The roll I thought was a bit chewy. Next came the Satay Beef ($12) which totally flavored the Pho. It was the best Pho I ever had but mind you I am no expert. They have a strange business model in that a small bowl is $11 and a large bowl is $12. It came out piping hot. I had to let it sit, as well as, blow on the broth to cool it down. Nothing stood out about the broth, but it was pretty spice-forward and still very much hit the spot. They surprisingly loaded up on the meat; I've never had this much meat in my bowl of pho at any other restaurants. The noodles were also cooked perfectly! The soup brough was warm, hearty and filling. The noodles were good too - very soft and easy to eat. The vermicelli dish was also good. Very standard protein and vege vermicelli dish. Every dish tasted like they were made from a Vietnamese's home. Great flavours without the "restaurant" taste, if you know what I mean. I would imagine if we were to visit a Vietnamese person's home, the dishes would taste something along this line. Having lived close to San Jose, CA (large Viet population with lots of specialty restos) and currently from just outside Toronto, where we have an array of authentic Viet restos, this place rates near the top in comparison to Viet restos we have been to, even in Montreal.
