I said I wanted a length where I could wear my hair up and not worry about pieces falling out. I always bring in a picture to show the stylist exactly what I want so there are no miscommunications. I received a cut that hits at the collar bone and the front layers are too short so it does not make an A-line. Also, when I put it up, pieces of my hair fall out. I'm pretty disappointed especially because the prices were raised to $60 for a cut and blow-dry. I've received a handful of haircuts here and have only had one bad experience so I did not want to take off too many stars. In the past, I've just asked for a trim and face-framing layers. With the most recent experience and the raised prices, I may look elsewhere for my next cut which won't be any time soon since I have to grow my hair out again.

I saw the reviews for Doug's and I called to make an appointment. I arrived about 10 minutes early and Doug was just finishing up with another customer. When it was my turn I sat down in the chair and I explained I was on a quest for a decent flat top. Doug proceeded to explain the intricacies of the flat top and why it was a difficult style. As he was cutting my hair he said I had the perfect head shape for a flat top. When he was done I looked in the mirror and was amazed. I have a new barber.

I've been every color except for orange. Who knows maybe one day I'll go orange. My normal go to colorist/ stylist is Lam. She also waxes My brows and lips. I only trust her with my face waxing. But if she's not in town, the owner Haley will take over. That's when she's not busy. They have created a color that I've been wearing since the pandemic. I've gone back with black hair in between, but they know me so well that they know I'm not happy without color in my life, so after a year they brought me back to blue. Everywhere I go, different states, across the borders either Mexico or Canada I get stopped and complimented on my hair. I don't get the complaints on here. When I read the complaints it reminds me of legally blonde where the step daughter said she took a shower after getting a perm. When you darn well know you're not supposed to wash your hair after a perm. Maybe it's not the girls at the salon, maybe it's your fault. Plus the one dude who complained was not even at the correct salon looking at his photos ‍. Anyway, if I ever have to move away I will truly miss these gals. They are more than Five stars. However, once I got done with the lady who washed and conditioned my hair (who did a decent job, a little rough though) another lady came to help her blow dry me. I will mention I have long thick hair, so I wasn't surprised. They didn't even brush my hair first, NO heat protectant and instantly started blow drying! When I asked about heat protectant the lady said because it was a ceramic curling iron "it wasn't necessary" I had to end up de tangling part of my hair myself, my ends were fried and really dry and my hair was not smooth at all. While I did have curls In my hair, it was not evident I had just gotten a blowout at a salon. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and will not be returning. While it was an affordable price, I do expect good quality service. The lady kept complaining about how thick my hair was and it just didn't make me feel comfortable. This was supposed to be a self care treat for myself and my experience was ruined.
