Very knowledgeable, quick and honest service. My truck had a vibration noticeable at higher speeds. I took it the place I bought my tires to have the balance checked. It still had a vibration, so I thought it might be something else causing it. I replaced the bearings, rotors, and pads. It was still bad. I can't rate the quality of service here because we never got past that. I bought a new Bronco from Rainbow Imports in Covington. They had it lifted for me with bigger tires. They told me to bring it to Phil Meraux for an alignment and they would pay for it. It was part of the cost of purchasing the vehicle. I brought it to Phil Meraux's a few minutes ago and told them the above. The lady waiting on me told me that normally the dealer does not pay for it. She said that no one from Rainbow contacted them and someone is lying to me. She said that unless I have that in writing, that I was paying for it. She walked out of the room. I felt like she was accusing me of trying to get a free service. I really have no clue why she reacted the way she did. A young man had already taken my name and number and my keys to move the car around. I went out and asked him for my keys back because I was leaving since the lady inside said that someone at Rainbow was lying to me and didn't seem at all interested in helping me. The young man flipped me off, said f**k you, and accused me of calling his mom a liar. I was just shocked by all of this behavior. A good customer service policy would be to say, "We do a lot of business with Rainbow Imports, let's call them and get this straightened out", or "Here's the phone, why don't you call them and get this straightened out. " Maybe they could have suggested that there was some miscommunication or something. Liar is a bit strong. Flipping me off, cursing me, etc. is just unbelievable. A few minutes after I left, Melissa, the lady who called the people at Rainbow liars called me and apologized. I accepted her apology but told her that I wouldn't be back. She handled it well. Because I could not pay for a new set of tires for my wife's Cadillac, I used a Goodyear credit care at Goodyear, and paid over time . yesterday I brought the car for a oil change and to have the tires rotated, thinking I would have to pay for the tire rotation , because I did not purchase them there . They did not charge me for the service . I am thankful, and I will always remember the kindness they showed me . Give this business a 15 out of 10 . I was driving from Alabama to Texas and my back rear tire showed really low. Wasn't sure if I'd picked up a nail or what the issue was but was concerned as driving alone and had 7 hours to go. I stopped at tire place just a few blocks away on same side of the road and there were no cars at all in the bays and none in the parking lot. One employee on property. I asked if my tire could be checked and he started typing into computer asking me for phone, address, email, etc. Said it had to be entered first "for insurance purposes". I thanked him for his time and drove to Phil Meraux who had many cars in parking lot, all chairs in waiting room filled, all bays filled and busy busy. I explained to the helpful attendant what the problem was and she simply said, "I'll need your keys". I waited about 25 minutes and they inspected my tires thoroughly for leaks, etc, balanced air pressure etc and told me there were no leaks and I should be good to go. I asked what I owed and she said, "nothing" as you had no problems. Just needed to add some air. He checked for leaks and you don't have a leak. They never asked my name and I almost begged her to take money due to the time they spent checking my car. If it wasn't 7 hours away I'd use this place exclusively to take care of my car service. Just had my last encounter with Pat Mereaux. Had alignment done and had to have vehicle re-aligned elsewhere. Refused to refund my money. Not so much bothered by the refusal as the condescending manner in which it was refused. Need a set of 20 inch tires right now and Mereaux will never again get a penny of mine. read more

I've been going here for decades. I recently went in needing a new set of run flat tires. He had two brands to offer. One brand was very expensive and he had them in stock. The other brand was about half the price but he didn't have them in stock. I was pressed for time and really didn't want to pay for the high priced tires. He basically had me over a barrel due to my time constraints but he went out of his way to drive to Slidell to pick up the less expensive brand, bring them back and put them on my car within my tight timeframe. I was a mid day drop in customer with a front end vibration on a Ram 3500 dually. Had two other tire stores in the Abita Springs area balance the tires, couldn't fix the problem. Phil Meraux fixed it the first time - had the right equipment to balance the large tires. I also asked them to change the oil after the balance was complete, they got right on it with no impact to the other customers waiting for other repairs. Today, at my regular service appointment, Chevrolet told me that I had ran over a nail and it was not repairable.
