Don't bother with this company unless you have no standards and aren't concerned about incurring permanent damage to you house with no recourse. Don't believe their promises on their website or their administrative staff over email. 1 - their website is full of lies and 2- anything you communicate with the company over email somehow never translates to action with the cleaners who visit your house. Also it seems they are changing/ updating their info on BBB to prevent complaints/ reviews from being visible. Specifics of why this is a horrible sham company and I regret ever reaching out to them: They send a different staff person every time, even when you ask them to send the same person, and each person does things differently. If you have special instructions of any kind (which they request you document in your forms), that information will not get to their staff when they clean your house. Anything you communicate to the company over email basically goes in one ear and out the other. Shoe policies - a cleaning company should have a specific shoe policy like not wearing outdoor shoes inside or using shoe covers. I talked to every staff person who came to our house about this, as they all did things differently. I communicated about this over email multiple times, the company says one thing and it means nothing in practice. I live in a no shoes house, so the idea of someone coming in here, especially to clean, bringing Philly nasty germs into my house is disgusting. It's beyond absurd that this was a constant issue from day 1 of dealing with them. They are not able to keep track of your agreements and schedule. I planned an end of the month monthly cleaning, and because I changed the March date to April 1st, they neglected to schedule an end of April cleaning. This resulted in my dealing with their low comprehension level and having to spell out what should have been their responsibility to keep track of. Last but far from least - the last person to come in here, I did not speak to about the vacuum situation - another lie. On their site they say provide your own vacuum. I did, and one that is specifically safe for wood floors. Each cleaning person brings their own vacuum so with each cleaning person I had to talk to them about the wood floors. The last person who came I did not review this aspect, as I have stuff to do and guiding someone through my house every month is not how I should have to spend my time when hiring a cleaning company. That was a mistake, as this person scratched the ever loving heck out of my floors resulting in permanent damage and will require floor refinishing. I immediately contacted the company and they said they would bring it to higher ups, basically just ghosted me. Who knows if they actually have insurance, but they wont be using it to resolve any damage to your property they incur. read more

If green cleaning is more important than clean cleaning, this is the company for you! One thing i will say about philly maid green is that Bri (owner) is very professional. I had a problem with the service and she contacted me by phone and email on the same day tying to rectify the situation. I appreciated this level of customer service. Now onto the cleaning... Two cleaners came to clean my "new" home as a move in cleaning. The home wasn't really dirty but before moving in, i wanted it spotless. If it is imperative that you have green cleaning over a clean home, then this is the company for you. They cleaned my home with dilute rubbing alcohol and dilute vinegar. When I ran my hand across the granite counters, they were still bumpy with particles stuck on them. Also, you should communicate exactly what you want in email so a paper trail can be documented of what you asked for. This was my fault because apparently i asked for things not to be cleaned and forgot that i did that. So when i returned, certain aspects of my house were still dirty. After contacting Bri, she offered me a $15 refund. I told her to give it to the cleaners as a tip because they worked hard and deserved it. So as another reviewer did, i contacted the same cleaning company to come clean my new home and old home. Education aint free and i paid the price to learn in this situation. Ok but too expensive, took too long (4 hours) and wasn't a deep clean but it was $525 after tipping for a 1 bedroom 800 sq ft row home. Floors were amazing but the rest was just dusted and it didn't smell fresh like you'd think after 4 hours of maids. read more

I had high hopes for this company but feel differently now. I have always felt like I've communicated well with them. I paid in cash, on time, with about 15-20% tip. I had to urgently travel and let them know early in the morning on Saturday about my Tuesday clean. They still made me pay the cancellation fee and were very inflexible. This would be fine as I signed a contract but I think providing good customer service is also important. I think that being flexible with customers is appreciated especially given the below: - they didn't clean my toilets regularly because they asked me to buy a toilet brush for each toilet. I personally don't think that it is environmentally friendly to purchase extra plastic for each toilet. It also takes up space. - didn't regularly clean/dust my ceiling fan. - left my door unlocked for an entire day and they didn't tell me. - I had an issue with a water leak so I had a recycle bin under the leak. Well they moved the water bin to the side during the clean and then forgot to move it back so when I came home there was water everywhere. - sent me a cleaning reminder- for which I prepared and they didn't show up - never gave a receipt for any of the cleanings - not telling me that the cleaning was les3 hours and I was paying for 3 hours worth for a bunch of cleanings - they changed cleaners without telling me. Personally it's nice to know who is coming to your house. - there is difficulty in reaching them via phone but then they restrict communication with the cleaners which makes it difficult logistically in regards to access issues, setting up the alarm, etc Overall I