I've been growing out my real nails with gel and powder acrylic refills for about 2 years. I kept removing them and so that's why it took so long for my nails to grow. But now they're the perfect length but weak as hell. My friend recommended the SNS treatment and what a game changer. My nail technician was amazing! They first had to remove my powder and that took a while since the layers were thick. It took maybe 4 dips in nail polish remover to peel it all off. Then as my nail technician was filing them, one nail broke! It's not bad but you can definitely tell it's too short. I opted to leave it as is because it'll grow back. I didn't want to add a fake tip. SNS is powder but it's much finer than the acrylic powder. It feels like flour. They dip your fingers in the powder and flick your finger to get rid of the excess. Imagine my face when they dipped my fingers in the powder! It's like magic. I know I've referred to the acrylic powder as nail cocaine in my other reviews as a joke before but SNS is actually nail cocaine. Even the colour is a powder they dip your fingers into! They then apply a top coat. They dip your fingers maybe 2 times in the SNS powder and then 3 times for the colour powder depending on how smoothly it sticks. The nail polish coat is applied after every dip. You then get everything smoothed out with their drill machine. The end feeling is so great. It feels light and airy but your nails are strong! It's also not thick like the gel or acrylic powder. It cost me $50 with taxes and tip first time around because they had to remove my acrylic but next time it should be $35. The only con is that the SNS colours aren't as nice as the regular nail polish colours. But I can overlook that since it'll make my real nails much stronger

I got a shellac manicure and the manicurist clipped off all my cuticles to the point where it was slightly painful. I was satisfied with the colour and style of my nails and left satisfied. However, only two days later, my manicure began to chip (shellac manicures usually remain fully intact for at least a week). Disappointed, I returned and asked the salon to fix the manicure. They then proceeded to paint two of the chipped nails the wrong colour by accident, despite the fact that I told them the colour I had gotten done only two days before. Thankfully, they didn't charge me for the service, As of today, less than a week after the initial manicure, all of my nails are chipped and look worse than before I got them re-done. Despite the staff being very friendly, I won't be returning due to the poor quality of the manicure.

By dipping your feet into one of these tanks for 15 minutes before your pedicure, you essentially lose a good deal of dead skin. That's right, they eat it right off of you. I didn't try it this time but I'm curious and saw one brave soul squirm for the first 5 minutes of the procedure then she settled in with a magazine. My pedicure ($35) included a workout for my feet. Be prepared for a tough (lots of punching and slapping) foot and lower leg massage and a massaging chair. In and out in a half hour, it was worth the price and I'd go back.

Here's the low-down:…read more-the place is small but clean and the tools are all sanitized and individually sealed for one-time use before being sterilized again. The pedi tubs have plastic tub sealers, too. Very hygienic and clean. -there are tons of different polishes to choose from; however, they are all scattered about the salon and not all kept together. Polish displays are on different walls and tons of individual bottles were placed on every counter surface throughout the place. -the pedi chair was great, with its massage features. (I love that!). -my pedi tech was quiet and didn't speak at all. -the pedi itself was fine if but perfunctory. Minimal leg massage with a warming cream. Zero leg massage with an exfoliating lotion (perhaps they don't do that here in Montreal. I'm used to a citrus exfoliating massage in Vancouver and Seattle salons). The tech used a pumice on my heels and the balls of my feet. Usually I'm ticklish and squeamish during this process but this part of the pedi lasted just a few minutes - so fast! - so it didn't bother me at all. Meanwhile, that night when I checked my feet, my heels were still calloused with rough skin, so the tech didn't really do a thorough job at all in this area. (The entire pedi was over really fast). -good job doing my cuticles and nails, and nice polish job, too (but they didn't put on a top coat). -one thing I disliked: when drying my toe polish, they sat me by the front door, with my toes in a portable machine to dry them. It was freezing cold out, a wintery and stormy day, and every time the front door was open (which was frequently, as people came and went), a huge draft came in, right on me. I was freezing. (There was nowhere else for me to go, as I waited for my toes to dry). Not the best set-up. All in all, if one wants a basic and quick pedi, this is a fine salon to go to. I called to inquire about color changing nail polish and was told that they did have it available. I asked the price of the refill and if the color changing nail polish was included and was told it was. When I looked at the colors - I asked once again - if it was included - and was told again that it was. When I finally decided on a color - I asked if it was included with the refill and was told it was ! Once it was time to apply the polish - I asked to pay (as I always do at other salons) and was told not until it was finished (which seemed odd) Now I know why !! I was shocked when my bill was a whopping $30 (instead of $20) - I asked why and was told because the polish is extra !! I explained that I had asked at least 3 times and was told it was included. I could not understand why - NOT once did they say that there was an extra charge !! They did not care - they wanted $30 and did not care at all about customer satisfaction ! No wonder they did not want me to pay before the polish was applied - I would NOT have used this polish if I knew they were going to charge $10 for it !! Now I realize that this was a scam from the start !! I am sure it will not be too long before I pass this store and see the brown papers on the windows - and with the way they acted today - they deserve it !!
