Teran was great with communication prior to the shoot, helping us with location and time suggestions. Our dog gets nervous around new people and usually hides from them at first but he warmed up to Teran very quickly. As most puppies do, our puppy has a short attention span but they were able to get some incredible shots. We had a great pleasure working with Teran in one of his fall neighborhood photo-shoots in late October. Inspired by Portland's poetic fall color, it was a spontaneous decision for us to try out some professional photography to capture our dog Luna's pawsonality. The supposedly 40-minute photo-shoot session turned out to be a 2-hour adventure of fun, agility, training/learning and discoveries for us and for Luna. If you are looking for a professional photographer who has creative vision and great craftsmanship, who loves dogs and knows how to make the dogs shine. Teran is the one. Before working with Teran, I had reviewed quite a few pet photographers on Instagram and have decided to follow Teran's work. Teran's photography style is truthful to his leading characters, the dogs. He captures the beauty of his subjects' emotions, energy, living-in-the-moment quality, relationships with their humans and love of nature. During our entire working process from the pre-shoot, shooting to the post selection/delivery, Teran was extremely understanding, communicative, prepared, on time. During the shoot, he and Luna (and us) experimented different actions, settings, lighting and moods. I could tell Luna had such a great time to 'play' with Teran and to be her goofy, happy and athletic self in front of his camera. It was one of the highlights for Luna's adventure in 2018! I can't say enough good things about Teran and Phido Photography! My two good boys, Jack and Miller, try to be the best boys they can be - but they get nervous around strangers and dont love having cameras on them. Teran (and his pockets filled with cheese sticks) turned them into supermodels within minutes! He was patient and gentle with them, and never tried to force them into cooperating just to get a shot - he worked with them to capture not only the most amazing photos, but also each of their personalities. After the shoot, I had a large online gallery to select from in a much shorter time frame than I anticipated, and the edited photos I ordered have all been incredible. Teran's level of professionalism and creativity was beyond our expectations! He did an excellent job capturing the personalities of our two dogs. One of our dogs is silly and hyper. The other is shy and uneasy around cameras. He was able to identify what each dog needed to feel comfortable so he could get the perfect shot. The only challenge was narrowing down the proofs to pick our favorites. Teran provided excellent communication, tips to prepare for the shoot, and stunning photos. I was impressed with Teran's photography skills the second I saw his Instagram page after a friend told me about Phido Phototgraphy. He was quick to get back to me when I reached out and even better he was available for a photo shoot within a few weeks of me calling! I had assumed he would be booked solid. Teran was easy to work from our first phone calls discussing shoot sites to getting me proofs from the shoot in a timely manner. The day of the shoot he was punctual and motivated. Although it was freezing cold and we were losing light fast, he stayed positive, focused, and determined to get great shots. His patience was displayed quickly when one of my pups essentially threw a temper tantrum at the first shoot location and wanted nothing to do with what was going on-lol. Teran stayed on task and keep working with my other pup while I tried to get Riley to cooperate. Right when I was expecting Teran to say that's all we can get for today due to the setting sun, he said let's book it up to Timberline and try for some sunset shots. My heart soared!!!! My grumpy ol' man, Riley, was going to get another shot at being the photogenic sweet boy he really is! I'm so glad we went up the mountain, the pictures in the snow are the best of the day and both of my boys were having a blast!!!!!!! Although, Teran was freezing cold he stayed committed and determined to get the best shoots he could, and I appreciate him so much for doing so!!!! So overall, I'd highly recommend a photo shoot with Teran & Phido Photography. You won't be disappointed! We had an incredible experience with Teran of Phido Photography! As the human of a sometimes anxious rescue dog, I pestered poor Teran with questions about the strategies he would use to help Sweetie feel comfortable during her shoot. I was impressed that, even before I had booked him, he was so patient and thorough in answering me and this continued on throughout my experience with him. Teran is also super organized, doing everything from sending (gorgeous!) locations for me to