do not think this company is worth the investment. And to top it off- all it takes is one late communication for a clean (in the setting of an emergency) for them to just grab your money. For a company that prides itself on being family centered I just find that to be terrible. ** update to review: just to make it clear to other customers I wanted to respond to Bri Parker regarding her comments - I never said there was battery issue with my lock. The battery has never died. - I absolutely asked for the one ceiling fan to be cleaned - I was told the tri-weekly cleanings would be between 3-3.5 hours which is what I was paying for. I realized after based on my security app that the cleaner was only there for 2 hours 20 mins to 2 hrs to 40 mins. Therefore I was paying MORE than I was told. This is why I asked about receipts. Furthermore, you were supposed to get back to me regarding rate which you never did. - I never asked you all to provide toilet brushes. I have a Clorox wand that I asked you to use which you didn't want to due to "toxins". I would never ask someone to put their hand in a toilet to clean. - I will also say that the first cleaner texted me FIRST to let me know she was running behind a few times. I then communicated with her to ask her when she left so I could remotely set my alarm. I never asked her to do anything that could be uncomfortable. I have those texts as well if ppl need to see. I wanted to add one more thing- I'm only upset regarding the fact that I've always paid well, with extra tip (and possible paying over what I was quoted originally) and despite that I had an emergency that caused me to cancel the cleaning. Instead of understanding that you proceeded to charge me. But I decided to voice the concerns below now because I do feel like your treatment has been unfair. I feel like people should know who they are dealing with before so they are not taken advantage of. Bri, You're either lying or just confused. I did not cancel twice. I called to RESCHEDULE with a full week's notice once (7 days!), which is well within your strict rules. I emailed you on 8/31 and asked to reschedule the appointment we had for 9/7. There was 0 communication from your company about a fee at that time.....reason being because I wasnt supposed to get one! Why would you charge me a fee for that? You're fee happy!! If you really think this is what happened, please revisit your paper work and check the dates because you're 100% incorrect. Is this why you treated me so badly when my A/C broke? They do a good job but I think I was just hoping to be really impressed because I paid for a deep clean and didn't feel like it was immaculate, there were things that could have been cleaned better. But the house didn't smell like chemicals which was awesome and the cleaners themselves were super friendly. Wow.. These guys are true professionals. From the first contact with owner Bri, communications were easy and responsive. She spent plenty of time patiently answering my questions over the phone before scheduling me and giving an estimate. On cleaning day our team, Cassi and Alana, kept in touch with their arrival time to the minute. My wife and I had a lackluster experience with another cleaning service and were fairly pessimistic trying a new company. Cassi and Alana came through for us and did such a great job! Days later we still find ourselves saying, "look, they even got ______ clean!" The green products they use don't leave any residue or fakey smells behind; The dirt, dust, and grime are simply gone when they're finished. Attention to detail and high cleanliness standards are clearly important in a house cleaning team. I was a bi-weekly cleaning and pissed when Philly Maid Green dropped me as a client when I went on vacation. Now I consider it a blessing in disguise. I have now used Scrub cleaning company, see a big difference in how clean my house is, and am very glad for the switch. The owner of Philly Maid Green said they dropped me because staff quit, they didn't have enough workers, and they couldn't train new people to clean my house because I preferred they use my green cleaning products instead of theirs. (If you look below, there is another yelper who got dropped from them too with no warning because of staff turnover.) The new cleaning company I am using didn't bat an eyelash at using my cleaning products, following instructions, and just getting down to business. I used to clean houses for a living, am picky about how my house is cleaned, and am paying cleaners by the hour to do it. Following instructions on how to clean isn't rocket science and I am so glad to have found a company that can get my house cleaner than PMG, in fewer hours, and with less drama. read more

Before having our baby, one piece of advice we got from multiple, more experienced parents was to hire a professional cleaning service to clean our house (if we had any expendable income after keeping this little human alive). Sure enough, once our daughter hit 6 weeks old, we realized that we did indeed need our house deep cleaned - while we do a good job of keeping it neat, you better believe we're not cleaning toilets, ovens, stoves, baseboards, door frames, windows, TVs or hidden corners. Enter Philly Maid Green! To start, PMG gave me the cheapest cleaning quote by far - I'm talking hundreds of dollars! Scheduling with them was a breeze, and Bri communicated with me via phone, email and text numerous times to make sure I had what I needed, to confirm my appointment, and to make sure I understood their cancelation policy, etc. The great communication continued with the cleaners themselves - on the day of my appointment, they were running a few minutes late and called me right on time to give me a heads up - really helpful when I was trying to squeeze in another baby feeding session before they arrived! I can't say enough good things about the cleaning itself. My house is on the larger side and the two cleaners made it through three bathrooms, three bedrooms, a living room and kitchen in just under 4 hours. They brought all their own equipment except