Darragh came back in and I decided I'd wait until the New Year to decide what I could do then.

I saw Dr. Lashkari on Monday afternoon to check out one of my toes. He and the staff were friendly,…read moreand he seemed pragmatic and informative with diagnosing and then determining treatment as necessary. He took a sample of the toenail for testing (fungal, mold, yeast, or injury) and said the results should come back by Wednesday. I didn't hear back from him on Wednesday so I called the office on Thursday and left a message. I called back later in the afternoon and spoke to the front desk staff and was told my test results were in, but they couldn't review the results with me (the doctor had to do that) and he is only in-office Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I missed the doctor's call on Friday before 1pm (he left a voicemail indicating I should call back to review the results and next steps) and called back 20 minutes later only to be taken to the voicemail again. I tried calling again at 1:30pm a couple of times and eventually got through to the front office. This time they were willing to give me the results (why now?), but the doctor was no longer in the office and they wouldn't have him contact me. They said they would let him know on Monday that I had called and hopefully he'd get back to me then. Monday is a holiday, so I'm definitely not confident that I'll get results back without having to seek them myself.

This review is LONG overdue, but here I am! And I'm about this surgeon!…read more Dr. Cha did my ankle surgery in 2024 after a soccer injury left me with multiple ruptured ligaments, and I truly could not have had a better experience. From the beginning, I felt like I was diagnosed properly and knew exactly what needed to be done. The surgery went incredibly well, my recovery was much faster than I expected, and anytime I had a question or concern, he addressed it directly and honestly. His staff is also amazing and made the entire process so much easier. Also, kind of a weird thing to include in a review, but I get compliments on my scar ALL the time. It is barely noticeable, which I feel like deserves some recognition considering he had to put my ankle back together. Lol! As for Dr. Cha himself, if you're looking for warm and fuzzy, that may not exactly be the description. He has a very dry personality and sense of humor, which I personally found hilarious. I thought his personality was great! But more importantly, I found him to be excellent and knowledgeable surgeon! I trusted him completely (which says a lot since typically pretty skeptical of just about everyone.) And because apparently ankle surgery wasn't enough excitement, while I was there I also had him make me custom orthotics. Nothing makes you feel 800yo quite like being excited about orthotics, but I have to admit they have been LIFE CHANGING. I've recommended Dr. Cha to basically everyone I know who has a foot or ankle issue, and I'll continue to. Hopefully I never need another ankle surgery, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him. :)

Back in 2023 I felt a pop in my foot followed by progressive foot and calf pain. I first visited…read morethis provider in 2024 with these issues. After a calf MRI and X-rays with no visible issues and a walking test, this provider determined that I could have possible blood flow or lower back/spinal disc issues, both of which I have never had or dealt with in my entire life and recommended I get both checked. After driving hours across town for a blood flow test that came back normal, I nixed seeking out a back doctor and decided to go to a different foot doctor, for foot pain, after not getting any diagnosis from this provider. Within the next year, I did 2 rounds of physical therapy, both of which only helped for a few months, with the pain returning shortly after the PT ended. In September 2025 the pain was becoming increasingly worse and I decided to try custom orthotics since my arch was now progressively collapsing inward. After learning from other providers that their orthotics only last 2-3 years, I returned to this provider to get them because she had told me in 2024 that the ones she provides are carbon fiber and allegedly last forever. After more X-rays and more walking tests and explaining exactly where it hurt, I was still dismissed by this provider but I desperately needed something to support my collapsing foot so I still continued with the orthotics. I asked the provider what would happen if they didn't work for me I was told they could be sent back to the lab and adjusted until they fit well. The mold that the provider took of my foot was of my now collapsed foot/arch therefore when the orthotics were created, they didn't support my foot in the way I desperately needed. After a month of wearing them, I went back to this provider and asked if the arch could be raised and I was met with a firm "No" and accused of questioning the provider's medical expertise. I walked out of the office, sat in my car and cried. I called my sister to explain the situation of how much pain I was in and how I desperately needed something to help and she advised me to go back into the office and demand the arch be raised and so I did just that. I was still met with hesitation and attitude from the provider but ultimately these orthotics have prevented my foot from passing stage I of progressive flat foot deformity. The provider claimed to have talked to my insurance to make sure the orthotics were fully covered but then submitted the claim with the wrong code, resulting in the orthotics portion of the claim not being covered. The claim was grouped with a physician visit so I only owed a copay. The provider then continuously sent bills for what was not covered which is not allowed when a provider has a contract with insurance companies. I had to call my insurance company multiple times after months of receiving bills in the mail and insurance reached out to the provider multiple times to explain they were going against their contract. A complaint was also filed against this provider with the insurance company. This is absolutely fraudulent behavior by a doctors office. I am writing this review after all this time because I recently saw an orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed me with a strain/tear (hard to say which since it was almost 3 years ago) of a crucial ligament in the foot that stabilizes the medial longitudinal arch of the foot. A tear/sprain results in pain, instability and a progressive, flatfoot deformity. I am in a place where walking of any capacity causes pain in my foot, ankle, knee, glute and lower back so I will soon be having surgery to hopefully reverse this damage that I feel was overlooked by this provider on multiple occasions over many years. I am deeply angry at the lack of care I was provided at this office and all the time and money I spent. I urge others with complex foot issues to seek out better care elsewhere and always advocate for yourself.

**Review for Dr. Matika**…read more I had my first visit with Dr. Matika on May 14, 2024, due to my concerns about drop foot and a height discrepancy following a hip replacement. Unfortunately, my experience with her has been far from satisfactory. During my appointment, I explained that I was seeking assistance in finding a boot to help keep my foot in a normal position while sleeping, as well as to address the height difference. However, instead of providing the help I needed, Dr. Matika insisted on making adjustments to the arches of my feet, despite my arches being fine. On one of my visits, she handed me a boot from her stock and instructed me to try it. To my dismay, just a week later, I noticed redness around my ankle. Given that I have no feeling from my knee to my toes on both feet, this was concerning. When I tried to reach out to Dr. Matika regarding this issue, my messages went unanswered. Eventually, I contacted the manufacturer of the boot, who informed me that it was actually meant for my left foot, not the right. They advised against wearing it any longer, as it could cause significant damage to my foot and ankle. When I finally managed to speak with Dr. Matika again, she offered a half-hearted apology, claiming it was a mistake. However, I expected a higher level of accountability, especially in a profession where patients' quality of life is at stake. After this incident, I lost confidence in her ability to provide the care I needed. I subsequently sought a second opinion from another doctor, who contradicted Dr. Matika's recommendations and began treating the wound caused by her oversight. Unfortunately, I am still dealing with the consequences, including ongoing medical bills and special bandages costing over $300 a month. When I reached out to Dr. Matika for help with the proper medications due to her negligence, she stated that she could not assist me and abruptly stopped responding to my messages. Now, several months later, I am still grappling with the pressure wound that resulted from her actions. I feel compelled to warn others considering Dr. Matika's services. Please ensure you double-check everything she says and does, as her mistakes can have serious repercussions. I will be contacting the medical board and my insurance company regarding my experience, as I believe someone in her position should not be practicing without taking full responsibility for her patients' care. In summary, my experience with Dr. Matika has been deeply disappointing, and I cannot recommend her for podiatric care. Ginger
