Holistic Home has been my cleaning service for almost two years and I have nothing but great things to say about everyone at Holistic Home. The cleaning is always thorough and consistent. The team members are courteous and accommodating. Special requests to give a room a little 'extra attention' are never a problem. When it comes to scheduling, questions, requests, or even suggestions, Ginger and Kasia are responsive, professional and kind. I recently lost my Father to Alzheimer's and Ginger took the time to send me a little care package with products for me and my Mom - Thank you Ginger! And as far as Holistic Home cleaning and personal care products, their products are amazing! I smile before entering my apartment because I can smell the orange oil they use from the hallway. Ginger's nasty response has led me to update my review. STILL A ONE. Don't blame the potential client for your lack of responsiveness. Fortunately, the company I hired had no problem doing my job on a Friday when I contacted them the previous Monday. That owner actually called me the same day as when I contacted her and Holistic Home here on Yelp. It worked out, because they did a fabulous job and I would definitely use them again (see my stellar 5-star review, above). We have used Holistic Home for our regular house cleanings for the past year and a half and they have been wonderful. They do a great job in maintaining the cleanliness of our house and handling any other special requests (shampooing couch etc.) The products that they use always leave the house smelling great and not like chemicals. My husband and I decided to look for a professional cleaning service after accepting that we were struggling to keep up with the house. Thankfully, we found Holistic Home and we couldn't be happier! Ginger came to visit us for a meet and greet as well as a home evaluation. She was lovely and funny, personable and very professional. She definitely knows her stuff about healthier, effective ways to keep one's home clean without harsh and unnecessary chemicals. She brought us some information about the company and natural products, and even a sample for us to try. This weekend, a cleaning crew, complete with their own products and very pleasant personalities, tackled our dirt, dust bunnies, etc. and made our house look brand new again. Ginger came towards the end and did a final inspection to make sure everything was perfect,,,which it was. I kept walking around with a huge dopey smile on my face, enjoying the fresh scents and cleanliness of my home. She was professional when she arrived making sure to find out exactly what I wanted done and how. We agreed on how long it might take to clean and agreed that anything over that would need to be approved so no surprises after the fact on costs! Meghan was assigned to clean for me. Holistic Home was great! We requested a quote for move-in cleaning and Kasia came to our place to provide a detailed and accurate quote. She even gave us a sample bar soap to try, which I loved. After the service, we noticed that our place was filled with natural and citrusy scent, which was pleasant. They mostly did a great job with cleaning. It seems that they weren't able to remove some tough stain from the shower booth, but it was understandable and we were still very pleased. Holistic Home's after-service was also great. After they left, we noticed our light fixture wasn't dusted and cleaned, which was included in the quote. Upon contact, Kasia was happy to revisit our place and cleaned it for us. They were conscientious about the bill/fee. We weren't home yet at the time they finished the cleaning and they finished earlier than what was written on the quote. When we got home we found that they left us the balance, which they could've easily deceived us cause we weren't home, but they didn't. I gotta say the cost is not on the lower end, but it's worth it. If we need any cleaning services in the future, we would definitely call them again. read more

Ginger and her team are really fabulous! I had been trying to find a way to surprise a really good friend with some sort of gift. I had been considering all of the usual types of gifts - like a spa certificate - when it dawned on me. Why not get her a certificate for a house cleaning. While researching potential companies I came across Holistic Home. I loved the idea of the natural cleaning products - which I know is so important for my friend who has two little girls. I emailed Ginger on a whim and she responded to me within the hour. She helped walk me through how to package a certificate for my friend so that it was substantial but still flexible enough that she could decide what areas in her house to focus on during the appointment. The cleaning services are adequate, but customer service is rude and unprofessional. After several months of using Holistic Home, I switched to another provider because a simple interaction over a difference in preferences turned into a stunningly rude email chain and I just walked away from there. I stumbled into Soap Box a few weeks ago, and I was surprised to find such a wonderful store hiding so close to my home! So far I've used the peppermint hardwood floor cleaner, the carpet cleaner, the tired muscles bath salts, and several types of body soap. I was offered an essentials oil boost to my bath salts to suit my preferences, and I decided to add more peppermint. It was HEAVENLY! The customer service is as friendly as it gets! When you enter this store, you leave Philly and find yourself in a peaceful oasis. Prices are higher because EVERYTHING is handmade, it is completely worth it! read more

Being 9 months pregnant I was SUPER excited to have someone come into our apartment and give it a good cleaning. I decided on Holistic Home after reading the great yelp reviews. The fact that they use natural cleaning products was an added bonus. I really appreciated that Ginger took the time to come out to our apartment and give us an estimate. She was clear that there would be limitations on what they could get done in the 4 hours we agreed upon, but we went through, in detail, what my priorities were. I have a 950sq ft bi-level 2 bedroom apartment. I said the bathroom was my top priority and wanted the floors and baseboards all cleaned. We then went through and prioritized the rest of the things I wanted done. My husband was home when the person came to clean and he also reiterated my priorities. I was more than disappointed when I came home to find dust all behind the toilet and bathroom door. The mirror and shelves in the medicine cabinet were also not cleaned. The bathroom was definitely cleaner but when I say that was my top priority I would think it would have been more thoroughly cleaned. What she did spend time on was cleaned well, and I wasn't even going to complain until I saw the huge dust bunnies on our bedroom floor. The floors definitely were not fully dusted, let alone cleaned. There was also tons of dust on the floors behind other pieces of furniture. Again, for having a professional service there for 4 hours I expected to have my top two priorities met completely. It's disappointing that my apartment still needs a deep cleaning less than a week after a professional service came out. I did reach out to Ginger about my concerns and she responded promptly and offered a discount which I appreciated. People obviously have had a great experience with them so this might have been a fluke but it was frustrating enough and such a different experience from what other people have had that I thought I would share. read more

