I rented the picnic shelter for the day for a birthday party and it was only $40. That is much cheaper than other parks in the area. The picnic tables are a little worn but it's a nice size area. And the picnic shelter is right next to the bathroom and play area. It's in a really convenient spot. I was a little worried about traffic sounds. You can hear if a car is noisy but you don't really hear just the normal traffic. It is a nice, pleasant area.

Robins were out foraging in the grass of the soccer fields and a thin haze of wildfire smoke helped block out some of the sun's rays. A couple of the areas of the park were taped off for work to be done without interruption. Parking along the soccer fields was abundant. A few other vehicles/groups came and went while I was here including dog walkers/owners and a police car. Around the perimeter of the soccer fields was a paved walking path with faded painted arrows denoting which direction to travel. Signs along the path communicated the distance of two laps was approximately one mile.

Then we rank them...lol The slides at this playground do not require skilled climbing ability to get to and go down. The way they designed the playground makes it so a 3/4 year old can play with a 8 year old very well. Plenty of swings, and other small things for them to play on as well. This park has bathrooms, a gazebo with picnic tables for birthday parties or w/e and plenty of parking. You can also walk across street and there is a cliff view for pictures. This makes it a good spot for people visiting Washington. This is also the park a lot of people go to on the fourth of July to watch fireworks.

We encountered a group of (unfriendly) young women in hoop skirts, a photo shoot where a Dad was slowly twirling his daughter the bride while a photographer captured the moment (so sweet!), interesting sculptures, and volunteers tidying garden beds, who chatted with my Mom as though they had been friends forever. I've found that people have varied reactions when encountering a person with dementia; I'm always grateful when people spend a few minutes chatting with my Mom. Across the street is a great overlook park with picnic tables and benches that all had great views over the harbor.

My favorite part of this park is the glacial erratic that's just to the side of the skate park. Though not as mighty as the Lake Stevens erratic, this one is pretty darn impressive. Parking is plentiful and there's a porta-john on site for that need.

I found an abundance of different wildlife out and about at Lynndale Park this morning, arrived…read moreabout 7:07 a.m. on Thursday 25 May 2023, and the sun was shining and warm. After missing one of the parking areas, I turned up the road by a sign along the street for the park. Just up the road and to the right is a small parking area abutting a paved area with basketball hoops and benches, a small red restroom building, a skate park, and a playground. Mine was the only car in the parking lot both when I arrived and when I left. Up the hills by the skate park is a trail into the woods. On a stump just in the trees was a chickaree (North American red squirrel). In addition to the first red squirrel, I heard others calling from the trees as I walked. The trees along the trails are tall and provided protection from the rays of the sun. Shade cast on the ground was cool. Along the trails were different flowers in bloom and ripening salmonberries. In my approximately half an hour at the park, I encountered vocal sparrows, a rufous-sided towhee, a bunny rabbit, a gray squirrel, and foraging woodpeckers. All around an enjoyable morning adventure.

Additionally, there are two off leashed fenced arenas. One for big dogs and the other for little dogs. Pretty good boundaries for humans also. The park itself is well kept and maintained on a very good schedule. The people who go to the park are 85% really good folks. The other 15% of the people are rude and racist. Still, that doesn't change that the VENUE is a NICE ONE.

I arrived at Esperance Park this…read moreevening, Wednesday 21 June 2023, at about 7:50 p.m. I had not been to the park before, so I started walking the gravel path past the off-leash dog areas and a large grassy area. As the gravel path neared some tall trees I noticed a dirt path into the woods. Following the path into the woods I heard different birds calling. Then I spotted a neon green structure with steps and a ramp and I went closer to figure out what it was. It was a large zipline swing, the largest I have encountered in a park thus far. I tried it out and found I got traveling pretty quick. A fun treat tucked in the wooded area of the park. Parking was abundant and the driving entrance easy to find. Signs with the park name were located both at the driving entrance and on a fence on the opposite side of the park. In addition to the aforementioned features, there was a large playground, grass baseball field, and a basketball hoop area with a fence and smooth ground.

Go To A Game! You will thank me! Spoiler Alert: This is a happy post. Last Christmas I purchased a five-game package for our family with the AquaSox. Yesterday was the first game we could attend; we were out of town for the first one. I knew this. I had planned on stopping by to pick up the tickets...every intention I might add... And yet I completely forgot. So, here we were at around 3:30 yesterday with no tickets. I emailed Chad, the account manager assigned to me with absolutely no assumption of actually getting the tickets in time for the game. Mind you, these are not expensive tickets. We are not sponsors or anyone important. I believe we would refer to this as a "Hail Mary" move but I had to try. Approximately seven minutes after I sent the email, on a Saturday, on game day, Chad responded. Not only did he respond, BUT HE ALSO HANDLED MY PROBLEM! Tickets were waiting for us, along with the hats and such, that came with the package. HOW COOL IS THAT? Chad, darling, you, and the AquaSox, are our heroes!
