After missing one of the parking areas, I turned up the road by a sign along the street for the park. Just up the road and to the right is a small parking area abutting a paved area with basketball hoops and benches, a small red restroom building, a skate park, and a playground. Mine was the only car in the parking lot both when I arrived and when I left. Up the hills by the skate park is a trail into the woods. On a stump just in the trees was a chickaree (North American red squirrel). In addition to the first red squirrel, I heard others calling from the trees as I walked. The trees along the trails are tall and provided protection from the rays of the sun. Shade cast on the ground was cool. Along the trails were different flowers in bloom and ripening salmonberries. In my approximately half an hour at the park, I encountered vocal sparrows, a rufous-sided towhee, a bunny rabbit, a gray squirrel, and foraging woodpeckers. All around an enjoyable morning adventure.

I personally miss the older park because the new baseball field takes up so much wasted space and is rarely used to its full extent. The center of the grass field and some other parts fill up with tons of muddy puddles whenever it rains. They take forever to dry up because the trees around the park cast shadows for the majority of the day if it's even sunny. I've slipped and fell on the grass before because it can get slippery, especially when getting pulled by a dog on leash. The best part about the renovated park for me is there's multiple garbage cans and dog bag stations throughout the park. I think there used to be only one trash can in the eastern half of the park. The cement walking path around the park is good for taking laps around the park.

There's a little trail around the playground and playfield, and public bathrooms. On the basketball court there are also ping pong tables. Beside the court is stadium seating/steps built in.

I love that they added the swim beach -- it's such a perfect touch! It's great for paddle boarding and all kinds of summer adventures. I also love coming down here in the fall to read a book or journal on those gloomy days. When I want a long walk and some fresh air, this is one of my favorite places to go. The scenery is beautiful, and you can easily spend a good amount of time just walking around and enjoying the water. My only complaint is that I wish there was more parking. Other than that, it's one of my favorite spots to get outside less than 10m from my house

I often bring food from Buddha Brothas and eat with my family and the park benches are mostly clean. What I appreciate about Log Boom is that there is usually a Lake Forest park patrol car parked in the parking lot in case there is an accident. I have gone to other parks and law enforcement is non existent. I once saw a forklift with keys by the park and let a dispatcher know. I'm very pleased by this park. Great views, convenient, and perfect for all ages.

The wetland boardwalk is one of my favorites, and a bit nostalgic as I grew up in the south surrounded by marshes. Unfortunately, safety is now a concern being that there have been encampments nestled into the corners of the boardwalk we've stumbled into; we quietly but quickly walked back towards the entrance. Overall, North Creek Park is a nice and very clean park for families to enjoy.

The wooden walkway on the wetlands is what makes this park unique. In a couple spots, the boardwalk does sway a bit and has small slopes that end in little puddles of water on the path (which I thought was awesome but I can see some people not liking this), but for the most part it's dry, flat, and stable for pedestrians on foot. It's not a huge park, but I think we spent at least 45 minutes exploring it. When we got to the end of the boardwalk, it turned into a gravel road that seemed to lead up to a small farm or something and a road... so we had to turn around to get back to where we started. It is not a loop. That's my only complaint. It's a simple walk with maybe not the most spectacular, but still pleasant views. The tall grass in the fields remind me of the Midwest (where I'm originally from), so it captures my heart.

Yost Park first came on my radar as a kid when I went to the day summer camps at the Anderson…read moreCenter in Edmonds. They would walk us places for adventures during the week and Yost Park and Pool were one of the places we got to adventure. I enjoyed it then and still enjoy it now over two decades later. The pool itself is well built to be child friendly. It is in a stout 'L' shape with 25 yards in shallow to mid-depth waters. Very nice when one is young. The water as I remember it is cold, not a bad thing just a shock to the system to those who were not accustomed to it. Above the pool there are tennis courts, picnic tables, and a playground. There is also a sloped grassy area around the pool, but not one to play sports on really. I most recently visited Yost Park on Wednesday the 8th of July 2020 with my mom. Steep trails can freak her out a bit. One of the nice things about the trail system at Yost is that railings are provided in areas where the trail is steeper. Helpful in keeping one's balance and providing support while going up or down a hill. Signage along the trails provide warnings to heed especially when it is rainy and the trails can be slick as well as historical information about the park. We saw a chipmunk, a variety of birds, squirrels, and different plants on our visit last Wednesday. If driving here, make sure to check under your car before you leave so as to not run over and kill any critters who might be under it. I found a gray squirrel exploring under my car when my mom and I went to leave. Happy to wait for the little critter to continue on its way before driving off so it can live. Fun place to bond with the wildlife!

The park itself is great for exercise as several of the trails have good incline so you can get a bit of a workout. I stopped short of giving 5 stars because I have encountered screaming groups of children several times who trample the vegetation off-trail and in the dry creek bed and it is very annoying that the adults supervising them allow this. There are covered basketball hoops. There is a playground with plenty of things to climb on for the kids. There is a smaller playground set for tiny kids. There are plenty of swings. Maybe the only dog fall is that they don't have a restroom with running water and a toilet, but they do have a porta potty.

It evens looks like the same…read morerail on the ramp between the lower playground area and upper field area as when I attended Sunset Elementary School here from 1997 to 2004. The paint is slowly chipping away. In 2004 I graduated from Sunset Elementary School, a little while after I graduated it was announced the school would close due to budget cuts. The City of Shoreline tore the school down and made Sunset School Park in its place to preserve the land in the case that a new school needs to be built here in the future. Even if a new school is built here it will not be identical to the one that preceded it. Each building and each structure has an identity of its own. I have come here a few times since the school was torn down to walk around and reminisce about where things used to be located and where different activities took place (such as the Walk-a-thon and soccer practice on the field above the area with the playground). The playground has been upgraded since I attended the school, though it was also upgraded when I attended the school. There are two large field areas (one on the upper level and one on the lower level), a sheltered play area, and a large community garden in addition to the playground and a tiny patch of wooded play area. While attending elementary school I was playing tag with some classmates and said "bite me" to one of the boys who decided to take the idiom literally instead of figuratively as I meant it and bit me without my consent... ahhh the physical assaults of elementary school. Still love the trees though, trees this big and old are an extreme rarity at urban schools these days. Means a lot to me that they have chosen to keep them around. The park can get a bit busy, something to keep in mind if you are looking for a quiet secluded place to walk, play, or relax. Beautiful park and location.

I like to get pictures of the places I visit and unfortunately, there are NOT any charging stations or outlets here. Park is big. there is a play ground, swing set, walking track, large field, and a covered area with tables & benches. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean considering this is a public park. Parking lot is really small. Great place to hang with the kiddos or host a party. Kids will be good and tired at the end of the day.

The park has two baseball diamonds... a huge grassy area to play in...a big area with slides, and monkey bars...The park also has a smaller skate area, which is popular with the boarders in the area... For the adults there is a running area around the park, which is probably a 1/2 mile around i would guess...also there is tables for a picnic...or a great place for a birthday party...and the area is covered...great for kids.... well kept park..close by...and it gets my little one out and keeps my stress down...so 5 stars!!!!