It's rare that 5 stars really equals 5 stars on Yelp, but Holistic Home earned every last one of them. They took my extreme mess of a house and turned it into a delicious, sparkling diamond. They put some serious elbow grease into it. Dirt-caked windows, grungy tight stairwells, sticky slimy floors, even my scummy garbage can: flawlessly clean. Every last dust bunny was shown the door. Plus they brought their own vacuum and cleaning supplies. How fantastic that they use natural, organic cleaning supplies that they make themselves! Plus they worked with my schedule and were incredibly accommodating throughout. I loved too that I received one of their fantastic soaps as part of the deal. It's grapefruit with real loofah. I did not proceed to schedule a cleaning with Holistic Home because I found my interactions with them to be disheveled and disorganized. I tried to call initially but always got the answering machine. No one responded to my voicemail. I was able to connect with them through email. They came promptly enough to do a walk through but I did not receive my estimate in the time frame they promised. I feel their estimate could have been more detailed. Since they clean in teams, a breakdown of cost per person per hour would have been clearer. I found my email interactions with Ginger to be off-putting. I'm sure they are proficient at their work but for me there was a customer service disconnect. read more

We hired Holistic Homes to come do a deep cleaning of our home before our first baby arrived. I liked the fact that HH uses all natural ingredients for this reason. We were given a very detailed estimate beforehand so we would know exactly what we would be paying up front, and had the option to cut things to save money. The team who cleaned our house did a great job and everything smelled so good afterwards. We were told it took a little longer than the original estimate but we were not charged more than we were originally quoted, which I appreciated. Highly recommended! read more

I was so excited to find this company & super excited to book an appointment after reading all of these amazing Yelp reviews. I have been searching high and low for a cleaning service that uses natural products and also does an awesome and thorough job cleaning. So you can imagine my extreme disappointment when I contacted the company, ready to make an appointment and fork over the cash, only to be told that they are not accepting new customers. I know that is probably because of the high ratings here on Yelp and being voted Best of Philly, but honestly that would be enough to make me never contact this company again. Fabulous. I used their cleaning service for my rowhouse and my shore house an hour away. I clean my own house regularly and have pretty high standards. I wanted someone to come in once and do what I don't normally do - the insides of appliances, windows, you know - the spring cleaning details - but decided to have them do the whole house anyway. It was expensive, but the job was huge. I have always thought a cleaning service should do a better job than I. Otherwise why would you even hire them? Sadly it is my experience that many don't. Holistic Home does. All of the crew were very complimentary of my homes and friendly - another rarity as I've also had people who were just a little hard to talk to. She provided a detailed estimate, and worked with us to stay in line with our budget requests. They did a phenomenal job! I was also very pleased with the products they used to clean. If you are looking for a quick and cheap service, this place isn't for you. They are pricier than some, but definitely worth it. I have never tried green cleaning before I hired this company- and I have to say I was impressed. I don't think I can ever go back to non-green cleaning services. They clean very well, and they arrive on time and work to finish all the requested areas in the time you requested (ie 2-3 hrs). They are flexible and offer sat hrs. I was very very happy with their service over the past year and very sad to move out of Philly-- bc I could not take them with me! Also very good rates vs other cleaning companies in the area. Ginger and her team from Holistic Homes are consistently wonderful. I have three mess-makers: a dog, a cat, and a husband. By the time the folks from HH are done, you'd never realize it! Their prices are a bit above average, but the quality of work is unsurpassed. Before scheduling the first cleaning, Ginger came to our house and did a full walk-through, taking note of what our priorities were. She then came up with an itemized proposal, which allowed us to decide exactly how much money we wanted to spend, based on what/how much we wanted done. I really appreciate this feature, because it has allowed us to rotate which parts of our home we want cleaned each time, based on our budget. My favorite aspect of HH is how wonderful the house smells when they're done. The refreshing scent lingers for almost a week -- and it's all natural! I have been to the "soap box" 4 times in the past two months and I leave with beautiful, aromatic products every time. I visited the first time for some cleaning supplies that don't reek of chemicals and give me a headache. I bought Thieves! Disinfecting spray, which is magical (I say this because it is a great mosquito repellant, floor cleaner, cloth refresher and disinfectant!), and the delicate scrubbing powder, which goes a long way. I also got some shaving soap that has red clay in it, which is very soothing on my skin, I wish I could remember what it's called so you could ask for it by name. The second time I went in I was looking for some soap for eczema/really dry skin. Mia was behind the counter that day and gave me tons of advice for eczema and even some notes. Though they didn't have the kind of soap I set out to get I was sent home with a free sample. Now I'm going back to restock my thieves and shaving soap about once a month!
