that it absolutely would cover me, then I made an appt to come in today. My appt was at 1045am so I came in early around 10:25am. Sat and waited and was called in at 11am. Right after when I sat down and told her what I needed to do and she said it would not be covered and that I needed to pay money for it. What? What? I double checked with the receptionist lady on the phone and she said it's covered. If I knew it wasn't covered I wouldn't have made the appt to come in. I did the same exam from a previous doctor and it was covered. I didn't want to go back to the previous doctor because it was a bit of a drive so I decided to try this one since it was close to home. If they had told me that it wasn't covered, then I wouldn't mind making the drive to my previous doctor since it would be 100% covered. The lady was very rude and try to blame me for not wanting to pay for the service. Why should I pay for it if I was told that it would be covered? Very very bad service. I told her the lady on the phone said it was covered and she tried to make an excuse and said that the lady on the phone was new and didn't know what she was talking about. Right? That lady works with you and if she didn't know the answer she should ask someone that knows instead of saying that it would be covered just to lure someone to come in and make them pay for it. After a long argument they finally admit that it was their fault. I hate when someone try to blame on you when they know it was their fault. Do not go to this doctor. Zero stars if possible. Worst Doctor ever. My mom went here for 2 years and she had sciatica. He refused to refer her to physical therapy or a foot specialist when she had foot pain. He gave her pain medication and steroids recklessly and wanted $$$$ because she will have to come back for her nerve pain. She did not take any pain medication and suffered a whole 9 months with the pains radiating down her legs. The front desk are lazy people who will not help or call to set up referrals. Do not go here! He will try to keep you sick, so he can treat you with his BS medicines which are all wrong, while he knows exactly who he should be referring you to. Went to this MD, he is very old. I went into the exam room with my sister. He barely examined my sister. Gave her some basic common over-the-counter stuff, and called it a done deal. It was such a waste of time and $50 no insurance cash patient. He does NOT seem to genuinely care about the welfare of his patients, nor try to understand their situation and what benefit and won't benefit them. Lesson learned, never going back to him again.
