Nothing to add to all the positives mentioned in previous reviews of Phillips Wholesale - just reiteration and confirmation that this is the best place for reloading supplies in San Gabriel Valley if not in the County of Los Angeles in general. Rick is a nice dude who's very helpful in answering questions about reloading, which is an absolute plus considering safety with 'splody stuff put into not-cheap-to-expensive chambers and barrels you probably put a lot of time and resources into getting/building. The prices range from fair to excellent, and favor on the excellent side of the spectrum. I'm also a big fan of the "cash only" merchandise, 'cause you can score on some really good stuff for a great price. YMMV, and the selection changes regularly, but I was able to get new Lapua brass at 40% off normal retail price. It's also a great place to get good ammo cans of various sizes to store whatever you wanna store in them. If you cast your own bullets, you can buy scrap lead there. Also, that complaint about there being no A/C is plain silly. I've been there on several hot summer days and there were air circulating fans keeping the place relatively cool and well-ventilated. Some days are just too hot in general - that's Southern California for ya. But I'd rather be inside Phillips Wholesale than outside baking in the sun. read more

Rick, the owner and main worker, is an easy-going, knowledgeable guy and will answer all your questions. I get my copper plated Xtreme bullets there, which come out cheaper than getting them online from Xtreme themselves, since he buys in bulk and passes some of that savings on to his customers. He has the essentials to get started reloading too: presses, dies, tumblers, manuals, scales, etc. And he'll order whatever you want. He's quoted me very competitive prices too, so I wouldn't hesitate to order from him -- as I have once already. I was looking for a tumbler and bought one he recommended. I'm pleased with the purchase. I've yet to find any place that has primers, powder, or bullets (just the projectiles) cheaper than Rick does. And he has them sooner than anyone else when things are hard to find. You almost want to keep this place a secret, which I suspect explains why so few people have rated it, but it deserves its 5-star rating from me. read more

Every once in a while they have used dies and other gear. Their prices are fair, and it's way easier then dealing with hazmat shipping or gun show crowds. I have been a regular customer of Phillips Wholesale for over 7 years even though I live an hour away. Rick always has what I'm looking for and in this day of shortages he is the only place to get some items. I stopped in yesterday and was able to pick up 1000 Xtreme .356 115gr RN for less then I was able to at Xtreme's factory in Carson City. Add to that a brick of CCI 500's, that most places say are unattainable, for $20 less then the stores that have them. Yes, Rick does have shortages the same as any other place during this time, but Rick will tell you exactly when the shipment you need will come in along with what ever else is coming with it. I just got interested in reloading my own bullets and been searching around, from online shops to local shops. The good thing about online shopping is you get it deliver to your door but the downside to it if it involves anything from powder and primers there is an added fee of hazardous material which is not worth it if buying small amount.