pick from, scouting the specific spot ahead of time, bringing toys and treats to entertain Sweetie, and more. He was flexible with the weather, which was a welcome relief for my four-legged southern belle who doesn't appreciate the rain. Most importantly Teran has a genuine love for animals which comes through in his interactions and photographs and put us both at ease. The quality of the photographs are superb and Teran has created the most beautiful keepsakes of my girl I could've ever hoped for! I "won" a photo session with Teran @ Phido Photography for raising money for the Oregon Humane Society's annual Doggie Dash event. (Teran was generous enough to donate his services to the cause.) I was confident going into it that my yellow lab Buddy was a competent model because I've taken over ten zillion pictures of him in his relatively young life, but he really blew me away with how he behaved during the Phido shoot out along the Columbia River Gorge. Teran really brought out the best in him, got him to do all sorts of fun poses and actions, and went WAY beyond the extra mile to get shots that could have easily destroyed all of his very expensive equipment. THAT'S dedication! He even scouted our location early on the day of, and he decided the weather wasn't going to cooperate so we decided together to post pone. That turned out to be a great decision, and on the eventual day of the shoot he even discovered an additional location on the fly and squeezed it into the session. Teran's love for, and ease with, our canine friends is evident, and I would encourage anybody considering whether or not a professional pet photo shoot is "worth it" to give Phido Photography a try. Even though I "won" the photo shoot, I did pay for an upgraded session to include more time and multiple locations. 100% worth it. read more

My husband and I adopted a new puppy and wanted to capture her in her puppyhood. Teran worked miracles to get great shots of her despite her rambunctiousness and inability to listen to any of our commands. He had all sorts of tricks to get her to sit still long enough to get a great picture or to get great action shots. The only downside--too many amazing pictures to choose from! I won a session with Phido Photography as part of a fundraising effort for the Oregon Humane Society's Doggie Dash. I checked out Teran's work before scheduling the shoot for my dog Duke and immediately decided I wanted to upgrade my session in order to have an extended shoot at a location of my choosing. The end result was so amazing that I scheduled a shoot for another of my dogs out at Beacon Rock. I had no idea the amount of work that goes into creating these amazing photographs. The lengths that Teran goes to in order to get a perfect shot are incredible. It was in the low 50's last weekend (at sunset) and he was knee deep in a lake in order to get the last few pictures of my dog Oliver. Both dogs are rescues and can be funny around strangers but Teran made both of them feel at ease which helped to create such beautiful pictures. I highly recommend Phido Photography! read more

If you're looking for an amazing pet photographer, look no further! I was completely satisfied with the entire process. I found Phido Photography through a local animal shelter because he volunteers his services (big win in my book!) After getting in contact we set a date and he provided me all kinds of location ideas. He even scouted The Gorge after the wildfire, because that was one of my choices. I decided on Hoyt Arboretum due to the fall colors and it did not disappoint. The weather was not cooperating that weekend and Teran kept in close contact via email and text in case we needed to reschedule. Teran got to the site early to check out the conditions and scout areas. We decided to go for it, and the pictures turned out AMAZING! We had two dogs photographed, which I thought might be challenging, but Teran did an exceptional job. I met Teran at a pet expo and couldn't wait to schedule an appointment. Teran was fantastic asking me questions about my dog to get a sense of her personality and what location would be best suited for her. The day of the shoot, he was right on time and had scouted out some great locations. He did such an amazing job of capturing my 11 year old dachshund's quirky personality on film. Bless him for being patient and spending most of the time laying flat on the ground to get the right perspective when she only is 12" off the ground. You can see that he truly loves his job of photographing pooches. When I received the link to the gallery to choose my photos for purchase, I couldn't believe how amazing each one was. I am having a hard time picking which photos to buy. I don't want to think about my dog growing older and time together running out, but I can safely say that these pictures are a treasure that I will hold onto. Teran truly has a gift.