for a toilet brush (which Bri clearly told me ahead of time) - it's worth noting that they have their own high powered vacuum; a few other companies said that we had to provide our own vacuum, which we don't really have. I love that they use non - toxic products, especially with a newborn and a dog in the house. And everything is sparkling! I've literally been walking around my house saying "Look at these baseboards! Look at our appliances! Look at this incredibly high, obscure shelf that we haven't dusted in over a year!" (My husband can attest that this is not an exaggeration.) All the dog hair is gone, all the coffee rings from random tables are gone, all the water marks on our shower door are gone, and dirt that I didn't even know existed is gone. I now understand the wide disparity between glowing and unhappy reviews. Philly Maid Green offers you $25 off a cleaning when you write a positive review, so lots of folks do this. If you work with them long enough, though, you'll discover that while the individual cleaners are great, the company is poorly managed and the owner displays a profound lack of professionalism. We used PMG's services for a few months before we moved, and were always happy, even if it was hard to schedule at times. We then scheduled them for a move out clean. They did not honor our original Monday appointment, and we accommodated their request to switch to Wednesday, even though it put us on a very tight schedule. They then called us late Wednesday night, saying they could not finish the job (it is a small row home, and they didn't start until 4pm). We insisted they finish, as we had to turn in keys, and they told us they would. When we arrived on Thursday, the job was not done. The freezer was not cleaned, there were spots on the floor, the toilet was not cleaned, windowsills were dirty...I could go on. I spent 2.5 hours cleaning in a very stressful moving situation...the point of hiring cleaners was to eliminate this! The worst part came, though, when we attempted to address this with Bianca and Bri. They first said my husband had 'screamed' at them (he simply insisted, as I did that they job be done Wednesday night as promised), they then went on to deny responsibility for not having finished the job. Bri finally offered to send someone back out the next day...but of course this was not possible, given that we needed to turn our keys in. I asked Bri to take an hour off as a compromise, and she refused until I threatened to dispute the entire bill. As it was, we were grossly overcharged, but just paid the bill to be done with it. Again, individual cleaners here are wonderful, but do not give your business to such unprofessional folks who won't take responsibility for a job well done. My one complaint would be that one of the staff must have sweat a lot at their morning clean so when they arrived at my house, they had pretty bad BO. When I comes to cleaning, I let "perfect" be the enemy of "good". Which means that I am so anal about dusting every corner, scrubbing till things sparkle and aligning furniture just right that it takes me forever (so I put off cleaning and my place is usually a mess). Imagine my delight when I discovered Philly Maid Green, and realized from the first time Stacee came over that she is as attentive to details as I would be, even with minimal instructions from me! I have had them clean my 1-bedroom apartment a few times now, and never been displeased with the results (even the time Stacee was sick). I moved into an apartment in West Philly that really needed to be completely cleaned, including the bathroom and kitchen, along with the baseboards, blinds, and window sills. Stacee and Sierra arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule and worked non-stop for three hours, didn't even take any breaks even though I kept offering! They are really serious about what they do, and best part is that my house doesn't smell like harsh chemicals since they used non-toxic ingredients to clean. Highly recommended for those graduate students looking to get their place cleaned up nicely before the year begins. The price was also reasonable, coming out to $230 with taxes for 6 total billing hours of work (the same work would have taken me like 2 days to complete, so totally worth the service). read more

I'm extremely disappointed to have to update this review. It's been 4 weeks and 2 missed cleanings since our last appointment. The first missed appointment seemed to be a miscommunication due to illness, that I can understand. When I tried to get them to come in the week after, I was told they were fully scheduled and short on staff, so unable to accommodate us on short notice. Sadly we did not receive our routine service this week as my attempt to confirm our normally scheduled day was not answered. I'm glad they are busy and growing, however lack of communication along with the indication that I may not be able to keep the scheduled day I've had for the past 9 months was the final straw. Being one of their initial customers I would have hoped that I had some right to keep my day of the week over new customers, however the action over the past week leads me to believe my business is not appreciated not necessary. Thankfully I've already found a new service. As a working mom, there have been a few things I just can't get done anymore and cleaning the house falls into this category. When finding someone to help me here, it was important to have them use natural products because we have a little one crawling around. Also the smell of cleaning chemicals is just not what I want to come home to after a long day! Bri has cleaned our house for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with the results. We go over what areas to focus on which results in the house looking fantastic. Plus when she makes her peppermint cleaner blend the house smells great!! I also like that she is open to (and advises on) changing up the cleaners or tools to get a better clean. This has been a great investment as Bri's help and attention to detail allows me to spend more time with my family.
